AutoCAD Inventor :: Make Dimension Shown Black Instead Of Pink
Jan 11, 2013
How do I make the dimension shown black instead of pink? I had to suppress the fillet from the drawing in order to grab the edge to get the true dimension then when i unsuppressed the fillet the dimensions turned pink. I also used a section view but that did not fix my problem either.
Is it possible to make an i part or i feature of the beam end shown in snapshot (every thing except back to back channels) i.e., couples of holes at certain distance attached with some plates etc, so that it can be populated to identical locations.
I am using IV 2010. I am trying to make a 5/8" sheet metal piece with the surfaces shown. I have tried to thicken the surfaces but do not get the results I am looking for. After the surfaces are thickened I need them to be able to lay flat with flat pattern command.
I have the brush and the layer set to 100% opacity and the layer is set to normal but it's not coming out normal.. I choose a pink color and stroke somewhere and it comes off as a highlighter yellow and looks like it's about 20% opacity in other places on the layer the color doesn't even show up.. I take a pink color and color over a black and it turns red.. and other places it's completely normal. Also i can erase a color and then paint in that spot but if i don't erase first it won't let me paint there.
Btw I've tried checking my layers brush settings and opacity all fine. I'm using photoshop CS6
When I want to upload pictures into Lightroom 5.2RC the window is black and no picture is shown. This was also true for Lightroom 5. The same pictures are imported into LR 4 without any problems.
My system: 27" IMac newest generation, 16GB Ram. Uploading from a Ricoh GR, Fuji X-Pro 1, Fuji X100 directly or from a Hama cardreader USB 2 or 3.
The pulldown menus listed in the CUI are File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Window, and Help. The menu bar has one pulldown menu: Express. How do I make the pulldown menus listed in the CUI appear on the menu bar? Sure wish it was as easy and obvious as "drag them there".
Is there a way to override a dimension and have it shown as a GD&T Basic dimension. I can override a dimension with the text option but not with a box around the letter. It sounds strange to do this but the letter represents a dimension in a chart format that are Basic dimensions.
I am having trouble with using my layer masks. I can use the masks that are hidden (shown with black screen) and apply them with the white brush, but I cant get white or shown masks to be taken off with the black brush. Sometimes, not always I have trouble adjusting the opacity of white masks. I was playing around with actions I downloaded and after applying three actions to a photo, elements froze on me. I read about trashing preferences, I dont know what that does or means but I tried to hit cntrol alt shift when photoshop was opening and nothing happened. When it first opens it shows I can install the new inspiration browser ( i dont know what that is either) thinking it was a required update I tried to update and it gave me an error message, something about the installer has been mis-configured.
I am trying to cut sections using Inventor I will begin by saying I am a fairly new user. On numerous occasions I am running into an issue where the section cuts are not shown correctly? I have attached an image showing an example of what I am talking about, you can clearly see that there are bolts and plates that should be displayed in the section cut which is shown above.
I use a single IDW template for all my drawings. In it, I've got multiple dim styles.... One is Inch, one is mm, and one shows alternate units as Inch (mm).
In my titleblock, I've got a box that says "Units: " and I've currently got this setup as a prompted entry so that I'll have to think about it when I start the drawing and manually enter "Inches" or "mm" or "Inch (mm)".
Is there a way to automate this so I don't have to manually enter it, or remember to change it if the units change down the line?
I use INV 2013. MOVE THE END OF THE PART DOWN TO SEE WHATS HAPPENING. (MOVED TO REDUCE THE FILE SIZE). I am trying to split the solid using the surface as shown.
But, I am unable to do so. Also, I need to create a new surface with 0.50mm offset to create female form die.How to do it.
We are having a little trouble with a .dwg we need to create. (we create all are drawings that would be .idw as .dwg so users of light etc can view and mark up the files.)
The part has a Perspex (to represent glass) front with some framework behind the Perspex. We have created a base view of it in a drawing and can see through the Perspex when the view is in render mode, but if we switch to hidden line removed (as our drawing standards dictate) all the detail behind the Perspex disappears.
Is there a way to make the Perspex part transparent when the view is in Hidden Line Removed mode.
Is there a setting or something somewhere that turns off/on the display of the origin folder? I have rebooted and restarted Inventor. For some reason, I can't get see the folder. Even when I edit a part, it is not there. See attached images.
I am currently having trouble creating a decal, i have inserted the jpeg image on an ipt file, as i also need to use the .ipt when designing current projects, but when i project the ipt onto a dwg the ipt is just shown as being completley greyed out? i know how to insert the image straight into the DWG file but for what i need it just isnt enough?
Is it possible at all to bring the jpeg image into an ipt. and have it show on the DWG file also.
I have common parts (custom frame member) that I use repeatedly in assemblies that I don't need to show in a parts list. Is there a way to control this so they don't show up in a parts list? Currently I go into the parts list and turn them off before exporting the list.

When you measure something with the distance command, according to the type of file, the last zoom you did, your graphic card and probably the speed of the wind, the little red line won't show.
Normally when you measure something, a thin red line is shown were the distance is calculated. But in my laptop, and both pc's of my client, Inventor shows this line only in parts, not in assemblies. I've got a Quadro 2000M, my client got Quadro FX 1700 and 1800, all with the recommended drivers.
So I tried with 3 other laptops. On one of them (with a K2000M) if you do a measure right after the file open, it give you the line, if you zoom with the measure command open, the line disappear and won't show again until you close and open the file again. But if you zoom without the command active, the line is shown normally. But it's not working like that on all machines.
I am working in inches so I set my dimension units to Architectural. When I am dimensioning a distance that is twelve inches I would like the dimension to read 12" not 1'. I would like to set up the dimension style to report this dimension automatically without editing the text manually to change 1' to 12". Is there a way to set this up through the dimension style?
The standard in the industry I work in is the radius dimension goes on the inside of the arc. However, AutoCAD defaults the dimension to the outside of the arc. Is there a way to make it default to the inside? If not then this is the issue when I use the mirror command.
I'm an architect and I'm drawing up a development of 80 houses and I need to provide a Sales Plan which includes the width and length of each rear garden in the development. Rather than show these as actual dimensions on the drawing (which will get messy and make the drawing look untidy due to the large amount of units) I plan to create a simple table with plot number and dimensions.
My plan is to dimension the gardens on a non-printable layer and to insert a field into a table to obtain the required dimension. I've done this for the first few houses but I have to insert one field and then select the dimension to get the "m" dimension and then repeat the process in order to get the "ft" dimension.
My question is is it possible to insert a field (or two separate fields) that will display the dimension once in m (ie 12.80m) and once in 'architectural dimension style' (ie. 41' - 7 1/4") by only clicking on the dimension once??
This will save a lot of time as this size of development is quite common for me.
How to make an attribute block that contains a dimension?
I’m wondering if there is a way to create an attribute block that contains the particular text and the value of the dimension length. More specifically, in the screenshot below in need to show the steel bars (as an attribute) along with the value of the dimension of the bar such that in case the block is stretched then the value of the dimension length changes. I think the block itself needs to be dynamic.
The issue here is having an attribute for the “steel bar type” and its length. The “steel bar type” must be editable while the length must be written automatically to reflect the length of the bar.
