Oct 12, 2012I am looking to import an Inventor file and create views of it in AutoCAD 2013, However this is what appears under my Layout ribbon.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Layout Tab Missing From CUI And Ribbon
Jul 25, 2013I need to create a section of a 3d model. Unfortuntaly the layout tab I need is missing. Normally if somthing is missing I type 'CUI' and then click Ribbon>Tabs> select the one I want and drag it to 'Workspaces Contents' - 'Ribbon Tabs'
The ribbon tab for layout is missing from the cui. See attached images.
How can I get the Layout Ribbon Tab back quickly?

See attached screen shot to see where I highlighted the differences between the tab in the workspace and the tab in the acad.cuix file. I am trying to recreate this in my workspace without having two separate layout tabs.

Jun 18, 2013I am trying to create a layout view using the view manager in paperspace. Whenever i click on define window, it does not record any information no matter where i click. If i do the same task in model space, it accepts the window i select. I am currently using civil 3d 2013 with the latest updates.

AutoCAD 2013 :: MEASUREGEOM Missing From Ribbon
Sep 19, 2013I am using a full version of 2014 plain vanilla AutoCAD. More recently I have had the utility panel (that contains MEASUREGEOM) and the export panel pulled down in the work area for ease of access. The utility panel has disappeared completely, and sometimes I find the export panel hiding on the far right side of my screen with just a little bit of it sticking out. I right click on the the home tab and open "show panels" and I don't even see the utilities panel as an option to check or uncheck. I wonder if the utility panel is hiding beyond my screens view, but am unsure how to easily explore this possibility.

Mar 22, 2013I just upgraded to 2013 map to a different computer. I loaded my 2012 profile and other than having to load the profile every time, I also do not have most of the ribbon tabs which I had upon the initial installation of 2013. After about 2 days I lost all od my map ribbon tabs, and at the same time my cui stopped loading automatically.
What is going on with this 2013 thing? It seems there may be a serious need for another hotfix or service pack.

if open autocad program first, every thing is fine , ribboon is working good. but if derictly open a .dwg file when autocad is not running, the ribbon panel is gone, i tried every method i can find -- reinstall, repair install, type "ribbon" command, reset cui, swich to other worksapce then swich back--- but the ribbon just don't come back.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Panels Missing On Layout Tab?
Jun 6, 2012I am working in a 3D Modeling workspace.
I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.

I can use layouts tabs, I can change the background color to same as model tab and all its ok.
However I'm unable to set scale to have text and annotation with a "human" size (that is, thinking on my screen and not on the paper).
Maybe this is a newbie question but I'm lost....
What is what I must to set ? I dont want to use layout to print, but to view my drawing with custom layer settings.

The size of the A4 is 29.7x21The size of by title block is 27x19Then I have like 1 cm margin from top, 1cm and bottom, 1.35 cm from left and 1.35 from rightI managed to have the view port / drawing centered on the A4 layout by setting the “plot offset” to be: X=13.5 and Y=10 using the printer “dwg to pdf.pc3”
It looks fine in the printed pdf, but when it is printed using printer “HP LaserJet P2050 Series PCL6”, the drawing is not centered on the hard copy A4 paper (attached)
What might be the issue here? Is the approach that I used to center the drawing in the layout is efficient? Why the drawing is centered correctly on the pdf but incorrectly centered in the printed A4 paper?

Jan 8, 2013My company have recently upgraded from Inventor 2010 to Inventor 2013, on the whole I like it a lot better but there is one feature I can't find or Autodesk have removed. I have attached an image of what I mean if I haven't explained it very well but on the browser bar there used to be a drop down 'design view representation' that you could change back to 'master' quickly. I found this very useful as I often use the 'visible' tool to hide parts then want to unhide them all at once. Is there another way of doing what I want or does this tool exist hidden away somewhere else?

Oct 31, 2012I have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.
I'm using Inventor 2013, SP1.1

AutoCAD 2013 :: Create Viewport Of Solid In Layout And Dimension Inside And Outside Diameters
Aug 8, 2012Having trouble with diameter and radial dimensions since upgrading to 2013.
For example, draw two concentric circles and Presspull (or Extrude and Subtract) so that you get a hollow cylinder. Then create a viewport of this solid in a layout, and try to dimension the inside and outside diameters.
One of the two dimensions will work properly (seems to vary which one). The other will magically "jump" when placed (ex. the OD dimension will jump and become the ID, or vice versa).
How to resolve this? Our guys are having to do absurd things like redrawing the circle in paper space and dimensioning to it with a scale factor. Is this some sort of 2013 bug, or a setting?

Aug 17, 2012i am wanting to use the apprentice server in another program. The apprentice server is 'normally' found in the registry under this key:
ComputerHKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDC343ED84-A129-11d3-B799-0060B0F159EF
The problem is, that if you uninstall all things autodesk, and run a registry cleaner (or delete that key by hand), and then install only inventor view 2013 and run inventor view 2013, it will *not* create that key in the registry.
This makes it impossible to run the apprentice thru the COM mechanism, even your SDK samples will not work.
(i suspect (but havent proved), the bigger problem is on a brand new machine, install and run only inventor view 2013 , you still can't use the apprentice server.)
The 'workaround' is to install and run inventor view 2012. running inventor view 2012 will create the registry key. After that, running inventor view 2013 will happily update the key's value to the appropriate place.
(C:Program FilesAutodeskInventor View 2013BinRxApprenticeServer.dll)
so try this :
1) run regedit and delete the key and all its subkeys
ComputerHKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDC343ED84-A129-11d3-B799-0060B0F159EF
2) optionally install inventor view 2013 ('as administrator' or not doesnt matter).
2) run inventor view 2013 ('as administrator' or not doesnt matter). exit it
3) run regedit. the key is not there still. you won't be able to run any SDK samples or get an apprentice server using the following 'basic'
Set ApprenticeServer = New ApprenticeServerComponent
i'm on windows7, x64. (iv2013 is: build 126, Release: 2013 RTM)

AutoCAD 2013 :: Create Base View Doesn't Show Anything And Jumps To 0,0,0 Coordinates
Dec 30, 2013I created multiple base views and projected views on drawing (autocad 2014). suddenly when I create base view it doesn't show anything, jumps to 0,0,0 coordinates (it is fixed can't be changed), scale can't be changed. It shows it is drawing view in properties, however when I want to edit (click edit then select the view , it won't recognize it is view). I created many views without problem, now all base views jumps to 0,0,0 coordinates....

May 3, 2012Theres no text on the ribbon bar. So far, I have tried switching from classic to ribbon UI, changed the font size from the application options, reinstalled and uninstalled twice, cleaned my PC of registry errors, system restored to the time i didnt have this problem.
