View 1 RepliesWhereas I'm able to get the desktop version of the Color Checker profile maker to work fine, the X-Rite Lightroom plugin consistently fails to complete a profiling operation--quitting with the message that it "is unable to locate the color checker crop marks" in my image. In one such "failed" image, the (in focus) color checker occupies about 75% of the frame! I'm using LR 3.6, Mac OS X 6.8. Latest versions of the X-Rite software. Is this a common problem (making the plugin pretty useless)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am deciding to switch over to gimp from pixelmator because of the extra features. However, there is one thing that is making me concerned is some limitations in the filters.
How do I create a checkerboard pattern (using the filter) which has a green color for its primary color and transparency for its secondary color? In pixelmator this is easily done because there are extra color pickers in that filter supports transparency, so no problem. However, this isn't the case in gimp.
I have a photo of a painting that was taken with Kodak color checker patches on one corner. It looks like I need to adjust the colors in Photoshop.
I want to use the color checker as a reference to correct the overall image color and contrast. However, I don't know how to use it as I have never worked with color checker patches before.
how to color correct the image on photoshop?
I am attaching a cropped sample image. The original image is in RGB. The colors on the Kodak patch as follows: Blue, Cyan, Gree, Yellow, Red, Magenta, White, 3/Color, Black.
I have two classic cars and have not decided on color combinations . I want to be able to have a picture of the car and then go into a color chart and be able to insert any color and see it in order to make a decision?

Found the profiles but my camera Cannon Rebel 4ti is not listed. Is there an easy way to change or delete these profiles?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created custom profiles using Color Checker Passport for sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc but would really like to create one for most shoots. I thought it would be a good idea to name it say "Temp" and overwrite each time so that I dont end up knee deep in camera profiles. But I am guessing if I do this will the latest saved version of "Temp" change the camera profile of all other previously saved versions of "Temp" from other shoots? It would be good if the saved version of "Temp" resided within the folder of that particular shoot only.

I have a CMYK one but the colors don't convert very easily when i'm printing on my digital printer.
I have Photoshop cs5. I also have the Epson R1900 printer. I love this printer but if I don't print enough the heads get clogged. Any RGB color codes or a site where I can download a color bar page that would represent all eight colors of my Epson printer.
What I want to do is print a 8.5 x 11 page every few days that will use each of the print heads wherefore keeping the print heads from clogging.
where I can find a color chart in a dwg file that I can print out? I know of chroma.dwg (255 colors) and there are various color wheels I can download, but I'd like something like a Benjamin Moore (or other paint) that is in chart form, or the Pantone colors.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwe have a website concept in Illustrator CS3, with named swatches for all colors. I'm wondering if there is an easy or 'semi-automated' way to generate a chart of the swatches we are using, showing there hex values?
I know I could draw out a bunch of boxes, fill them with the swatch colors, and manually look up and type in the hex values for each. But this would take a LONG time, as there are a number of color variations.
How do I add the Pantone color cjart to Adobe Photoshop 10?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been learning After Effects for several months and I have to say its a blast. I'm already in projects where they require special effects, and from months of just teaching myself.I'm almost finally able to achieve any effect I want, for example: a bomb made to implode the earth's core with a black hole (a still picture from an upcoming super hero comedy series called "Zack").
Anyways, I'm now learning more advanced color balance, I always knew the basics and I just go with what looks good (which is how it usually works), but I never quite understood. Like curves.I watch tutorials and see people use a mix of colors to get the color they want. Honestly I don't know my colors in that way, is there a chart guide for color correction?
Is there an easy :) way to create a color chart (which I can print later) with Corel Draw?
1. I want to use a single color palette, e.g. one of the Pantone range.
2. Each color of this palette should be the filling of a certain shape (all shapes are similar), so that the number of shapes equals the number of colors in the palette.

I'm attempting to tilt this image for use in a game im writing. I've been using Map Object and rotation (Y) but this then causes pixel color changes on the boundary with the background color. How would I tilt this picture without getting the problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow I choose a color for any new objects I want to create. I've opened the toolbox with ctrl-b, which appears on the left side of the window. If I want to , for example, draw a red rectangle, I use the rectangular selection tool, then the bucket fill, and I don't see how to change the foreground color to red.
I've read elsewhere in the forum that there should be two rectangles somewhere on the screen that show foreground and background color, but I don't see them anywhere.
So Ive learned how to turn a color photo to B&W with spot color ...how to turn a color photo sepia, but also spot color. I have a wedding photos that I think would be a fun shot to play mixing those colors together . I have searched for the info earlier today and wasnt successful .

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a texture designer as a hobby for an online game called Eternal Lands.
Ususally I just make my own textures, but I wanted to edit an existing texture this time. The texture is for armor called Red Dragon Armor, it has red scales on it.
I want to replace these red scales (without taking away the details such as the streaking and the scratches) with gold. I tried using "Color select" then "colorify" but it didn't come out quite right.
What is the usual method for changing the color of a section of an image if there are details and you don't want to use the "bucket fill" option?
I have a dark gray triangle alongside a pure white triangle in a square GIF image. I want to convert the white triangle to alpha and leave the dark gray triangle completely opaque. When I use Color --> Color to Alpha, however, I see the checkerboard pattern extend over the gray in addition to the white.
1. Does this mean that the gray is being made translucent?
2. If so, how do I set only one the white to alpha (at 0% opacity) and leave the gray at 100% opacity?
I have a layer that is all white with text and some shapes (with heavy anti-aliasing, so the alpha channel variations of white, too) and I am trying to convert it to a specific other color (just a cream color that I have the HTML code for).
So, when a layer is all one color (not counting variation in alpha values), is there a technique to change that to a specific other color, rather than just toggling the "Color Balance" to get an approximation?
I am using the Color Exchange feature in Gimp 2. I am trying to change a red background to black. The Color Exchange feature allows me to do that, however, it comes out with only part of the color changed and it all very blotchy.
Here is a screenshot of what happens after I select the red square and do a Color Exchange from red to black.
Is there a way to make the color select tool not only select a specific color but related shades as well. I have a graphic that is mainly shades of gray but with black outlines and divisions as well as other colors mixed in. I want to shift all the shades of gray to shades of dark yellow without have to select each shade individually.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to select a specific color from within the image, and change all similar colors within that image to a different color. In other words, after using the Color Picker Tool to select a color from the image, I want to take the selected color (and everything in the image that is equal to or similar in color), and change them all to a different color.
I tried using the Path's Tool to create an outline in the image, and changing colors that way, but it changes all the other colors in the selection I don't want to change. I just want to change all colors in the image/selection that are equal to or similar to the selected color. How do I do this?

Alright, so I'm trying to import a checker pattern onto my drawing for clothing decoration. The first time I did it, no problem, but now when I try to import a layer it doesn't work the way I want it to. When I try to erase parts of it, instead of being transparent, it erases away white. (See attachment) How can I fix this?
