Oct 4, 2011I just started using Inventor and it is very slow, freezes for a few seconds, and is non responsive. My AutoCAD Architecture 2012 works just fine.

View 6 RepliesI have recently put Auto Cad 2012 on my laptop, but seems to be very slow. While doing this fusion inventor also downloaded.I was wondering could I remove Inventor as I don't use it, without that effecting my auto cad program? All I do is just basic 2D drawings on autocad and need to speed it up. Could I also remove Autodesk 2012 libary?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI get the following error when I try to launch Fusion from within Inventor (or on it's own):
The application is unavailable. There was an error while initializing the graphics subsystem. This is likely due to one or more of the following: your graphics driver is not configured for "True Color", there was a problem installing the application, the application installation was damaged, or some other problem with the graphics hardware and drivers or the configuration of the application. More detailed information may be included below.
Also, when I try to switch to Realistic Visual Style, it will not allow me to. When I go into Application Options, Hardware, and try to set it for Quality it always goes back to Compatibility.
I am having PDS Ultimate 2012 and working on inventor. when i open a file or open a new template ribbon freezes means menu bar doesn't work properly,if i change the ribbon appearance it doesn't update also i cannot switch between the menu bar tabs and if i turn on the visibility of the datum planes it doesn't show on the screen. But when i refresh the windows everything works sometimes. i have installed SP1 and even repaired inventor.

We have 13 machines that are identical hardware and software; Windows 7 and the Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 as well as the Vault 2012 Client. Two of these machines are exhibiting the following behavior: Connected to our LAN with access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in 68 seconds.Disconnected from our LAN with no access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in <10 seconds. I have tested this with our AV turned on and off with no changes in the above noted behavior. These two machines loaded Inventor 2011 in repsectable times ~<30 seconds.
Now this tells me that when Inventor is loading it is trying to go somewhere when there is a network connection. But where and what can I do to make it stop?
After i moved a drawing in this file to another place, autocad 2004 suddenly got slower and even not responding any time i tried any command .With other files, it's still ok.I t seems layer 4 has some problem.URL...

FYI, this software was working fine with windows XP machine.
I have a drawing that is "Not Responding" when switching from a layout tab to model space by clicking the "Model" tab. I ran a recovery on the drawing and there are no errors. I can't get into model space except by clicking inside my viewport.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have AutoCAD 2012 on a Win 7 64bit laptop. Ive had it on here for over a year and never had this issue till today. My AutoCAD loads up fine and loads up the default Drawing1 file. However after waiting a few seconds and going to click File, it comes up with Not Responding on the top. I wait patiently for several minutes and it does not recover. Not quite sure what went wrong . My desktop has the same issue. There is a possibility of it being caused by CCleaner after using it to fix errors and it messed with something in the resgistry while doing so but not sure.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a .step file from a construction website URL..... It is of a screw. Anyway I want to edit the screw but when I open it, it opens as a weird ipt. It's like the part is an assembly but it's not a logo that I worked with before. Anyway I right click on the Base1 file and hit edit form. When I do that Autodesk Inventor Fusion opens. Is there a way I can edit this part in normal Autodesk Inventor or do I have to learn how to use the fusion program?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to convert a 3D model saved as a .dwg in AutoCAD 2011 to a .stp file using Inventor Fusion Technology Preview. I did it once and it worked perfect. But since, every time I save the .dwg as a .stp in Fusion, it scales the object down to 39% of the original.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a rather complex 3D structure i have buid out of solids in AutoCAD and then colored and finnished in Inventor Fusion. The whole image was made for a journal-cover.
I drew the basic structures in AutoCAD and then transfered to Inventor where there have been added some more smooth edges and a rectangular pattern of 1000 objects.
Now in the end i find out that only one single 3D solid is too big and i want to resize/scale it.
It seems impossible for me to do that in Inventor, so I transfered the whole file back to AutoCAD. Now i have the problem that AutoCAD is recognizing my objects now only as "block references". It is easy to resize the object now, but i do not know how to get the block refences become 3D solids again and transfer them back to inventor.
If i just try to transfer the whole data or save and load Inventor isnt opening anything.
I was trying to show another user the Edit in Fusion feature in Inventor 2012 but she doesn't have that ribbon panel. We went into the Part tab in Application Options and Inventor Fusion was selected to Edit Base Solids. We even unselected it, applied it, closed the options and then selected it again. But still there is no Fusion panel under the Model tab when editing a part. Yes, it's installed on her machine. We checked.
The only difference is that she's also installed the 2013 suite, as well. I have the Fusion panel and have not installed any 2013 apps.

Any good IGES to Autocad converter? Does Inventor fusion support IGES?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy view is freezing in Architecture 2012 and when I close out of my drawing and open it again, the problem is fixed. What am I doing to make it freeze? It seems like it does it the most if I am in isometric. Also, I am working in a project manager and there are no Xref's attached.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to edit a solid part in Inventor 2012, I click the "Edit Form" button which automatically launches Fusion. Units are defaulted to cm every time (I don't understand why it can't autodetect units) and the first thing I do is switch them to inches (english). I edit my part then return to Inventor. The part has been resized (smaller by a factor of 2.54) and moved off my original origin. I cannot figure out how to get around this HUGE problem. This has made Fusion useless to me and has drastically reduced the functionality of my ablility to solid edit.
If Fusion is intigrated into Inventor, why does it behave as a totally different product (reversed scroll wheel direction, different units, no refrencing between Inventor features and Fusion, etc.)? It's as if the Fusion programing team and the Inventor programming team met for just long enough to put the Fusion button in Inventor and nothing more.
My brand spanking new Acad2012 cannot copy anything to the windows clipboard...it freezes as soon as I hit enter after selecting the objects I want to copy. The only solution is to taskmanager and kill it.
I've had to go back to using my old AcadLT 2002 in my WindowsXP VM.
Basically my new Sing$2000 SW is useless unless I can copy blocks form one drawing to another.
I've applied this patch: [URL]
Autocad 2012 copy button freezes once i have finished copying and pressing enter. Just been installed 32 Bit
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever I place a copy or paste from the clipboard AutoCAD freezes for about 5 -8 seconds and is very annoying. Time is money people. I know it's not a RAM issue. I don't have the problem with 2011 when I go back to it. What gives Autodesk? When is the next service pack due? This only happens with teh copy command

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince last week (4-19-2012) Our users have been expierencing cursor issues and freezes with Civil 3d 2012. Entering commands in the command line very slugish, pressing the shift key to select / de-select, trim, open osnap menu, ext.
We are running Win7pro6d bit quad core machines with 6gb ram, ATI FirePro V4800 (FireGL), Intel Xeon ES640 (2.67 ghz). AutoCAD Civil 3D(SP2) and all hotfixes installed.
This problem just started one week ago and It started with the cursor jumping all over the place when crossing objects. However; we now have very sluggish command line entry, 2 - 3 seconds after typing till it shows up, and cursors freezing when pressing the shift key for any reason.
Preview panel "preview" freezes indefinitely.App very slow to load while creating new previews. (previews take forever to create and update)Wrong previews showing for wrong images when swapping between folders, etc. (ie: all photos, last import, custom collections) This one is a little different...
Ratings lost when switching between folders, etc. (ie: all photos, last import, custom collections) This was a clean install that ran beautifully at first. Started noticing this more and more after using the spot tool. (my last step in processing a job)
I use separate catalogs per job. Some as small as a few dozen images. (family stuff) Others, as large as 500-600. (engagement and wedding clients)
Normally LT runs fast enough that you can't see what it's doing, but occasionally it will bog down so that you can see the lines in the Properties manager fill in one by one as you select and deselect entities. A quick restart of the program used to be all it took to refresh it and get back to normal speed. But I still have this problem after multiple restarts and a machine reboot. It's slow enough to be almost unusable.
It's an old machine due to be replaced but is usually fast enough. I've got nothing else running, I even turned off the McAfee (usually the culprit on speed issues) and nothing is working. Is there anything else I can try before I have to kick a wall and reinstall LT?

My work helpdesk has recently installed AutoCad 2012 and my co worker and I noticed that at the start up its loads very slowly and often when we double click on a DWG to open (without Autocad being already open) it crashes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I copy and paste on Autocad 2012, it goes very slow.
I installed the service pack, I tried removing the layer filters and a few other fixes that are out there. The machine is powerful enough to handle the application.
I tried reinstalling the application and that didn't do anything. The DWG file that's on the network share is being used by other people without any issue, I'm the only one having this problem.
Autocad 2012 was working fine until a week ago when it started taking a long time to open drawings--even search for drawings on our network. It also takes at least 30 seconds to save files, where it used to take 5 seconds at most.
I found the AutoCad 2012 and AutoCad LT 2012 SP1 Ribbon Hotfix, which sounded like my problem, but it is for Product Version F.107.0.0 and I have Product Version F.51.0.0.
why is it that simple commands in paperspace like editing text/mtext, moving a single line or erasing objects so slow. it seems like it takes way to long to do simple editing. Makes me what to go back to model space sheet set up. I already did the changes to settings that someone posed "NEW Autocad Performance Tips". I notice a small performance enhancement but still very slow compared to paper space. this happened in files with one layout tab or 10.
