How do you get pipes to show on the profiles when there is a side pipe from a different alignment that enters an inlet?
I went to Profile View Properties / Pipe Networks and checked the side pipe to draw and changed the style overide to crossing, but nothing shows in the profile.

One of the things I seem to struggle with is being able to depict a single pipe when it needs to be shown in one profile as a crossing pipe, and another profile where you you show a lenghwise slice through the pipe. I end up tracing the pipe with eliptical objects where I'm cutting across the pipe and setting up more for the lengthwise/sideview of the pipe. Is there a way to have two different styles for the same pipe, one for a cross cut and one for a lengthwise slice?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm slowly getting familiar with the new pressure pipe tools. So far I like the layout compass but I'm finding the rest to be rather cumbersome to work with.
One problem I have is how to straighten portions of a pipe in profile after fitting it to a surface profile. Each pipe ends up segmented according to it's cut length property. Typically after fitting it to a surface profile we want to straighten the pipe between critical points along the profile. I don't see any way to do this aside from dragging each segment. Is there a way to remove, add or adjust the length of individual segments?
I don't see any other than the videos provided in the new features catalog.

I am trying to place my pipe invert labels at the actual point of the invert. When using the pipe label style composer, I have selected Anchor Point to be "Bottom Inner Diameter". Why is it that the label style still imports into the center of the pipe? No matter which anchor point I choose the label still inserts to the middle of the pipe. Is there a hidden setting that I am missing?

I can change the profile view style graphic exaggeration, but the pipes and associated labels do not rescale. Is there a way to force the pipes and labels to update to the new vertical exaggeration?

I'm having a problem with profile shortcuts showing up under multiple alignments. I have 16-alignments and profiles in their own drawings. I didn't create the shortcuts right away as I was still figuring out how I wanted the project dir structure. When I had that solved, I started creating the shortcuts. When I checked them, some of the alignments had up to 6-profiles from other alignments listed under them. One alignment had 3-profiles, and not one of them was for the alignment.
I removed all the profile shortcuts and started bringing them in again. Same problem. This was after shutting C3D down, cleaning up the tmp files and restarting.
There are shortcuts for 36 other alignments, and none of them appear to be affected, only these last 16. Validate Data Shorcuts doesn't do anything.
I am using civil 3d 2012.
I have a network that I showed in a profile view and, to creat my proposed pipes network I simply copied the pipes and structures and used network split.
Now I have two networks, but when I project those pipes and structures into a profile they are not visible.
If I check the profile view properties and look at the pipe networks tab, all the pipes are shown as drawn.
I cannot find a way to only have pipes in profile view to only show the invert (bottom) of the pipe. All my pipes are running around the same elevation and the profile is pretty busy with both invert and crown of pipe shown.

I've been having a problem with a pipe structure not showing up in a profile view. I have a single pipe network with everything (pipes and other structures) showing up in the profile when I select them, right-click, and click on "Draw Parts in Profile". Like I said, this works for all the other pipes and structures in the profile except one. When I select the structure individually and try to draw it into the profile, it still won't work. A friend told me to make sure that the structure is within the surface, and it is.

I have a typical storm sewer pipe network in a drawing by itself with an alignment. I data referenced both of these into another drawing. I draw the pipe network in the profile view I created and the pipes that run with the road show up fine. Every once in awhile there is a lateral storm sewer pipe that runs across the road. When I draw these in the profile view they show up, but, only the pipes that are skewed to the alignment show up. If the pipe is perfectly perpendicular to the alignment it does not show up. I have two styles setup. One main one that shows the inner and outer pipe walls and another one for overrides for the crossing pipes and that stlye has crossing pipe walls turned on.
Why is it though only the skewed pipes show up as ellipses in my profile view but the perpendicular pipes do not?
I have a drawing with a couple of profiles and some pipe networks. One alignment is collinear with the pipe network and another crosses the networks. I want to show the pipe crossing as well as the longitudinal on it companion alignment. If I set the profile setting for the pipe display to show the pipes crossing I don't get the longitudinal and if I try to assign the different style to the crossing pipes the plan view disappears. So, how should I set my styles to get a crossing pipe and a longitudinal in the same file?

Is there a Function in the expressions that equates to a Non-Existent or Null Parameter. Ie.

I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.

Pipe network storm pipes: Fairly new to Civil3D and trying to set up parts list for the storm sewer pipe and would like the plan view to appear as it does currently. We use a polyline for centerline of pipe, similar to dashed linetype but line and space are the same, width set to pipe width.

Also I "insert" manhole every 400' per local code requirements using the command "network layout tools; structures only. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a simple loft to show smashing the end of a pipe. I created the work planes based from the middle of the part. I placed a transition sketch and then a final sketch along with a center of the part sketch. When I could not get the transition to work I went back and added a sketch on the end of the pipe though I don't think it is needed. I still get nothing. I even followed the selection procedures from Wikihelp with no change.

View 3 Replies View Relatedan old box of Crane Museo paper to make some prints on my Epson 3800. I downloaded and installed the Museo profile from Crane almost a year ago, and it shows up in the Windows/sys32/spool/drivers/color directory, along with all my other profiles.
But when I tried to soft proof the image in CS3, the Museo profile did not appear in the list in the Soft Proof dialog. On closer look, there were a few other profiles that also failed to appear.
Is there any way to manually add these profiles to the Soft Proof list? I always thought that the Soft Proof drop down list just picked up the entire "...../color" directory?
I am using lightroom 5 on a windows 8 pc and can not get any camera calibration profiles to show up. I have 14 profiles for my Sony SLT-A65 in my cameraprofiles folder and a corresponding camera folder with also has these profiles. I have checked all file attributes and the only thing I see differrent from some other camera profiles is the file ownership is adminisrator instead of system. Also Photoshop does not see any camera calibration profiles either. I have done a lightroom installation repair from original disk which didn't fix. I have all my lens profiles which work fine. I have tried renaming profiles from SLT-A65V to SLT-A65 to match what shows up on displayed file information.

But now the profiles don't show up any more in LR 5.3.
I have checkes the desitnation-folder. And in windows explorer i can see every profile. I have downloaded the x-rite dng profile-manager, and it also shows up all profiles.
I can't find my camera profiles in acr...only shows matrix. I have used them in the past but now they are gone.

I have 2 alignemnts and 2 profiles, is there a way to to combine both alignment profiles to one profile? What I am doing is moving the centerline of a road over 10 feet, so that is why I have 2 alignments (existing CL and new CL). So what I want to show on one profile is existing centerline, existing centerline of new centerline, and proposed centerline of new centerline.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil 3D 2012. I am drawing a water line in a profile with a vertical scale of 1" = 10'. I am trying to draw lines at 45 deg angles to account for standard fittings.
Now, I tried to block a 45 deg angle and exaggerate the y scale, but for some reason this does not work well mathematically. Is there a way to draw lies at a certain slope, or at a certain angle from another line, while taking into consideration the scale exaggeration?
