May 7, 2013I'm having big issues trying to get a .SID picture to plot. The .SID shows up in the print preview page, but then never makes it to the plotter.

View 6 RepliesFor some reason, when I am plotting on some drawings, the HP Designjet 5500 is printing out a tan background. I've tried copying and pasting into a new drawing, which has fixed it before, but not this time. I'm using Autocad 2008. 20120919_143304.jpg
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using Photoshop CS, I've arranged text on a white background and saved it as a variety of file types (.jpg, .tif, .psd, etc.) and used RGB and CMYK color profiles. On screen it looks correct but when I print it, it comes out with a tan colored background. I've tried both a large scale plotter and a small color laser printer and get the same result.

When i create a document in my photoshop cs3 with white object or white background, when i print on my laser or ink jet, it print with maybe 1 or 2 percent of red...i try in rgb or cmyk but it's the same thing.
Is there a way to eliminate the background surrounding the image before printing to a jpg? Currently, I print to a jpg then use another app to crop all the black (my background color) from around the actual image. Surely there's a way to not print the background and limit the file to just the image without having to resort to using the fixed image sizes. Does such a thing exist in LR4.1?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I print to a jpg all I get is the background color. I can't see any pattern as to when this occurs and when it doesn't. (LR4, Win7, original files are CR2) ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where we print a set of drawings from SSM and a couple of the drawings (not the complete set) had detail call outs with hashtags where the field didn't update.
This is with the FIELDEVAL setting for these drawings at 31. You can open that drawing and print it and the callouts populate fine. I had another user in the same office try and print the drawings 2 weeks later and the callouts populated.
I tried right after that (I am in a different office 45 miles away) and the callouts didn't populate. I"m thinking this has got to be some type of network latency issue because it's very sporadic.
I recently had to re-format my hard drive and lost the print driver that communicates with the Kip Plotter that I have and Autocad civil 3d 2011. I am needing the Kip10.hif print driver but cannot find it anywhere on the web that I have looked, where I can download this driver, I have the disk for the Plotter but if only includes the drivers for civil 3d 2009.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of printing Autocad reports using a different web browser than IE? My computer has lost the use of IE so I've loaded Firefox. I can no longer access any of the reports. I use the reports mostly for point print outs but I have used some of the others as well. I'm using C3D 2009.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded to Civil 3d 2014 and have had a strange box show up after printing to PDF. We use Acroplot to print to PDF. Please see attachment. It has only happened to 3 users so far and one user's system stopped doing it.
Also experience a slow open and processing initially when you made the switch to 2014 (we upgraded from 2011 c3d). We suspect it may be a conversion of files causing this. Many of the xrefs or DS have not been saved in 2014.
I have a drawing with a screen and behind it is an xref drawing. When I print it to our KIP plotter the lines and other items behind the screen do not plot.
Here is how it is setup and what I have tried
The Xref itself is on its own layer and all the layers of the xref are set to a color that has thickness of .0138 and a 35% screen.
The hatch resides in the active drawing and is set to a color that is also .0138 thick but at a 20% screen.
The hatch is a DOT hatch at scale 1, but I have also tried it as a solid hatch
Lines merge is on and needs to be on.
I have made sure that the hatch is sent to the back and that there is no overlapping of data from other sources liek a second hatch or the same data in another xref etc.
I also tried setting the xref layers to another color that is .0256 thick with a 35% screen, but the results where the same. If i change the xref layers to a .0138 thick color with 100% screen, they do print over the hatch then.
I have an Imac with Mountain Lion, CS5 and have just replaced my Epson R2400 with an R3000. Now the white background round the image is covered in small cyan and light grey dots. If the image fills the paper, then the margin is affected. But when trying to proof colours I am going through loads of paper as I cannot now print a smaller image on a larger piece of paper, then re-feed the same sheet through with another small image as the paper is now pale blue.
The R2400 was fine for proofing, as the image alone would print and then the printer fed through the remainder of the sheet without printing, leaving the rest of the paper white. I understood from that , that it was most likely a Photoshop issue and some sort of conflict with the Paper profiles. But, I have checked the profiles on my Mac and they are all version 2 profiles. I note that the few profiles that do work without the blue colour do have 'bkpt' in their profiling and that the ones for the paper I actually do use and in fact the majority of the profiles, do not contain 'bkpt'.
How can i print my drawing (1400 * 250)m on several A4 paper size,I'm using C3d 2012.

I'm trying to print the hypsometry but when I do it, the surface doesn't appear. The problem is the same with other types of elevations.
I checked the layers properties, but it doesn't seem to be the problem as all the layers are printables.
I can print the hypsometry in the model space.
I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and Adobe X Pro. When I print to PDF (using plotter DWG to PDF) the hatching for the slopes analysis does not show up. I have other hatching in the plan and that shows up, along with the outline for the slopes. Its just the actually slope hatching that doesn't show up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Civil 3D 2013, in the Toolbox tab, I go to Report Manager, and select the Points_List, which then creates an HTML file.
I open it up in Chrome and when I print it, part of the point information at the bottom of Page 1 is cut off and shows up at the top of Page 2.
Is there a way to fix this?
Using 2010 Civil3D and trying to use "Reports" to print a point list and I am getting error:
Export LandXML is currently is currently not supporting the following drawing units:
Millimeters, Centimeters, Decimeters, Inches.
I have used the unit command to make sure I am in feet. Niot sure what else to look at.
Inserted an alignment line table. It's in model space and viewported (locked) to the layout. On the screen it looks fine but during print preview and printing it comes out too small. Can this be controlled?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm strying to strat an SSA project from scratch, and I want to use an AutoCAD DWG file with a street map and contours as a background. When I try to import it into SSA 2013, nothing displays. Selecting the CAD Layers button does nothing either.
I can import images just fine, but have been unable to get an imported DWG file to display.
Any way to change the default settings for the background mask used with Mtext?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince we updated to C3D 2012, our background masks are not plotting. They show up and seem to work properly in both Model and Paper spaces as well as print preview.
They do not plot whether it is selected through the MText dialog or in an Object Label dialog box.
I have made sure the draw order was correct and made sure that the "Lines Overwrite" option is selected.
This is happening on all three of our workstations which are a mix of XP and Win 7. We are printing to a KIP 3000 and I have made sure the drivers are up-to-date.
Where I can get started with a lisp routine that will apply or remove from a selection of text objects (or MLeaders), a background mask set to standard 1.5 coverage; fill color set to background?

This issue is specific to one drawing. It seems to effect all background masks regardless of style. They are set to use drawing background color. And border option is set to false in the label styles.
The last items I worked on in the last sesson where to create a corridor and an intersection.
Also, why the pen table is printing correctly that would work as well. The attached image was printed using a black/white pen file. Go figure.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs with every ACAD update, how to do the same task differently and discovering the useful functions that have been removed. With 2014 comes Live Maps which apparently killed Base Jump. But here's the problem, when running just basic ACAD, I can load the background image using Live Maps, but with the same drawing opened in C3D, no image. Using the GEOGRAPHICLOCATION command causes, well, nothing to happen either. Background image to load in C3D? Not being able to plot the image will be the next fun hurdle that will only cause more frustration I am sure.
