I somehow accidently closed and deleted the left-side file panel(with the file three structure) in inventor 2011! And i cannot find where to activate it again in any of the menus.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had folders on my internal drive that used the same structure as the populated folder structure on my external hard drive. I just went through and keyworded all the internal drive photos (which happened to be iphone photos), then, on the internal drive, I selected the 2013 folder, selected all the images in that folder and dragged them to the 2013 folder on my external drive. (all steps were done within LR5) Now, on the ext drive, when I choose 2013, I see all of the photos, but most of the subfolders now say 0. How can I get my images back into the folders they were already in?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe external hard drive I was storing four years worth of photos on crashed the other day, and I learned the hard way that they weren't on the backup drive like I thought they were. Luckily I was able to recover at least most of them using FileSalvage. Unfurtunately, my ~15,000 images are now in three folders based on file type (JPG, TIF, DNG/NEF), don't have their original file names, and aren't in any particular order.
Is there any way short of manually sifting through the files for me to rebuild the year/month/day chronological folder structure I was storing them in? I'm running Lightroom 4.0 on a OS X 10.8.4.
My AutoCAD Architecture 2012 system was acting funny so I reset it and lost my build panel under the home tab. I tried to right click and select it in the tool bar but it was no longer there. How do I get this tab back?

I used to be able to do something like effect->3d-> revolve, then go to the actions panel and bring up the 3D revolve, click on it and edit it again. Now, when I open the actions panel the simple 3d revolve is replace with a long long list of actions of course I can't bring up the 3d revolve effect and edit it.
I have removed all of the Illustrator prefs in my library file; but, it still does it.
I recently discovered a 'change' to my 'Source Panel' window when I try to Import new files from my CF cards. I have 4.2 installed. All that is available on the left hand side of this window is the 'Other Source' pull down box and never any file source like my hard drives or CF cards or anything that used to be there prior to about a month ago. I reinstalled this program twice without any changes. Have I shut something off by accident? My buddy has the same program and he cannot find any reason my should be any different than his but it is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe use C3D 2012 (metric only) - We are attempting to customize our list of structures for Sanitary Sewers. The structure list shows sizes we do not use and we would like to modify them. However, when we try to select the "Inner Diameter" it displays a list of sizes that we can not seem to modify or add to.
I have looked at some of the XML files to try and modify or add new sizes (example: AeccStructConcentricCylinder_Metric.xml) , but they do not seem to be recognized even after I restart the program.
Here is what the file looks like:

I saved the XML file and restarted the program with nothing changing that I can see.
Looking for correct file(s) to edit so I can modify the LISTS that come up in the piping modules.
One good thing about null structures is the way they display in 3D. They cover that gap in the pipe segments. Can I steal that shape?
I am currently using a simple cylinder for water pipe "joints" and turning it off like most people do I think.
I have drawn a pipe network with multiple concentric sturctures. I need to make them all eccentric now. Is there an easy quick way to do this, or do I have to redraw all of them. When I go to the properties, I cannot find an option that allows me to change this.

How can I change the BOM structure of the parts to Phantom, I really don't want them showing up in parts lists... and I'd prefer not to just shut off the visibility at that level. They are all set to "Purchased"... can this be changed? I tried opening the part and setting the default to Phantom, but since it is a CC part, I get an error message.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet's say i want to draw a bike. In the 2D IDW of the wheel I want to see the frame as a reference. So, in the .iam of the wheel the frame subassembly is inserted and checked as reference. Also, a new level of detail is created that surpressed the frame.This level of detail is used in the overall assembly of the bike.
So, I end up with several subassembly's that contain other subassembly's just to reference them in the IDW. It would be better to have just one master assembly and create several IDW's from that assembly with different LOD and reference settings.

I'm trying to do a customization of the Bom structure to obtain a new custom column "Qty*x" (where "X" is a number).
I need this because in my order I have multiples of these items.
I am working on an assembly and trying to build a BOM. I am using the BOM editor to change everything on the fly but I am running into an issue. For some reason there are a few parts that don't want me to change their BOM structure. I change them from "Normal" to "Purchased" but they instantly change back to "Normal". I have all the files checked out and in the parts document settings it's BOM structure is actually correctly labeled as "Purchased".

I need to have a sub-assembly (named ass1) with two different BOM structure: one should be normal and the other should be phantom.
The normal one I need to use it in main assembly (named assy2). In the drawing of assy2 I need to show the assy1 in the Part List.
The phantom one I need to show in another assembly (named assy3). In the drawing of assy 3 I need to show the components of assy1, not the assembly.
As a new Inventor user I wanted to get some insight and pointers on good practices for Project Files and their structure while using a stand alone Inventor seat with no Vault I am a single user at our company and just upgraded to Inventor. I have been using Solid Works for years and things are a little different.

I require the tables and features that the iparts and iassemblies can create but they are coming up read only and can not modify the BOM information. Is there a way to change the read only aspect of an ipart or iassembly?

Once they were in the CC I setup the proper code allowing these members when placed in an assembly to show up as shown in the parts list.
Now sometimes when the member is an odd length it will show up with the decimal places in the part number (i.e. P1001--46.621) This is fine when it comes to the part number showing up as a decimal. In the description we are now wanting to show this in fractional form such that 46.621 in the part number shows up as 46-5/8 in the description.
When I edit the family table for these members, specifically the columns that house this coding, I am not seeing anywhere on how to change this. Does this can be done and if so what the coding is to accomplish this? Without changing the global units of the drawing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been doing the design and shop drawings for lattice structures using AutoCad in 2D. It works fine but there are a few problems where parts collide in final assembly. My client suggests Inventor as he thinks it iwll be faster (and thus cheaper) and it would also automatically make shop drawings of each piece.
While I have no doubt it is possible to design and draw a lattice structure in Inventor, would it be efficient or would it be a waste of time compared to another program. Would 2D AutoCad be more efficient?
In a IPartFactory is it possible to change the BOM Default structure per IPartMember?

I have a problem, and it's like to limit the length of the profiles up to 6 meters. When I insert the profile in a structure of 7 meters of length, Inventor should segment the profile in a profile of 6 meters + 1 profile 1 meter, as the maximum length of the profile should be 6 meters.

The Occurrence BOM Structure is set to Default (Reference), and I can find no way to get Default (Normal) to appear. If you were to distribute the load from CoG there will be vertical forces as well as moments on each pad that will support this assembly. Is there a way for Inventor to show the distribution of the CoG load on the given points?
