Lightroom :: Unable To Select Paper Type For Epson DX8400
Dec 10, 2012
I am trying to print on photo paper from Ligthroom 4 with the Epson DX8400 printer, on Windows 8. Yet I can't change the paper type. Is it possible that Lightroom doesn't like Windows 8 or is more likely that my printer doesn't like Windows 8?The screenshot shows all that I am offered in the porperties section
When I print 11 x 17 paper on Epson R2880 in LR the image begins printing before the leading edge of the paper reaches the printerhead (not prininting borderless.) Only happens in LR and not PS. I am using the LR paper standards for borders.
I can select mtext in paper space to edit it. I can create a new text object and select it but I am unable to select existing mtext objects. Audit and recover does not eliminate it. Everything is at 0 elevation. The only to select it is to write block the entire drawing out. That gets sort of inconvenient. Is there a variable that is getting set like the imageframe variables that prevents me from select the text?
I cannot import files from an epson scanner V750 pro. The screen reads unable to read preview. I am scanning B/W negatives using 16 bit Grayscale and tiff image format?
Why do I need to change the paper type/size in Lightroom everytime I want to print aphoto, even during the same session
I set the paper to say 15 * 18 and borderless and select print. The paper size shown in the top left changes back to A4 by itself. Try setting the options again and they remain as selected. Select another photo and try to print 15 * 18 borderless and the paper size changes again.
I'm exporting photos from Lightroom 3 to be burned to a CD for a client, and only want to export one set of files. Which output sharpening setting should I use if the client does not know if they want the photos printed on Matte or Glossy paper, and indicated "probably both"? The photos will also be viewed on screen, but prints are the preferred end use.
I've been noticing for a while that my Epson 3880 "keeps printing" after the image has been printed. I loaded some paper that is a little wider than 11x14 (12x14) but I print on it as if it's 11x14. I printed an image (only 8x10 on the page) and now that a wider paper is in the tray I see that a black line is being printed down the side of the page. It's a line that is actually being printed down the entire sheet. When the paper isn't wider than what I've specified the print head just goes past the paper and "thinks" it's printing on the paper.
The printer is an Epson 3880 with current drivers and I'm using the current version of Photoshop CS5.
My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists.
Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it. Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it. Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
Photoshop will not print on my epson 837 but will print on other printers and other apps can print on this 837.
I do get an error message that I should reset the Printer's color management in the Printer's dialog box, but when I click Print to get to the dialog, it just disappears.
PS - I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the mac; then again after downloading a fresh driver from epson...though this is unlikely to be the problem since I have now confirmed that every other app prints just fine.
I deleted all of my paper presets and tried making new ones... I keep getting this error msg and don't know what it means or how to correct the color sync:
ColorSync color matching may produce different results than printer color management. Either Photoshop color management or printer color management is recommended.
unable to select "printer manages colors" in the print settings, manage colors dialog. The options are grayed out and the default is "color sync". This started yesterday with LR4 so I upgraded to LR5 and it is the same.
Why can't I get my Epson Printer to print the colors on the monitor> First time this is happening. Printer is new...ink okay...and history with the printer has been okay. Took some photo's yesterday...blue heron, picking up a fish in a pond. Water is blue...heron is grey and white and has other yellowish and maroon coloring as well. The fish he caught was a gold fish. The colors on the monitor are wonderful.
The photo's were cropped severely. But are still clear. Now the water is pink...and the heron is a disgusting color of grey green. Have chosen ICM...chosen Adobe color profile. Used premium glossy white papers, Epson inks.
Tried printing it out without ICM and with different papers....still the same...Either everything is hot pink, or dull gray brown. This was my first ever heron photo that had any merit, and I so want to print it out for everyone to see. I was so lucky to catch the fishing capture. Does the cropping have anything to do with the printing of the photo?
Using Photoshop Elements 11 on Mac OS X to print image on Canon Pixma iP4850 printer, where is option to chose paper type? Print window says chose printer the paper size but not paper type.
Anyway, I can't seem to be able to type anything in text or mtext windows. I either have my keyboard input ignored completely, or I get blank spaces, depending on what font I choose. Disabling the Aero themes don't work. All runs fine in a XP virtual machine, but more slowly.
I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.
I want to print a type specimen covering a page of paper and have illustrator generate it for me while I only have to pick the type font. How is this possible?

If I am in Library module, select filter Metadata, select Keywords from dropdown (no other filter panels selected), and start to scroll down the list of keywords, I can select keywords by mouseclick, and see the matching photos as thumbs in the main window.
However as I scroll further down, I can no longer select keywords - the mouseclick no longer highlights or selects. This happens rather incosnsistently - by which I mean, the point in the eyword list where the select stops working is not always the same place in the keyword list.
If I click several times on the same non-selecting keyword, LR4.4 jumps to taking 50% (exactly) of processor time (shown in task manager) , and the memory usage climbs steadily until all free RAM is consumed.
This is a small (~8000 image) catalogue, with ~2500 keywords, entirely non-hierarchical.
The catalogue is set to optimise on backup, weekly.
I've tried deleting and recreating the preferences file btw to no avail
I've been using PS 12.0 for a year without incident. Recently I installed Superstition beta and started experiencing crashes both in 13beta and 12. I can consistently reproduce a crash in CS5, Win7 SP1, x64, by opening an existing PSD and then switching to the Type tool. The crash occurs before I even get to see the type tool. I've replaced the prefs a million times using the CTRL+ALT+SHIFT on launch technique.
I have not change type management (not using any font managers at this time). My nVidia drivers are up-to-date (dual 9800m GTX), my RAM is good.
Any chance that Paint.NET could learn my preferred "save as" file type (it seems to insist on .png) - or even better provide the means to select a default file type?
Ive recently upgraded to the new GIMP 2.8 and I cant seem to save files as anything other than gimp project files. I open the extension box to select the file type and there just isnt the option anymore. Do i have to reinstall GIMP or should I revert back to 2.6? I wouldnt think they would get rid of the ability to save in different formats so there must be a problem somewhere.
I know I've been able to do it before, but now when I put the selection arrow (black arrow) into a line of type by double clicking, I am unable to then drag the cursor to select the row of type. Triple clicking does nothing.
In other words, double clicking with the selection tool places the cursor in a word, but how to then highlight the word??
In Preferences, it doesn't matter if the 'Double Click to Isolate' box is checked or not and the 'Object Selection by Path Only' is unchecked.
I am using an r1900 Epson a3 printer. I am trying to print my images on A3 paper however no matter what settings i change they always appear as a4. I have change the scale, fit to canvas and page set up all with no effect.
I have drawn a dwg drawing with few new layers and copy paste few layers from another dwg drawing. But I when I change from model space to paper space I cannot see anything. Drawing cane be seen on model space but in paper space it totally disappeared.
We have created one Style, but within this Style are two Dimension types (Dual and SIngle)
When a drawing from a model is created it defaults to the Dual Option and we can only select the Single Dimensions by individually selecting the Dimension and editing to Single Dimension, which can be time consuming.
Is there a way to select the Dimension type for the whole drawing?
