Lightroom :: Cannot Import From Epson Scanner V750 Pro - Unable To Read Preview
Apr 5, 2013
I cannot import files from an epson scanner V750 pro. The screen reads unable to read preview. I am scanning B/W negatives using 16 bit Grayscale and tiff image format?
I have just started to use an Epson GT 1500 scanner and immediately met with a problem in that I can not work out how the preview function operates and as Epson don't appear.
Using PS Elements 10 on my Mac OS 10.6 I cannot import images from my Epson CX 7450 scanner. Have had no such problem with PS Elements 8. When I select file, import, the options are limited and the scanner is not listed.
I would like to know how to scan negatives using my Epson V750 Pro. Previous Photoshop directly connected me to my 750 scanner. Only option on CS6 is images from device. Once I have scanned it is coming up in preview. I want it to come up as a psd.
I just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 6 to Elements 11 on a brand new iMac running OS X 10.8.2, but Elements 11 will not recognize my Epson Perfection 4990 PHOTO Scanner as an option to import from when I click on "File" then "Import." Is there a Plug-In that may be missing for this to operate as it used to in Elements 6 running on an older G5 Non-Intel processor? I don't have the new Elements 11 Disk to copy anything from, since I downloaded the program directly from Adobe.
I am a Canon shooter and a seasoned Lightroom user. About a month ago my Mac stopped allowing me to import images from my CF card into Lightroom. I have worked with Mac and Adobe to no avail. At this point I know that my Mac can see the card and will me allow me to download images into iPhoto. It will generate thumbnails in Lightroom, but will tell me that it's unable to read the images when I try a complete import. If I switch users on my Mac to a dummy user, I am able to import the same images off my CF card. I didn't changed any settings, at least not intentionally.
Preview works, but no Import from any SD or CF and even HD! Try internal and external card readers and create a new catalogue, no results. All files from cards or transfered to HD will open properly in PS!
Lightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".
I've just loaded debian 7 wheezy with gnome 3.8. When opening the gimp I go to CREATE but only find sane showing the cam ... I think the thing I need is called something like quiteinsane in order for gimp to see the epson stylus XS230 ...
When connecting my Sony A77 to the computer in order to import photos to Lightroom 3.5 I am not able to doubleclick on the tumbnail to show preview of the thumbnails. The thumbnails are showing, but it seems to be very low resolution, and when doubleclicking on a thumbnail the message "could not read preview" is displayed. If I remove the memory card from the camera and put the memory card into the cardreader on my laptop I can view high resolution thumbnails, and also get previews.
I am on a MacPro....OS X 10.6.8. I am running Adobe Photoshop CS5. I need to be able to run my EPSON 2450 flatbed scanner through Photoshop. But when I go to File > Import > it's not there.
Explain where I can find the TWAIN plug-in, where to load it and how to make it so it shows up under, "Import" so I can operate the scanner through Photoshop.
Just loaded CS5 on Mac 10.7. I downloaded and installed the latest OSX Epson 1640xl scanner software, and also copied the Twain plugin from the Adobe Goodies CD to the Photoshop > Plugins > Import/Export folder.
Rebooted the computer, power off and unplugged my USB scanner, fired it back up, restarted Photoshop, etc. It no longer shows up in Photoshop>File>Import
But Photoshop doesn't see my scanner at all. In fact, the TWAIN plugin doesn't even show up in the plugins folder list. Everything worked perfectly with Mac 10.6 I also took the scanner into a Epson dealer and the scanner works perfectly.
I am doing a scan, stand alone, but once the popup comes up to save the scan someplace, there isn't a 'save' button to save it! I have to close the popup and the scan isn't saved. CS4, and epson perfection 4490 Photo.
having problems with his Epson Perfection 3200 Photo scanner. He is using Photoshop 7.0. With Photoshop open he goes to 'import' and then clicks on 'Epson 3200 Photo' and he gets the following message
"Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the acqusition module interface"
and then it closes Photoshop. I have uninstalled all of the scanner software and reinstalled it and the same with the Photoshop 7.0 software but I still get the same error message.
How can I access my Epson Perfection 2400 Photo scanner after upgrading from PS CS4 to CS6? There is no Photoshop File/Export/Epson scanner listed anymore. I downloaded a TWAIN plug-in and loaded it in the PS Plug-in folder.
I am unable to link my Epson 3200 photo scanner to PS Elements 11 on my new iMac. I have tried downloading the software from the Epson website, but when I load it the nothing shows up. I moved the the Optional Plug-ins > Import Modules TWAIN plug in to the Plug-ins. That had no affect at Photoshop Elements 11>Support Files>Import.
On my old iMac I could link and download files from the Scanner.
Can't open LR 4.4. Get error mesage that LR can't read preview cache and needs to shut down. Says it will try to repair upon relaunch. Happened after battery on laptop shut down while I was in LR.
It did show the Epson Perfection 4870 Photo Scanner.
This is the window that comes up after clicking on File.> Import>WIA Support
The old scanner Epson 4870 Perfection Photo was listed above WIA Support and is still listed on Photoshop Elements 6, which also shows the V600, but, not Photoshop Elements 9 ?
Ps.This is a little frustratimg, it appears Premiere Elements 6 although older works far better, in the monitor and shows the V600 immediately in Pro mode ,just as well it was a free addition with the Epson Scanner.
I converted my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I cannot get my Epson Perfection 4870 photo scanner to work with it. I downloaded the driver and it took, but my scanner does not appear in Elements 11 as an import. I used Elements 3 and 7 before and these worked fine with the scanner.
I am trying to print on photo paper from Ligthroom 4 with the Epson DX8400 printer, on Windows 8. Yet I can't change the paper type. Is it possible that Lightroom doesn't like Windows 8 or is more likely that my printer doesn't like Windows 8?The screenshot shows all that I am offered in the porperties section
I recently upgraded from a mac mini to a macbook pro retina using migration assistant and time machine backup. All went well, and since all my photos were on an external drive, no problems there. However, when I try to import new photos, I see the images, but then get a list of the .CR2 files and an error message of "unable to read files." This is a Sandisk Extreme 16 GB SD card, and it still successfully works on the old mac. Following a similar issue in the forum, I checked permissions, and those appear to all be correct. I'm running LR 4.4.
I get a "could not be read" msg while trying to import NEF files to my new iMac. Running 10.7.4 and LR4.1, Camera Raw 7. It doesn't happen every time. To date, the only solution is to restart my computer and then I'm able to import the image files.
I tried to import files for the first time and LR 4.3 said they can't be read. I've already had difficulty with the install not working on my user account so I had to set up a new one for LR to work and now this.
The photos are coming up when Lightroom opens but they cannot be imported bc they 'cannot be read'. Some of these have previously been imported without any problems but none of them can be read now.
