View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm creating Annotation for pipe diameter on a water main atlas. I have spans of pipe that are 50-200 feet in length. I often don't want the Annotation for pipe size to be placed at the midpoint of the line segment. I'd prefer it to be placed at the location where I 'select' on the feature. It seems like .LAGELPT, .CENTER, AND .CENTROID all place Anno at the midpoint of the line. X1,Y1 places Anno at the start of the line. X2,Y2 places Anno at the end of the line.
Is there an Expression String or Property I couldspecify, that would place the Annotation at the point where the feature was selected on-screen?
I work at a metal fab plant as far as drawing im learning here is my problem i can draw a part save it as a dxf file but when i load it onto flow path instead of a soild cut line it a broken line.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am making a design for a centrifugal water pump, the rotor was no problem, but I'm having some trouble designing the top case. I thought it would be easiest to create the channel for the water outlet using a loft feature.
I attached the ipt. there are two sketches, and I need a loft from the small to the large one, all the way around the circle. when you see it you'll probably understand what the result should be, but, no matter what I try, either I get an oddly shaped loft, or an error.
where the setting is to reverse the flow of a pipe. I have the flow arrow shown in the wrong direction plus am showing a negative slope on a pipe, which should never be done.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a simple catchment area that I've routed to an inlet and then to an outfall. The 10 year storm peak flow going into the inlet is 3.91 cfs and my flow in the link to the outfall is 10.55 cfs. I do not understand why it is increasing going into the pipe. I've attached the pdf results here because for some reason it won't let me attach.spf file.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.

View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently running inventor 2013 premium still on the free trial until it runs out and i register it.
I am trying to create my own tube and pipe style for a 22mm copper heating pipe run.
I have been through and created the parts and successfully published them into a user contents library.
I start a new tube and pipe run in an assembly. then go manage>tube and pipe styles.
I then hit 'New' i fuill out the details, select my pipe, bend and coupler...everything seems ok, i hit save.
it doesnt appear in the styles selection menu to the left (where it should and did on the tutorial) and whats more when i try and exit or do anything else the 'Save Edits?' warning comes up (clicking save doesnt work) This is the second tube and piping run in this assy. but is a whole new run rather than route.is it a bug? or lack of privileges?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to use the Split Solid tool to partially split a circle and have multiple solids after.
Ex) I would like to cut the tank at the 180 and 270 deg marks. Using the split tool still cuts through 0 and 90. I tried drawing a line from a top view that started from center going through 180, but it still goes through 0 as well.
I've attached an example shell of where I would like to have 6 solids after.
Is there a way in inventor if you have an existing pipe route to create a new pipe run and place that existing route into the new run.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create pipe route using the tube & pipe run. And its not constrained when I try to drag away. I tried grounding the components which is not working either. since the routing opens in 3dsketch its kinda tricky to make it fully constrained.

With such purpose you can create a beautiful beach.

Next I created a profile when the profile was completed I got broken lines and spikes for my pipe not a polyline that followed the natural ground. View 3 Replies View RelatedI made an animation of a small prototype engine I am designing (attached as video 3) and I would like to be able to show fluid flowing in from the injector and into the cylinder, through the dumbbell valve and out the bottom, autodesk inventor does not seem to have this capability and its looking like my only option is to learn 3ds max and rebuild my animation in that.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have attached a zip file of the engine assembly and its components, I couldn't attach one component because it's too big so I hope everything will still work without it, I'm hoping to show gas flow starting at the injector, into the cylinder, through the dumbell valve on the piston and out the bottom of the cylinder, if there is any way to do it in autodesk I'm willing to try as I just don't have a good enough grasp of 3dsMax yet.

My question is how do I know where the start and end is and if I need to create more than one network for my project. I have a current project location and I am assuming I am to create a network for the entire location?

we have simple assemblies with bolted weldments and few misc. parts. most assemblies are 3-20 parts a typical project would have:
-a few laser cut parts, some plastic and hardware. these items need to have part drawings sent to a vendor.
-some in house cretaed parts that need a drawing
-assembly drawing for our shop
i think i am seeing that by having one single IDW its getting hard to send all the drawings to the people that need them. an example would be if a vendor calls about one part, i may send him a 4 page PDF and tell him to look on sheet 2.the other issue that i have is that my standard work flow is:
-design a product
-hand of to another dept for them to enter SKU numbers for parts and assemblies.
so my file names never match what the final product name is. i have been using fields in the iPROP, but it would be nice to revise file names when SKUs are created. im guessing vault would be the tool for something like that?
I am using AutoCAD 2012 and I noticed that the dish/dome command is gone. How do I make a dish?
