When I open my Photoshop CS5, I get a configuration error. It states Error:16. Do I have to uninstall/reinstall my program? I bought it through the adobe website and have misplaced my serial number. Would I be able to retrieve it?
View 1 RepliesI'm on windows 7 64 bits and I have installed both 32 and 64 bits versions of Photoshop CS6 (trial). When I try to run the 64 bit version I get a configuration error (error 1) that tells me to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop. But after several reinstallations, I still get the same message.
Photoshop 32 bits works just fine, same for Adobe Bridge 32 and 64 bit so why is Photoshop 64bits not running ?I tried to install it on my SSD where my OS is and also on my other hard drive (where the default location of program files is) but it doesn't change anything.Also my computer is a month old so I didn't have older version of Photoshop installed prior to this.
I have recently had to reinstall CS5 on my iMac from a backup. After reinstalling I found I was getting an "error 213:5" message. I wrongly uninstalled the application and reinstalled it. However I'm still receiving the same error message.

Have restored PS preferences (hold down cmd+alt+shift while starting PS CC) , try to change default printer, try to uinstall ad reinstall PS CC with no success.
I get this error message upon startup:There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents. I can however print pictures with window's photo printing wizard so I know my printer is setup and selected. "OWL Orphanage: Photoshop.exe - entry point not found."
This is followed by a bunch of numbers or addresses. After I shut the message, the program opens normally, and as farr as I've explored it, functions OK. Haven't had time to really explore things.

We have re-imaged our school district computers with XP SP3 and IE7, and now on Creative Suite CS3, only Photoshop will not open as a student. It opens only as administrator and students get the runtime error. All other apps in the Suite work fine. They worked with the same install job before the updates, and reverting back is not an option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've applied the Mac Photoshop CS6 13.0.2 update this morning, but now, I cannot open one of my working .psd document anymore, Photoshop raises a "could not complete your request because of a program error" message everytime. I've tried to open it on another workstation, a Windows one, running Photoshop CS5 12.0.4, and it's okay, meaning that my .psd file is not corrupted.
I've tried to disable Photoshop extensions from the extensions manager, but problem persists.
I tried to open a photo (photoshop 5.5) and got this error message:

My system has deleted all the temp files. The photo files are in a folder

I tried opening in Photoshop and a different error occurs. I avoid PS as much as humanly possible and have not used it since acquiring the D4. BUT as I recall it shares this module with Lightroom so this message is unexpected as LR has no problem with all the other D4 images.

I get a "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document." error message whenever I try to open up a PSD file created on a Mac using Photoshop CC on my PC using CC. Other people have been able to open the file from the same location, so the files aren't corrupted.

I've recently become aware that other people are getting an error message when opening many of my my psd files if they are on earlier versions of PS and also on PSE, (including the latest version). The message is:
This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead, choose flatten to load composite data as a flattened image.
Three options follow: Flatten Cancel Keep Layers
When 'keep layers' is selected the file opens as normal. However, people with much earlier version (CS version 8) don't get the option to keep layers, and the layers are flattened when the document is opened.
I still have CS5 on my mac, and I find that if I take my finished file into CS5 and save it there, the customer does not get the message above, and the file behaves as it should. Those on very early version of PS can also open the files without any issues.
I've been using CS6 since it was released and have had to delve through all my files and save them in CS5. Not every file is affected and I've been unable to find a common thread.
This just started happening really recently and I'm not sure at all what the cause is, soWhen opening or saving files, Photoshop displays this error message and closes itself:
