Everytime I try to run 3ds max design I get this error messenge
" An error has occurred and the application will now close. Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene? "
It happens during the lunch screen after loading all the plugins. I searched a lot and tried everything, from updating the video drivers to changing the video card used, to changing the graphics sittings to reinstalling it, still nothing changed the messege shows and the app closes.
I am using Paintshop Pro X2. I've created a script that goes something like this.
1. Save original size as jpg in folder 1. 2. Resize 50% 3. Save as jpg in folder 2. 4. Resize 100x77 5. Save as jpg in folder 3. 6. Close file.
Everything works great except for one thing. During the save as operations the script remembers the original file names from when I record the script. Is it possible to replace that old static file name in the script with the file name of the current image?
Is there a macro/script/deisel that will automatically print a pdf (cute pdf autocad lt 2007) to current plot settings in current drawing directory and give it the current drawing view name and number? Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.
Technique that can check the current plotter name for the current tab and assign it to a variable? i.e. can it be assigned to a variable to check if if equals "myplotter1". The next step - is there a technique to change the plotter name to "myplotter2.pc3".
I have partially done the latter part of this in the past using the -plot command line to ASSIGN a new plotter but I would really like to only run the routine if it really needs to.
Inside my current action, I have this Axis+Image with some keyframes on opacity and transformation, also some keyframes on X blur/Y blur in my Media list. How do I recycle this setup for other Action?
I tried the save selected object, but when I load it from other action, using Add Nodes + Media method, only the Axis and Image show up (with keyframes). The Media of it shows empty.
A thread exists from 2011 that is now closed with a reply from "adobe" saying they are working on providing updated dialogue boxes. [URL] ...
The reply from Adobe stated that they have to support legacy operating systems, which I'm pretty sure is handled by the installer, so it's a sad excuse. One could simply say "if XP" load this dialogue hook, if win 7 use this hook.
What is the status of this lack of effort?
We waste more time trying to save a file with this old school dialogue than is required.
I use the same label style for multiple objects (surfaces) with different layers (i.e. Concrete, Pavement, etc.) I have the label style set to Layer 0, to take on the layer properties I want the label on. When I insert a label, it defaults to Layer 0, then I have to change it's layer. Is there a way to insert a label on the current layer?
When using the Associate Project to Current Drawing or Associate Project to Multiple Drawings command(s) where does this association data get stored? When using the Multiple Drawings option I do not see the save time/date being modified on the individual DWG's.
I also do not note any file being modified under the shortcut working folder which would contain associated drawing names. How does C3D "know" what project a file is associated with?
I know you can "pull" styles from a drawing (maybe the template) into your current drawing.
Is there a way to "push" them from the current drawing to another on?
Here is what I am picturing:
Right click on a style on the settings tab and choose "Send to Template"
"Template" would either be a predefined DWT file or it would open a standard file selection dialog to select one.....and this would copy the selected style into the template.
How can I have an offset alignment that I created be the current label so when I start to pick offset of my current alignment I do not want to have to go back and change the label style to my own label style.
Using C3D 2010, I have a drawing that has a horizontal alignment and it is stationed. I see text at every 100 feet and tick every 50 feet. Perfect. I have that drawing x-refed into another drawing. The station ticks take on the properties of the current layer in the drawing they are x-refed into. If I change to layer defpoints, the tick to not plot! Shouldn't the ticks be fixed to a certain layer?
I love annotative scaling of objects it is a great feature. I am however having one problem that I'm not sure if I've missed a setting or something. Is there a way to prevent civil 3d from scaling your annotative objects based on the view scale you are looking at? For example if I zoom out (in model space or max viewport) to show my entire drawing and regen, civil 3d scales all my text and blocks to an enomous scale esentially blocking my entire drawing with solid colour. also if I zoom into a small area to do some detail work all my text becomes microscopic and unuseable. This makes adjusting text so it doesn;t overlap other text very difficult if it never appears at the correct size. Is there a way to freeze annotative objects at thier correct scale (for the current viewport scale) so they dont scale simply because you zoom in or out on a drawing?
How can you force the rebuild of a corridor in C3D 2014 even if the corridor thinks it is up to date? (no yellow exclamation shield icon).
We have .NET subassemblies that react to changes in the location of objects in XRef'd files.
In C3D 2012 when we changed the XRef'd objects position, we would right click the corridor and select rebuild and the subassemblies would rerun (no matter what).
In C3D 2014 if you select rebuild, the corridor does nothing if it thinks nothing has changed.
i have this drawing which i created data reference to the wrong project in the wrong coordinate system and worked off that. then now i am trying to correct it. so i copied the dtm and did coordinate transformation and got that right. now the model drawing is still linked to the original dtm from the other project folder.
if i remember right back in 2007 version there was a completely built in shortcut editor which allows you to change the path in current drawing. now it's all greyed out. there is no access. so is there a way to bypass this? probably pretty common thing to do. say you want to try different version of the same object to try your design just swap it back and forth.
They should make a right click button on the data shorts in current drawing and says "browse data reference" not show up when only broken reference occurs.
one way i can think off now is copy the files to local. disable network drive, then let it broken reference show up then browse to desktop one then delete desktop one and hopefully it get the broken reference again and not look for the very original one. i think it's probably gonna do that, there is some "hidden" thing stored in the object to point to the original path which not available to users.
Civil 3D 2012 Work: Xeon W3503, 12GB, Quadro 2000, Dell P2211H x 2 Home: 3930k, 12GB, GTX 590, U3011, QX2710
I have been trying to find the best/most efficient way to make a pavement grade plan for my current project. The only two ways that I know of are:
1) Home Tab->points->Create Points-Alignments->Measure Alignment then select my mainline alignment, enter a profile, enter an offset to create the points. Then assigned elevations of the points to my "pavement" surface.
2) Make lines perpendicular to your alignment (I used sample lines, exploded them to a block reference)->Make a feature line and snap at each 25' segment->Assigned elevations of the feature line to my "pavement" surface->used custom line and curve labels to label start segment z value.
My issue with option 1) is on my project there are multiple curves and I don't know of anyway that I can have the labels follow my alignment. I think the way the alignment labels work is if I would edit the label I would have to manually edit the angle and with multiple curves I don't think this would work the best.
My issue with option 2) is my project is roughly 1.75 miles long with 8 lanes and 12' shoulders, I would have to make roughly 4000 elevation points on my feature lines.
We have survey files that we xref into our design files. In the survey files themselves, the points don't change color. When we xref them in, the point markers (only the circular node on the actual point, not the line coming off of it) take on the color of whatever the current layer is in the drawing, only fixable by changing the current letter and regenerating.
I have 1 Next button that is used on the timeline. Each position has a pause then a play so there is only 1 button. I need to get the label info so I know where I am so I can save the location of the timeline that the user was at if they exited before they finished the process.
the properties palette started only showing the current properites for the drawing and not the properties of the entity selected. what causes this i am using autocad civil 3d 2013.
Lisp program/macro or what ever is needed to be able to set a save reminder.
What i mean is, i want something to popup while i'm using autocad to remind me that i have not saved the drawing for a while. i know there is the autosave but that drives me crazy and quite ofter interrupts my train of thought/process and also more often then not causes autocad to chash/hang for rediculas amount of time. 12d model has such a thing as what i'm asking so i know that it is not impossible to do it.
So what i want is simply a dialog box to popup somewhere easily visible with a simple "ok" to save or "Cancel" not to save. It MUST NOT interrupt anything that i'm doing (like autosave does) it must just popup somewhere on the screen. And also have the ability to be able to set the reminder time.
I'm running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 on Windows 7 Professional. I just got this new computer and the AutoCAD software was recently installed. As I always do when I get a new version of ACAD, I set up my Profile settings within the 'options' menu and save to my personal Profile, and set that profile as current.
Then I pull up all my typical toolbars, Layer manager, Xref manager and all that good stuff to my workspace and save a new workspace with my name, and set that workspace as current.
Now, with this new version of ACAD, every time I restart the program my settings are all gone. Even though my 'options' Profile is still saved in there, it's not set to current, so I have to do that every time. As well as my workspace, which doesn't appear the same way I set it up and saved it as a new workspace:
The ToolSpace, the command bar and the Xref manager disappears every time.
One of our Dell workstations has recently decided it will no longer save our CAD drawings to the network. Never had this issue before this week, haven't changed anything that we are aware of. No one else is having network issues. We have connected the computer to a different network outlet at another station, that has no effect on the problem.
When you attempt to save, if you watch the command line it will tell you "Cannot save drawing to K/Work Order/Project/drawing name.dwg, saved copy to K/Work Order//Project/(misc letters and numbers).tmp"
It then deletes the original drawing from its location and saves this temp file.
I would like to know if there is a lisp that would run every time I run the hatch command? I have autosave on, but I never remember to do a good clean save before I run hatch. I remember as autocad locks up and crashes! I would like a list that would prompt me to save when I hit hatch with option of yes, save or cancel. is this a tall order?
I use civil3D 2008 & now have an unexpected problem where the workspace profile settings will not save so that each time I start the program I have to reset everything, even when I open the program a dialogue box opens asking which workspace I want from a list, I select my saved workspace then tick don’t show me this again & then another dialogue box comes up asking me if I want to see the new feature workshop with options of yes, maybe later or No, don’t show me this again, I tick the No, do not show me this again, then the workspace opens up with the performance tuner box in the right hand bottom corner which I have to close, then I have to reset settings in tools/ options to my liking even though my workspace is the current default, the paths are correct & the main civil.CUI file updates each time I shut down the program. However each time I relaunch I have to go through all this again?
I have a drawing that when I am in a layout and run QSAVE (or if autosave fires), the screen "flashes". More specifically the layout disappears for a second and during this time, the entire screen is black (the animated GIF below plays a bit fast)
This only happens in one particular drawing, and any drawing this one is xrefed into. Before I recreate this drawing from scratch?
EDIT: If I turn off REGENAUTO, the flash does not happen. Still, something is weird about this drawing.
