Dec 28, 2011I wonder why I was not able to select the material type. I may have accidentally toggle off/on some selection.

View 2 Repliesi was wondering if there is anyway to assign a layer to each type of material used so that i can have the material shown in different colors on my drawings?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to delete a material called "Generic" from a part.. I can't delete the material (delete greyed out) I try to add another material to the document and I still can't delete the "Generic" material... I added a new material from the drop down box at the top... It says the correct material but when i open the material library dialog again it says "generic" instead of the proper material name that I selected... Is this a bug? See picture.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am working in 2013 right now. My project loads two material libraries, and I am finding that if the Autodesk Material Library is selected in the dropdown, and I try to set the material to something in my Custom library, it fails. If I first select my custom library to make it the active one, then my code works fine.
So my question is, how do I set my custom library to be the active one, or better yet, so that it will look through both library's and pick the material from the library that has it.?
I have my own library, Inteco Material Library, created with a material 'perforatie'.
Now I have a flat part and made a sketch with another rectangle. I have used the Split tool so I create a separate area that I can select.
If I select that area and I go to my own library I can not select my own made material. I have the material in the Inventor Material Library installed but I can not select it.
When assigning materials to a part in inventor the process is simple, however when one wishes to assign a specific steel type ie ASTM A516 as opposed to just a generic steel then this is where it gets a little more complicated.
This specific steel type will also need to be called up in the parts list relevant to the individual part that it is attached to.
I know that a custom material can be added to the favourites section in the materials library, and this can be done if required.
Have i delved deep enough into the inventor materials library , do the basic steel and others materials ie plastics break down into specific types with their elastic properties, yield stresses etc etc in other words a more comprehensive materials library or is this something that must be created by custom material input.
Im trying to create a list of text strings to select from defining material thickness and then plug that selection into a global form custom iproperty called "MaterialDescription".. Also, is it possible to access and pre-enter field text edit items in iLogic?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have created one Style, but within this Style are two Dimension types (Dual and SIngle)
When a drawing from a model is created it defaults to the Dual Option and we can only select the Single Dimensions by individually selecting the Dimension and editing to Single Dimension, which can be time consuming.
Is there a way to select the Dimension type for the whole drawing?

Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it.
Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to take a custom counter I created as a family and have it show a material in my project. It seems that no matter how I apply the material parameter to the family type object, type or instanced, the material does not change in the project when I apply any new material. I have opened up other countertops I have used from the Revit Default Casework Family and I can't seem to find a difference in the setup between mine and Revit. I wanted to use an instanced parameter so I can change the material per room where the object is used.

I've found several people that had this problem through searching, but none of the fixes worked for me. I'm unable to use the quick select feature as it does not list anything other than "multiple". I've tried different files, different selections, repaired the installation, complete reinstall, updated with SP1 and hotfix 3 to no avail. I also have Autocad 2007 with SP 1 installed, as well as Autocad Architecture 2014, if that makes a difference.
I am looking for some code that would allow me to select a MTEXT Entity - or other entity - (as the DEFAULT option) but also to allow me to type in some text manually or to pick a point in the drawing. Something that would present the user with:
"Select an object or [P to pick a point]" or
"Select MTEXT or [M to type].
I can write some code to type in text manually as the default option and get the second option to select entity using get string and then write some condition of if code but I don't know how to do it having entsel as default option.
I've been using PS 12.0 for a year without incident. Recently I installed Superstition beta and started experiencing crashes both in 13beta and 12. I can consistently reproduce a crash in CS5, Win7 SP1, x64, by opening an existing PSD and then switching to the Type tool. The crash occurs before I even get to see the type tool. I've replaced the prefs a million times using the CTRL+ALT+SHIFT on launch technique.
I have not change type management (not using any font managers at this time). My nVidia drivers are up-to-date (dual 9800m GTX), my RAM is good.
Any chance that Paint.NET could learn my preferred "save as" file type (it seems to insist on .png) - or even better provide the means to select a default file type?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIve recently upgraded to the new GIMP 2.8 and I cant seem to save files as anything other than gimp project files. I open the extension box to select the file type and there just isnt the option anymore. Do i have to reinstall GIMP or should I revert back to 2.6? I wouldnt think they would get rid of the ability to save in different formats so there must be a problem somewhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know I've been able to do it before, but now when I put the selection arrow (black arrow) into a line of type by double clicking, I am unable to then drag the cursor to select the row of type. Triple clicking does nothing.
In other words, double clicking with the selection tool places the cursor in a word, but how to then highlight the word??
In Preferences, it doesn't matter if the 'Double Click to Isolate' box is checked or not and the 'Object Selection by Path Only' is unchecked.
I know it's something simple.
In Adobe Camera Raw, is there a way to select the file type that you save your image in. It seems .dng or DMG are the only file types, I would like to save my original CR2 file and save a copy in JPEG for others to open.

I have see it done before just don't know how to replicate it.
As you scrolled through the choices as each one was highlighted it would display that one on the screen.
and probably more, but when you consider how little functionality the loss of those three buttons give me, you can understand how little use I am getting out of CS6 so far.It makes no difference whether I use 32-bit or 64-bit.

I sometimes get a message on load saying that Photoshop cannot find my 3D settings (although my Graphics card has 3D capability), but as I'm not using Photoshop's 3D editing tools, this is no issue to me at present.
The issue that I'm having is when I select my font and type on my project the letters will show up in the layer menu but not in my project. Wondering how I can fix this issue
