Where the "Layout constraint" options have gone in Inventor 2014?
Last seen in Inventor 2013 on the right-click menu of a part created through the "Make components" workflow, this invaluable tool has been abducted.
In Inventor 2011 and previous, one could detect assembly constraint errors by taking a component that was not fully constrained and manipulating it via a mouse click and drag. This would launch a dialogue box listing all the constraints that are having problems and still allow you to accept the manual part manipulation.
However, I am now using Inventor 2013 and when I have constraint errors, I cannot manually manipulate non-fully constrained objects and do not get that overall constraint error dialogue box. Is there a setting to turn this back on?
What's up with the Show Manipulator Tool in Maya 2014? On my system, the tool is not showing up in the toolbar. There's just a blank spot where the icon used to be. The tool is still accessible via the General Shelf.

If I open the same drawing in my AutoCAD Mech 2014, the drawing appears correct. Both have service pack 1 applied to Inventor and AutoCAD 2014...
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe've finally nibbled the bullet and upgraded to 2014. I'm getting errors in the Task Scheduler logs about missing files in various projects. It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am designing a vertical axis wind turbine just for some practice (just started using Inventor) and everything was going smoothly until I tried to "animate" it spinning. First, I set up a work plane that goes through the center of the structure, and then I clicked angle constraint "explicit reference vector." After watching several youtube videos, I figured that I should click on the work plane, click on another reference point, and then click another point that would be orthogonal to those two (right?). Well after I choose the first point, Inventor will only allow me to choose the center axis as the second option (which I think should be the third option).

Have installed inventor 2014 as part of the Product Design Suite Premium 2014 & have a few issues.
1). In sketch mode when drawing a line/circle etc there is usually a green dot in the centre of the crosshair, this is not vissible at all making it difficult (if not impossible) to see where the cursor is snapping to. The same happens in the drawing mode when dimensioning. I've checked the options but can't see anything obvious.
2). The icons in the 'Navigation Bar' are invisible, I've checked the opacity levels & irrespective of the setting they are still invisible. You can hover the mouse pointer over where they should be & they work, they're just not visible.
Also, the close, minimise & restore down icons in the top right corner are also invisible. Similar to the navigation bar issue, they work, they're just invisible.
Have tried uninstall & reinstall, & have downloaded & installed the update, but this doesn't solve these issues.
I have been using the Tube and Pipe tool on a daily basis for a few months running Inventor 2010. I recently installed Inventor Pro 2014 and it no longer works. As I click on the Tube and Pipe button, the Windows loading icon thing shows up and runs in circles until I manually stop it by closing Inventor thru the Task manager (printscreen attached). I tried this with a very light Assembly containing only 2 parts that I need to connect.

I used to paste parts all the time while the constraints tool was open which made for a good work flow when I had to insert a lot of the same part. I just updated to SP1 and whenever I paste a part the constraint tool closes now.
How to use the ability to paste parts while constraining?
AutoCAD command to turnoff the Model/Layout tab in autocad 2014 or which function i need to call from code.it will trunoff the modellayout.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using AutoCAD 2014 for a couple of weeks now and there seems to be a problem when switching from the model tab to the layouts.
This is the problem i have: I draft my plans in model space as usual, once i finish that, i want to go to the layout tab
where the titleblock is and modify its attributes. When switching, AutoCAD crashes, it allows me to save a recovery file but it closes the program completley.
I have submited the error report to AutoDesk but i have not seen any other comments about it.
So, just installed the Suite Ultimate version and couldn't find anywhere in Civil 3D 2014 some icon/window to use both... Help file and 'What's New' doesn't even mention the new features.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe experienced a problem. we have a drawing file, is about 1.6meg not big. while working in model space doing some 3D work, all of a sudden all the objects dissapear except for some text. all layers are on and thawed. we regen all, zoom all. weird thing is when we go into the paper space tabs everything shows up. so all the data is there some place but cant find it in model space.
there are no xrefs in the drawings and i had cleaned all the multiple copies out before to keep the file size down and more workable. this is happening on two machines. other drawings are fine.
I need to create a section of a 3d model. Unfortuntaly the layout tab I need is missing. Normally if somthing is missing I type 'CUI' and then click Ribbon>Tabs> select the one I want and drag it to 'Workspaces Contents' - 'Ribbon Tabs'
The ribbon tab for layout is missing from the cui. See attached images.

I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.
My layout tabs are missing. How do you get them back?

View 1 Replies View Related I am a PC user of Autocad LT making the transfer to Mac.Just purchased AutoCad LT for Mac 2012.While printing a file from layout in landscape, the bottom edge is missing.
If I print a file in Portrait It will center and fit to page perfectly.(Within The Dashed Lines)The layout page shows the print inside the dashed lines of the printing area as it should.
I have tried moving the layout above the dashed line, then the top that shows outside the lines won't print.I have tried every hing I can think of, without success.
I have installed Maya 2014 SP4 at home, this is a fresh install and was just trying to see if there are any problems with the new SP before I install it at work.
But for some reason, the install went OK, but when I looked under the Render settings there is no MentalRay, and then looking in the Plugins list, there are none there either?
My pc is being upgraded next week (while I am away on holiday). The IT guy will be adding 4GB of RAM and will be switching from 32bit win 7 pro to 64bit win 7 pro, obviously, this will mean a clean install and re-installing all my software. I have my tool palettes set up with many blocks, leaders, hatch patterns etc and I want to know if there is a way I can save my tool palettes and then reload them onto the upgraded pc with the re-installed AutoCAD LT?

I am currently creating a chain block to be animated later on. But, I do not know how to constraint it.

Maybe I've just been doing it wrong for the last 5 years, but the Angle constraint is obnoxiously unpredictable. When I constrain a part in an assembly with an angle constraint from the assembly origin plane (or anything else), Inventor always has two solutions; a positive and negative.
Is there something I'm missing here, or is just a design flaw we have to live with?
In Autocad 2014 when I use the zoom or pan command transparently some information disappears (hatch) and only reappears when I finish the command. This did not happen with version 2009.
