With 2014 comes Live Maps which apparently killed Base Jump. But here's the problem, when running just basic ACAD, I can load the background image using Live Maps, but with the same drawing opened in C3D, no image. Using the GEOGRAPHICLOCATION command causes, well, nothing to happen either. Background image to load in C3D? Not being able to plot the image will be the next fun hurdle that will only cause more frustration I am sure.

The photoshop TIFF I manipulated and saved is simply an image with the grey and white checkered background. There is only one layer. I assumed that this meant that it would import into the Quark doc without any background color but there is still a white background.

Since the image has different colors, the textcolor should ajust to the underlying image.
If the image color is dark, the color of the text sould be light or the other way round.
Im new with Paint .Net. What i would like to do is get an image which is 4248 x 3163 and resize it to around 250 px - this was done successfully however the next part of this task was to paste this image onto another background and float it to the right. So you know this is supposed to be a logo.
Now should i create another new paint .net page with the size i have in mind and then paste it to the right?
If yes how could i create a nice background that blends into the image? The type of background i have in mind is a few lines with waves flowing left to right and fading away.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 11. I designed a book cover with Microsoft Word 2010 and saved the file as a Pdf. I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Pixel size can be 1,000 or more. I did go to the library to get reference books but, I can't ascertain from these books how to do this. I am a beginner to Photoshop and realize I will have to get training for future projects. I wanted to upload an image from my computer to show you the book cover but there was a dialogue box that appeared saying the file was too large to upload. The book cover I designed is 8.5' x 11.0"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a high-res desktop background image (1680 x 1050) with a gradient-fill, but the "steps" between the color changes in the background are obvious and I'd like them to be smoothed out. I know that the fill steps are much smoother when a shape is smaller, but I want this to be high-quality and sharp at full size.
Can the "steps" be adjusted to be smaller, or is there a better way I could go about achieving a smoother fill?

I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I am using my CS2 on OSX and when I view the image in a full screen mode the color around the image is grey, well it used to be grey but it is blue now. How do I change it back to neutral grey?

I have created one that excludes Civil objects (Excel Civil.jpg) but when I add a filter for excluding xrefs as well the Civil objects appear in the filter again indeed all the layers are included again (Excel Xref.jpg) if I invert the filter nothing is displayed.
I am trying to create a block and include attributes that have the background masked. I know how to mask the background in mtext but am curious if it is possible to do on attributes.

Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.

I would like to remove the bg from a small image, ie make it's bg transparent, and place that small image on top of a large image, a banner. It does it with every, single background image that i've ever used. Recently, i've started to just not use them, but i really need to put a background with some of these for a Job Fair for our company. If you see below, the piping (i know it shouldn't be THAT reflective but that's what they want) becomes slightly see through as well as the hand rails and foot boards..

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm strying to strat an SSA project from scratch, and I want to use an AutoCAD DWG file with a street map and contours as a background. When I try to import it into SSA 2013, nothing displays. Selecting the CAD Layers button does nothing either.
I can import images just fine, but have been unable to get an imported DWG file to display.
I am having some problem with plotting Raster image.
From time to time I need to use raster image as a background such as the example in the attachment. Here you can see that the raster image is only plotting half of the image.
I have been given an incomplete plan view of a site with access roads and have been asked to extend the roads to meet up with a main road off site. Not having any survey points I figure the most accurate thing to do was to screenshot a Google map image, import it into my drawings and trace it. I'm struggling to scale the map image to my existing drawings.
The problem I'm having is when i click the image to scale, it obscures the view of the drawing, so I can't see anything to reference. Is there a way to make the image transparent? Or to have it permanently at the back.
I have installed Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 on one of my users' workstation and one of the several problems she is having I can't find info on anywhere: When she uses the DWG to PDF driver she is getting strange artifacts that, at first glance, look like little blocks randomly placed around her drawings. These are always over/ in viewports. They do NOT show up in plot preview. I tried plot and publish. Both give same results. When zoomed in you can see they are tiny little viewport control dialog boxes that seem to have been placed on the plot at random.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSince we updated to C3D 2012, our background masks are not plotting.They show up and seem to work properly in both Model and Paper spaces as well as print preview.
They do not plot whether it is selected through the MText dialog or in an Object Label dialog box.
I have made sure the draw order was correct and made sure that the "Lines Overwrite" option is selected.
This is happening on all three of our workstations which are a mix of XP and Win 7. We are printing to a KIP 3000 and I have made sure the drivers are up-to-date.
Where I can get started with a lisp routine that will apply or remove from a selection of text objects (or MLeaders), a background mask set to standard 1.5 coverage; fill color set to background?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy background masks is displaying a border (which is not desired) and they are not masking the backound but instead are masking the text. What gives? (see attached)
This issue is specific to one drawing. It seems to effect all background masks regardless of style. They are set to use drawing background color. And border option is set to false in the label styles.
The last items I worked on in the last sesson where to create a corridor and an intersection.
Also, why the pen table is printing correctly that would work as well. The attached image was printed using a black/white pen file. Go figure.
