I'm working on designing Web Template, which contains many groups and graphics. FIle size is 30 MB, and when I load it into Photoshop, it uses upto 4 GB of memory, and it slow downs the processing of Photoshop. Other Application Programs are running very smoothly, but Photoshop is giving problem. My system configuration is ""i5 + 8 GB RAM + 4 GB Graphic Card"

The specs:
Windows 8.1
i7-4770k 3.50GHz
32gb RAM
GeForce GTX 780
SSD Harddrive as main
2 extra harddrives
None of them are in RAID though.
But here's my problem. In the beginning, editing in After Effects CC and Premiere CC was smooth as butter.However, lately, especially Premiere has started giving me issues.
At the moment, I'm editing to 1080p footage, in h.264 format. There's a few effects on it, such as an overlay 720p footage, using Red Giant Looks twice (on one adjustment layer, and on the footage itself), and some other minor stuff like curves and such.
The effects don't seem to matter much though. Even if I play back the footage with no effects at all, playback is still choppy.
I have playback set to 25% size, and 1/4 resolution, and I still only get what I would guess is around 5-10 frames per second. Sometimes it drops completely, down to just 1 or 2 frames per second. Heck, at times it just doesn't update at all for a few seconds.
When I check my CPU usage, everything is fine. It hasn't reached max at all. RAM is still PLENTY (usually around 20gb left), and it seems that both harddrives (Premiere is running on the SSD and the files used are on another harddrive) aren't maxed out either in capacity.
This isn't JUST Premiere, as I said, I've seen a decline in After Effects performance as well.
I've attached 3 screenshots, of my CPU usages, and the 2 harddrives, showing a few minutes playback in Premiere.

As you can see, apart from a few spikes here and there, none of them seem to be having issues with capping out. RAM is sitting at a steady 30% usage.
If you use spot removal function a few times in a lightroom session, you end up with the impossibility to use it anymore if you do not exit lightroom and start again from zero.
What I mean is that after a few clicks on spot removal on 2-3 pictures, when you need to use it again on picture number 4, for example, the function is almost unusable (very slow movements that make impossible to put the spot tool in the right place).
If you then exit lightroom and start again everythimg is fine for a while. It seems it is allocating memory each time you use it..
In a project i'm working on I have two large jpegs with a small zoom scaling effect. Going from 100 to 103 percent.
I've noticed that both Adobe Media Encoder and Premiere Pro experience a heavy slow down in render time as soon as the jpegs have to be rendered. Not only does the render speed almost come to a halt, the complete system lags very heavy, even the mouse cursor won't respond well.
This happens when i have GPU acceleration enabled and when i do a 2 pass H264 encoding. When I have the GPU acceleration disabled the render goes very smooth, and doesn't seem to slow down...
The jpeg is 4023 x 2677, and 6,97 MB large.
Scaling the jpeg down to about 1920x1080 in Photoshop and put that one in the timeline made the render go a lot faster.
I understand that a large picture takes a bit more time to be rendered, but we're talking about a 10minute render whit the large jpeg file and a 2 minute render with the jpeg resized. The total time of the two jpegs in the video is 5 seconds in a 3 minutes video. So, that made me think that the render times are exponentially long.
Is this considered normal, I can't remember having such big differences in CS5.

Previews/Cache on a Raid0 diskSystem and Premiere on SSD

How do I show high level walkways and balconies (in dashed outline) on the ground floor plan in a high volume space?
Obviously I can turn the first floor RCP on in the view and manually draw the information, but I assume these lines won't move if the walkways above move (or am I wrong?). Also this seems slightly wrong given the amount of automation available.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen creating my own panel in Configurator and exporting it to the 32-bit version and 64-bit version of PS It is only recognized and available in the 32-bit version (Window - Extensions).
I exported to the appropriate folder of the application, so in both cases in their PluginsPanels location.
I'm on windows 7 64 bits and I have installed both 32 and 64 bits versions of Photoshop CS6 (trial). When I try to run the 64 bit version I get a configuration error (error 1) that tells me to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop. But after several reinstallations, I still get the same message.
Photoshop 32 bits works just fine, same for Adobe Bridge 32 and 64 bit so why is Photoshop 64bits not running ?I tried to install it on my SSD where my OS is and also on my other hard drive (where the default location of program files is) but it doesn't change anything.Also my computer is a month old so I didn't have older version of Photoshop installed prior to this.
How do I configure my Eizo CE240W (or any other monitor) to display proper length/width ratio on rulers? The horizontal ruler across the top has wider space between inch marks than the vertical ruler on the right.

Everything is fine until I get to the symbolled shortcuts. The / is an upside down question mark. The [ is actually a U with a ^ above it. Which is suppose to be the decrease brush size, but I found that in to be the Windows Start shortcut. I'm on a laptop and wondering if it made it made the compact keyboard into a full-size.

I have recently had to reinstall CS5 on my iMac from a backup. After reinstalling I found I was getting an "error 213:5" message. I wrongly uninstalled the application and reinstalled it. However I'm still receiving the same error message.

Activate it on line and I get an error so I go to phone activate... the guy I talk to says the serial number (the one that is automatically entered by my copy of Photoshop) is not valid. View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile the Version Sets in my current catalog are collapsed, the version sets in the Catalog on the new computer have all become 'expanded'; this is unacceptable to me, as many of the pairs that are stacked as Version Sets have become separated. While all of the Version Sets are "tagged", it looks as though many of the photos in the expanded sets are without tags. Problem #2 is that the hierarchy of Keyword Tags that I currently use is lost when the Catalog is restored in the new computer's Organizer. I currently use about 500 Keyword Tags, divided into 6 categories (i.e. People, Places, Locations, Events, Other, Bird Species). On the new computer, the tags are alphabetized without being separated into their 6 categories. I currently have close to 30,000 items in my Catalog, and have spent hundreds, perhaps thousands, of hours editing (and saving both the original and edited files as Version Sets), tagging and captioning all of my photos. I followed the instructions previously published in "Photoshop Elements Help" regarding backup to an external hard drive and restoring the files in an empty Organizer on the new computer. I also used the "Save Keyword Tags To File" command before the backup. I do have the intact "current" Catalog on my old computer, complete with tags and captions, collapsed version sets, and a list of Keyword Tags organized in the Hierarchy that has worked best for me.

I have started saving files back and forth between cs3( at school) and cs2 (at home) for a school project. View 3 Replies View Relatedless than an hour after running the latest Adobe updates, Cocktail, Repair Permissions, reboot 10.7.5 dragging an 8bit background layer from a small .jpg to a simple 16bit 70MB layered file i got this for about four minutes waiting for it to generate a crash report, but it cleared in the meantime
as i've had no previous issues like this, i hope it is not something new..i also seem to have a problem with Color Settings changing, but that is before 13.0.2 (General Purpose 2 was set when i looked after this hang)
I have been running Photoshop CS2 on my computer for about a month now, the full version, activated and registered. For some reason whenever I open a file, Photoshop stops responding; all it does is make a sound ("dun") sound whenever I click on the Photoshop window. The only button that works is the minimize button; I have to use Windows Task Manager to close the program.
Does anyone have any ideas what's going on and how I can fix this?
