When I choose open the dialog shows up but under the Files of type I have only 7 file extensions showing up, all of them inventor exts. If I log on as another user they all show up, at least 25 or more.
I am using IV 2010. I am missing the metric items for content center. I have checkeed the filter for DIN and nothing appears. It looks like the only thing I can view is ANSI. How do I get the rest of the content center loaded?
We've finally nibbled the bullet and upgraded to 2014. I'm getting errors in the Task Scheduler logs about missing files in various projects. It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?
I am trying to check-in an assembly, however there are missing .fins,.fsat,.ftes, fmsh and .fres files that cannot be found on my local machine, in the vault or on the other machines on our CAD network.
is there a way to remove references to these files so the assembly can be checked into the vault?
I was wondering if the is a way to go from a Inventor file type to a Solidworks file type. One of our customers is asking for one or the other following file types: .asm or .prt.
They also mentioned something about "shrink wrapping" the file to all the surfaces.
We're using AutoCAD LT 2009, so we of course do not have Aeccland.shx. I am aware that I do not have it. I don't particularly care that I don't have it.
AutoCAD, on the other hand, is very concerned. So concerned, in fact, that it will ask me for this file every time I open projects that involve baseplans shapes from this file. I would like to allay AutoCAD's concerns, and inform it that aeccland.shx is not necessary, and it can get along quite happily without aeccland.shx, and any other shape file. I would like to do this very much, as I am currently working on a project with 60 or more separate files I must pull information from to compile baseplans I can use.
I received some drawings from a client that is missing some shape files, it looks for file names like Z.shx when opening the dwg's, I have asked and he says he has the same problems when he opens them so is unable to send these to me, the drawing seems to open fine and I can not seen anything that looks wrong.
Iv also had this in the past with fonts and it will change the font to another one but nags you for it each time I open the file so i would like to know how to stop that as well if its different to above.
We have AutoCAD 2010 installed on 5 machines in our office. These machines work and save files to our server. One of the workstations always gets a pop up that it is missing reference files. No other workstations are running into this issue. We've tried having multiple users log into this specific computer but they all encounter the same error.
Another thing (which may be related to this error) the drawings that do open up on this computer don't line up. For instance we have a field in the lower right hand corner wiith text such as job name/number, tech who worked on the drawing etc. One all other computers this information lines up perfectly but on this one it doesn't as well os other lines on this machine don't line up properly.
I have tried to export shape files using the Map --> Tools --> Export function and I am setting up everything that I need to complete the import but I can't seem to get all the files I need. Our GIS expert says that he needs 7 files; the .shp .shx .cpg .dbf .idx .sbn and .sbx. The problem I have is that IM not getting the .sbn or the .sbx files when I go through the export process. Or even if those 2 files I'm not getting are necessary to be able to import the shape files into GIS.
I am using Autocad 2012. When I plot I go to change my plot styles, all I see is STB files. Where did the CTB files go? They are on my computer but not showing up in my style list.
I recently got the blue screen and I had to reinstall the OS (Windows 8). I had AutoCad Map 3D and AutoCad Civil 3D installed before the blue screen. I am trying to reinstall them and I keep getting multiple errors saying I am missing files.

When I open a .dwg file, 'Missing SHX Files' dialogue pops out. I checked the box 'Always perform my current choice', and clicked 'Ignore the missing SHX files...'. Then .dwg opened, but all text information were not displayed. I closed the .dwg, and reopen again, but this 'Missing SHX Files' does not pop out again.
How to get this 'Missing SHX Files' dialogue back?
My place of work recently changed from Autocad 2007 to Autocad 2013 (big jump.. i know), when we try to plot old drawings the .ctb files that were used in 2007 now says missing beside it. We also only have a few options in regards to .ctb files, whereas in older versions we had hundreds to choose from. Any function to get our old .ctb files back or where to download them?
when trying to follow the "Getting Started: Animated Battle Scene" tutorial. I am at the "Adding Materials to Objects In the Scene" section of the tutorial where I am being instructed to add the textures onto the objects, however when I open up the Compact Material Editor, all of the samples (Battlefield, Cannon, Windmill, ect) are nothing but grey spheres.
I was able to locate the image files stored in my Documents/3ds_Max_Tutorials_scene_files folder, however when I close out of 3DS Max, reopen the program, and reopen the scene, I am presented with the "Missing External Files" message box. Where should I store the image files so that 3DS Max is able to locate the image files?
I have Architecture 2009 on both my PC and laptop. The laptop version is functioning properly but the PC version started having problems a few weeks ago. On my PC when I open up the Design Center / Autocad Architecture / AEC Content there should be icons for both the AEC Imperial and AEC Metric folders - there are no folders
I design / draw in Imperial and currently have no access to the AEC Design and
AEC Documentation files. Is it possible to restore or reactivate the AEC files without a complete uninstall/reinstall of the software?
I was opening files and autocad was telling me that some xrefs were missing from the drawing, did I want to locate the xrefs or ignore (I hit ignore and accidentally checked the always do this to these types of files). Now, when I load a drawing I can not get the building to load into the drawings.
I'm having an issue with my 2013LT. Everytime I open a new drawing I get a dialog box that says "One or more SHX files are missing. What do you want to do?" The options they give me are "Specify a replacement for each SHX file" or "Ignore and continue".
when I open a drawing that's missing an shx file I get a dialog box (see attached). I put a check mark in the "always perform current choice" item and select the "Specify a replacement for each shx file". I assume this replaces the missing shx file with the default shx file. But if I send the drawing to someone else they get the same message. Did the shx file not get replaced or do I need to do something further?
I am using autocad 2013 and importing PDFs into the drawing and recently the OSnap points within the pdf are missing. The PDFs are of floorplans and I was able to measure from wall to wall using endpoints and midpoints. Now I am only able to select the endpoints on the frame of the pdf.
Is there a switch that might have been turned off?
Reviewing the ACA 2011 Curriculum for next year, I notice that Units 1 and 2 .dwg files are missing for the first two units. Is there a link to download the missing files?
In my code I can only see that the type is a browsernode.
Should I use Browsernodedefinition to get the type?
Maybe it's not possible, so I can stop trying.
Dim oPane As BrowserPane = oDoc.BrowserPanes.ActivePane Dim tNode As BrowserNode = oPane.TopNode Dim oNode As BrowserNode Dim oNodes As BrowserNodesEnumerator = tNode.BrowserNodes For Each oNode In oNodes MessageBox.Show(oNode.Type) Next
When creating a part in .ipt, you can press F7 to remove everything forward of the plane that you are sketching on. Is there a similar function when you create a part in an assembly that removes everything up to the sketch plane?
Is there a way to get the "view type" of a view using iLogic? for example;
-detail view -section view -exploded view
Or any way to differentiate between the types of views? I'm trying to write a rule that renames all detail and section views in a drawing in Alphabetical order. A,B,C,D..
i can't open any file type except .png files.i think cause is from libjpeg and when i compile gimp didn't install and i has to compile with --disable-jpeglib or like this switch.
i was wondering if there is anyway to assign a layer to each type of material used so that i can have the material shown in different colors on my drawings?
