AutoCAD Inventor :: Customizing Measure Tool
Apr 28, 2006Whenever we use measure tool it will show the a dialog box with valves of x,y,z, delta X, delta Y & delta Z. I want to customize the same as per the attached image.
Customize this, dialog box will not disappear(modal) after entering into any other command so no need to remember the values of x,y....etc.

Jun 11, 2012In the I properties project tab I would like to change the "Stock Number" name to "A.R.M.-PN:". I need to reference 2 part numbers in my IPT I properties. This will then show up on the Parts List as a column which I can add. Or I would like to add a new dialog box to the "Project Tab". Is there a easy way to do this in 2011 Inventor Professional?

May 23, 2012I have an embedded Excel file in my dwg file. I'd like to make it visible on the drawing. On the drawing though, it only displays however many rows existed when the sheet was inserted.
For example, when I clicked "Insert Object", only 1 row existed in the Excel sheet. I've now added 10 more rows, but still only the first row is visible.
How can I make the table on the drawing display the full view of the Excel file?

Jan 24, 2013Any way to add a new field into the materials database. We would like to be able to choose the material specification for the materials we use. So we would like to have a field for each of the materials where we could choose the material spec. It would also be great if we could then be able to connect this to our BOM. The second part I know should be able to be done but so far haven't found a way to add the material spec in like we would like.

Jul 15, 2013I would like to create a pull-down menu so that everyone can select a specific client and have all of the client specific settings be automatically set up like template file location, client block libraries, etc.
We have a lot of users with varying amounts of experience and have had trouble with people using the wrong templates, blocks, etc. Is there a list of key-in commands where I can find what I need to add into the .cuix file? Is there an easier way to set up client standards without forcing users to use a specific workspace?

Feb 27, 2013I am new to Civil 3D and need to customise the look of road profiles so they look like they were produced from any of our other civil design software packages that we use (to maintain standards between offices etc).
The attached picture is what I need them to look like. I want to show both the natural ground (the dotted line) and the design road line (solid). Then I want to write on the profile the station, natural level and the design level.
I've got the Mastering Civil 3D book (and a few others) sitting on my desk.I worked out how to turn off the grid on the default profile althoguh that was about it.

AutoCAD Architecture :: 2014 / Customizing CUIx Causes Loss Of Menus?
Aug 28, 2013Doesn't CUIx mean Custom User Interface?
Background: Using a new release of 2014 out of the box. Made some changes to the .PGP file, created a custom palette and dragged some tools and gave them some standardized styles. Worked fine all day.
Problem: The next morning I booted up ACA and the menu ribbon failed to load. At the command prompts suggestion I tried CUILOAD. Got the dialog box, found the ACA.CUIX file, but despite pressing the LOAD button nothing happened.
Fix: I looked into the folder where the ACA.CUIX file was located (first folder on the support path), noticed there was a ACA.bak.CUIX file in the same folder. I renamed the ACA.CUIX file and then took the .bak "extension" off of the other file. Everything loads fine... except no customization.
Odd note: Last night, after I closed all my applications I went to shut down my computer and got Windows 7 version of the Blue Screen of Death. I immediately rebooted and all looked OK, but I did not start ACA. Not sure if related but just thought I mention it.
Request: Is there a special step that I missed when creating a custom palette that caused it not to reload?
I tried attaching the offending .CUIx file but the forum rejected it by stating "The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type."

Sep 12, 2012I'm adding a reference system grid to my paper space viewport. The default text format for the military grid reference system is almost perfect, except for the figures that are superscripted (see attached figure) - which I would prefer are aligned on the same baseline as the larger text, but still at the smaller size. Is there a way to customise the text format so that the reference system remains dynamic, but I get the exact format I want?

Oct 27, 2011If I zoom to page in an IDW the paper space does not fill the screen. On my screen I have 15mm of space between the paper and edge of workspace.
Is there a way to make this fill the workspace by whichever is the greater size (height or width) of paper? I just want the page to fill the screen more.

Is there a way to remove the *Model* page setup entry from the list of Page Setups in the Page Setup Manager? This is the first time I am seeing *Model* in the list, and I suspect that it the reason I am not able to generate a PDF for this particular drawing. When I try, I get the following error:

I have this idea that removing *Model* from the list will do it. In addition to causing PDF creation failure, I believe it is also responsible for forcing the Model to always be in the Publish list, even though I have unchecked the "Include model when adding sheets" option. I can remove it from that list manually, but it comes back every time.

Aug 31, 2011I had this new script which is used in Unwrella2 so I placed it in the user interface as a new button in the tool bar, the problem is it has no icon so, I wanted to customize one for it. I start searching tile I found how to and I followed the description..I customize a button icon 24*24 it had to be *.bmp 24-bit(I also found that to have an alpha channel it has to be 32_bit 8red 8green 8blue 8alpha) or 16 bit it must contain an alpha channel which I did all of this I even toke one of the original ones from the UI folder and I customize it then every time I copy the new button in icon folder and restart max 2012 and go to “edit button appearance” and search for the new button nothing there I named the new button right “group-name”_24i.bmp but still the max 2012 don’t want to read it.
in the image attached a button icon which should give me a new group called Unwrella with two buttons. I even found some original buttons which is split in two file (file *_24a.bmp contain the Alpha as RGB) and (file *_24i.bmp contain 24_bit colored RGB) I even tried this but still max 2012 don’t read it.

What type of file would i need to model the car in in order to have it cut out using a cnc router/five axis mill? Would it be the same for wheels (made out of 2mm plastic)?
