Photoshop Elements :: Frequently Getting Not Responding In Top Left / Program Freezes
Mar 21, 2013
I'm following a Scrapbook course. When I'm attempting to assemble a page, I am frequently getting 'not responding' in the top left, and the programme freezes.
have been using CS4 for years. Now when I try to process an HDR the program freezes (not responding). HDR will "freeze" (not responding) the program then the screen goes blank. Have used the HDR with out issue.
I recently upgraded from Elements 9 to Elements 11. Now when I work in the Organizer or Editor the program frequently freezes up and then displays the message "program not responding". If I wait long enough - several minutes - it begins to run again. I never had this problem with Elements 9
I'm using Elements 9 and I've never had any problems with it until today. When I tried to use the Adjust Shadows feature under Adjust Lighting, the program became unresponsive. It wouldn't allow me to do anything at all. I had to exit the program using the Task Manager. I tried two more times to see if I was doing something wrong, but I followed the same process I've been using for years and each time the program would freeze.
Using Elements 8. The cursor for Clone Stamp freaquently appears as a cross with a dot in the centre rather that the circle. what is (am I doing) wrong?
I just installed Autodesk Inventor Pro 2014 as a student for my engineering class and I have yet to get it to work properly. Every time I try to open the program, it will open to the main selection page. But the first click I do on the screen causes it to say 'not responding'. I have to close the program and try opening it again. The second time, it does not even get past the opening screen. It freezes and I end up having to log off of my user and log back in. I have the 64-bit version that matches my computer.
I was working on a file this morning and saved it in .Ai format. This afternoon I came back to work on it again and now it won't open. Illustrator hangs, and then stops responding. Is there a way I can fix this?
I am trying out the free trial of LR4. My OS is Windows 7. The program is constantly freezing up and posting "Not Responding" at the top of my screen. I really dolike the program and would like to purchase it at the end of the trial, but only if the "Not Responding" stops.
I have an image open and try to use the liquify tool in filters. It opens and then after attempting to use the tool, It freezes completely. Cant even get out of it or close it at all.
I'm having problems opening photoshop CS3 after a clean install. I have deactivated my CS3 product on my old computer, that run on windows XP. With my DVD installed on my new computer that runs on windows 7. After the installation, I tried to open photoshop to activate. When the program stats to open and freezes almost instantly. I have to open the task manager to close the program that appears not responding.
My new computer is a Workstation, S5000XVN Intel motherboard, 24 Gb of Ram, NVidea Quadro 2000.
I am using Photoshop CS5 with all current updates installed on a Mac running Lion. I am having a problem with the handling of the camera raw format (specifically .arw) and how Photoshop handles the format.
My first issue is that upon loading the format into Photoshop, the program is cropping a bit of the image from both the left and the right. I have not found a way to stop this from happening.
Another issue is file size. A client is having issue with the file size presented. They are providing me an ARW file that is 14.8 MB and I am making edits and provided them with a large jpg from photoshop (jpg qaulity turned all the way up) and they are getting a jpg at 9.7 MB. They are concerned that I am giving them a less than quality result.
I know that any conversion from a camera raw format to a high resolution jpg will result in a lower file size and that has been explained however the client has taken the raw format parsed it through Mac Preview, saved it, and resulted in a larger file size than I could provide in Photoshop.
This then becomes a confusing situation to handle.
Questions: a) How to explain the lower file size happening in Photoshop to the client (what is lost?) b) Why they can use mac preview and get a larger file size that I can at full resolution jpg in Photoshop? c) Is there a way I can make this client happy without moving to a tif file format? d. Why is Photoshop cropping the .arw file?
I have a problem since I upgraded to CS6 for MAC. All the rest of the Design Premium software works fine, but adobe Illustrator seems to have a problem when exiting the app. Always hangs and never closes down so I have to use the Force Quit option of the OS. And it happens ALWAYS.
Whenever I go to open up Adobe Photoshop (64bit or otherwise) it will load up for a second then crash the next. It doesn't give me error reason why only says it has stopped working and it can't detect a problem so it closes. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but the Adobe Application Manager is also acting weird. When it is opened it freezes and soon crashes saying there is a "Download Error".
I'm trying to switch documents and add some text. But the program switches to the document then freezes without executing any lines after switching documents.
If flyToHandle <> "" Then Dim docIsopen As Boolean = False For Each doc As Document In DocumentManager If doc.Name = flyToDwgName Then docIsopen = True acdoc = doc DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument = acdoc End If Next If docIsopen = False Then acdoc = Autodesk. Auto CAD.ApplicationServices.Application.DocumentManager.Open(flyToDwgName, False) [code]....
Anytime I import a piece of Clipart and I go to the Trace bitmap button>outline trace>line art the program freezes immediately. The diagbox doesn't even pop up, nor does it say "not responding" at the top.
I am running Win 8 but it has been running for months without a hitch. I have cleaned out temp files and reinstalled the suite and nothing happened.
I'm using X4 and tried Local Tone Mapping for the first time. Any time I try to use it the program freezes and I have to use Task Manager to close it and re-start. It does it on any image I've tried. does it only work on specific file types? Haven't had any other problems with the program.
every time I use my Dell Printer and go into scanning and select 'scan to' and select Gimp as the image program. Gimp freezes for eternity on Gimp Startup and I HAVE to 'end process'!!! end task DOES NOT work!! how do I fix this while scanning directly into Gimp?
I cannot share photos from my Elements 8.0 Organizer via email. The program does not recognize that I have an email program loaded. The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. My Elements 8 does everything I need except for the photo sharing so I don't really want to purchase a new version.
I have elements 5. I know its old but I hardly use it so im not ready to upgrade now. Im trying to use offset. It brings up needing to simplfiy so I do but once I get in to the area to change the numbers it freezes.
I am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. I can click on an autocad file in windows explorer and bring up the file this way but as soon as you try any file command such as save as the program freezes again. I am running windows 7 professional and the autocad LT 2011 64 bit program.
When my PSE10 stops responding, as it frequently does, it does not pay to wait. Even if it finally responds, I have to shut down my computer before I can access the app and begin work again.
I've been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for a couple of months to create 11x8.5 photo collage's as part of my digital scrapbook. Yesterday, when I tried to create a new collage the program stopped responding and forced me to close it. It will only do this with an 11x8.5, it's not a problem for any other size, unfortunately the rest of my pages are 11x8.5 so I really need to be able to use this size!
