Feb 2, 2014
I have installed X-Rite's Colochecker Passport for a long time, and a im using it to create camera-profiles in every shoot.
But now the profiles don't show up any more in LR 5.3.
I have checkes the desitnation-folder. And in windows explorer i can see every profile. I have downloaded the x-rite dng profile-manager, and it also shows up all profiles.

I just bought me a new canon EOS 700D, the x-rite Colorchecker Passport and photoshop elements 11. I took a photo of the colorchecker (.CR2-raw file) and followed their instructions to make my own camera profile. Meaning I opened the .CR2-Raw file with Photoshop elements, didn't make any changes to it just directly saved it as a .DNG file. Opened it in the colorchecker software "Color Checker Passport", it recognized the colorchecker on the photo and so I pressed the button to make the profile and to save it. I then restarted Photoshop elements and opened the photo with the colorchecker on it again as a .CR2 raw file. In the instructions it now says change the camera profile to your just made profile, but when I scrolled down the profiles there were only the standard profiles "Adobe Standard, Camera faithfull, camera landscape" and so on. Mine was not there. So I checked the paths were my profile and the standard profiles are saved to. I then put my new profile into the same folder as the standard profiles for my camera, restarted PSE 11 (and the computer after a couple of tries) and tried again. Again my profile was not in the scroll down menu where it should be. I even reinstalled all the software concerned with this but it didn't work. My system is Windows 7 64 bit and photoshop elements 11 and X-Rite software are updated.
the .dcp camera profiles I make with the colorchecker software are only 2 kb big but the standard profiles are more like 200 kb.Additiv after reinstalling everything and updating again, the camera profile folder for my canon eos 700D is missing. The folder for teh newest model of that line is the 650D.

I am using lightroom 5 on a windows 8 pc and can not get any camera calibration profiles to show up. I have 14 profiles for my Sony SLT-A65 in my cameraprofiles folder and a corresponding camera folder with also has these profiles. I have checked all file attributes and the only thing I see differrent from some other camera profiles is the file ownership is adminisrator instead of system. Also Photoshop does not see any camera calibration profiles either. I have done a lightroom installation repair from original disk which didn't fix. I have all my lens profiles which work fine. I have tried renaming profiles from SLT-A65V to SLT-A65 to match what shows up on displayed file information.

Camera profiles created prior to the update to 4.3 still work, but when exporting an image to the software now, a command window pops up VERY briefly "OMG Error #15: Initializing libiomp5md.dll, but found libguide40.lib already initialized." I found both files in c:windowssystem32, but when I looked into a backup copy of my drive from prior to the 4.3 update, neither file is present, leading me to believe they were installed by the update. I tested the LR 4.1 version and the unchanged xrite software performs as it should with LR.

Whereas I'm able to get the desktop version of the Color Checker profile maker to work fine, the X-Rite Lightroom plugin consistently fails to complete a profiling operation--quitting with the message that it "is unable to locate the color checker crop marks" in my image. In one such "failed" image, the (in focus) color checker occupies about 75% of the frame! I'm using LR 3.6, Mac OS X 6.8. Latest versions of the X-Rite software. Is this a common problem (making the plugin pretty useless)?

an old box of Crane Museo paper to make some prints on my Epson 3800. I downloaded and installed the Museo profile from Crane almost a year ago, and it shows up in the Windows/sys32/spool/drivers/color directory, along with all my other profiles.
But when I tried to soft proof the image in CS3, the Museo profile did not appear in the list in the Soft Proof dialog. On closer look, there were a few other profiles that also failed to appear.
Is there any way to manually add these profiles to the Soft Proof list? I always thought that the Soft Proof drop down list just picked up the entire "...../color" directory?

How do you get pipes to show on the profiles when there is a side pipe from a different alignment that enters an inlet?
I went to Profile View Properties / Pipe Networks and checked the side pipe to draw and changed the style overide to crossing, but nothing shows in the profile.

I'm having a problem with profile shortcuts showing up under multiple alignments. I have 16-alignments and profiles in their own drawings. I didn't create the shortcuts right away as I was still figuring out how I wanted the project dir structure. When I had that solved, I started creating the shortcuts. When I checked them, some of the alignments had up to 6-profiles from other alignments listed under them. One alignment had 3-profiles, and not one of them was for the alignment.
I removed all the profile shortcuts and started bringing them in again. Same problem. This was after shutting C3D down, cleaning up the tmp files and restarting.
There are shortcuts for 36 other alignments, and none of them appear to be affected, only these last 16. Validate Data Shorcuts doesn't do anything.

I am interested in the X-Rite ColorMunki monitor and printer profiling device but being a non professional I find it rather expensive. Especially as I already have the Spyder2. I am pleased with the Spider2 as a monitor calibrating device but I'm not having luck with making good printer profiles.

I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.

I shoot with Canon EFS 55-250 and get the image as a JPG and CR2.
In the RAW file the EF-S 55-250 is recognized and selected the correct profile. In the JPG file, the lens is detected but the lens profile is set to mark = None, model = None. While I can make the change to Canon but still does not choose the lens EFS 55-250. It is missing. The list contains only 14 lenses. For RAW files, the selection includes a lot more Canon lenses. Why the EFS 55-250 exists only for RAW files and not for JPG? Are the profiles different?

Trying to find ICC Profiles. I am a college student going for my BS in Photography. Our assignment is to take photo paper from three different manufactures and download the ICC Profiles for each of our papers chosen. Let me tell you this is not as easy as it seems! Where I can find the profiles for Adobe PS for different types of photo paper. Each manufacture only gives the ICC profile for their products. No scanned profiles are available.

I've a question to *.icc Profiles and Adobe Lightroom 3.5. I saved 10 *icc profiles for different types of printing (for example on acrylglas, different photo papers, on aluminum) which I got from an online printing service. But if I want to select a specific profile for an jpeg export I just got a selection of 6 profiles; 4 profiles are not shown.

I have a set of precious digital images, they are actually fairly low-res scans of prints but they are irreplaceable and cannot be re-scanned.
The images exhibit the following issues and I don't know how to fix them:
1) In the LR import dialogue box they show up as "Preview unavailable for this file".
2) When I attempt to import to LR, I get the error "The following files were not imported because they could not be read".
3) If I open the file in Photoshop CS5, I get the warning "The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the embedded ICC profile is invalid. Ignoring the profile" - if I ignore, PS can open the file but of course the colour profile is missing and the images look universally awful.
Curiously however the images DO provide a preview in Windows Explorer, and if I open them with the infinitely inferior Windows Live Photo Gallery, they open correctly and the colours are as they should be.
This all leads me to believe that there is something wrong with these files which Windows is OK with but Adobe is not. Since I do not have the paper prints, cannot rescan, and do not know the workflow process applied, I have absolutely no idea whether this happened at scanning time or subsequently.
HOWEVER surely, in this day and age, there must be a tool which allows me to package the information Windows can read and put it back into the file where it should be so that Adobe can read the same thing?

how a raw file looks in LR straight out of the camera using the Adobe Standard profile.
and this is how it looks with the profile set to Camera Standard. It seems as though the Adobe Standard profile is clipping the green channel in the magenta shades for some reason.
Clearly switching to another profile will solve it but my presets often set the profile so it's a bit of a nightmare.

I shoot RAW with a Canon 5D Mark II. I am using Lightroom 3. All of the sudden I can't find my camera profile settings in the Develop Module under the Camera Calibration Panel. They used to be there and now they are gone. "2010" is selected under the Process bar, but only Matrix shows up as my available Camera Profiles. What did I do to make them disappear? I can't think of anything that I could have done. Haven't done much except edit photos and now my profiles are missing! How can I get my camera profiles back?

I have this message when I start Lightroom 3 (roughly translated from french) "Missing camera profiles : some of your camera profiles are missing, that may alter the rendering of your raw files. Reinstall lightroom to restore them."
I did try to reinstall LR3 but without success. I'm with Lightroom from v1 an did upgrade to v2 then v3. I remember that I did remove a folder in the lightroom folder that I thought to be related to LR2 after upgrading to LR3. That's probably when the problem starts to occurs.
what are these missing files and how should proceed to restore them ? Where they installed by an older version ? I'm shooting with a D80 DSLR.
