It happens when I try to use the "back" button on the web page when reading posts.

I'm trying to use an expression for text height and everytime I enter the name of the expression I get "Invalid Input". Is there a trick to doing this?
I even changed a style that "HAD" allowed me to use an expression, to a number then tried to reenter the same expression name that was there and get "Invalid Input".

We have a project that uses a sheetset for drawing management and plotting.
On one pc the sheetset opens up fine when a drawing is opened.
On a second pc we get a message saying that the .dst can't be found.
If we then try to open the .dst via the open command on the sheetset manager we receive a dialog telling us the sheetset is invalid.
Both PC's are identical with the same network access rights etc. and both running C3D 2006.
I'm using civil 3D 2012 for 2 weeks now. When I create a query to include or exclude points in a specific point group I get an error. It doesn't allow me to build a query with decimal number but only with natural number.
Everything was fine with my old civil 3D 2011.
The problem is with civil 3D 2012? or maybe their is a magic switch somewhere to allow me to use decimal number?
I am receiving an invalid input message when trying to create a curve between two lines. My drawing units are set to architectural. The problem is summarized as follows:
1- In Lines/Curves menu, select curve between two lines.
2-Select first tangent
3- Select second tangent
4-Select radius option
5- Enter 8'6"
6- After entering the radius I receive an invalid input message.
7- But if I enter the radius as 102 (102 inches) the curve is created without any problem.
I have a baseplan I was sent for senior design project and it was previously created in an earlier version of autocad. However Im not sure which version it was created in. There are almost 3000 points and contours but I can not use these points to create a surface. I am ultimately trying to create a surface and then a profile for a road to design vertical curves throughout.
I cut out a few points and copied them into a new drawing due to the size of the actual file
I am building sub-assembly, I just want to know if there is any example or tutorial on how to add target parameters to sub-assemblies.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Civil 3D 2011 and 2012 but soon making the jump to 2013.In my project I want to able to present a 3D-object from Civil 3D 2011 to Navisworks, eg the body of a road. I am doing this currently with the add-on program from Autodesk Labs named Corridor Solids. The several different 3D-objects that represent the different layers of the road body needs to have a certain set of parameters. For instance, Name, Dimensions, Material and so forth.
Currently, the only thing that I can present in Navisworks is the layer name that I associate to that object when I export it from Civil 3D with Corridor Solids.Is there a way, in vanilla Civil 3D or perhaps an add-on program that I can use to associate more parameters to a solid?
I am trying to overlay a large area,I have a design profile grade that I must use. I need the new edge of the overlay pavement to be 2" above the existing as long as the pavement cross slope is between 1% to 1.5% . If the slope goes above or below the min or max I need it to take the min or max. If I use the overlaymillandlevel2 I am unable to get it to use the overlay thickness since i am using a profile.

Is there a way to change a RAW description such as EC12 +, or EC11 -, to say SWP12 +, SWP11 -
I'm not having much luck using the parameter settings. 1$
I tried Code = EC*, format=SWP1$
That didn't work... I got literally SWP1$ instead of SWP12 +
Is it a space thing? Do I have to rename all the descriptions to have a space before the parameter?
i.e. EC 12 +
I'm hoping this isn't the case and some form of wildcard can be use.
What is the best way to edit the parameters of a pipe (slope, ie, size) once you have it drawn?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using one assembly for this project and of course the existing surface does not always work well with one assembly so I have been using the corridor section editor to adjust each station individually. Attached is a picture of my first station, I started with a 3:1 fore slope (left side) and have changed it to a 2:1 slope. However, my ditch line elevation did not adjust and my parameter editor will not let me adjust the beginning elevation for the ditch line. I am curious as to what the simple solution is for this so my ditchline and back slope or slope to surface will be portrayed correctly.

Its a 2D cylinder, for winding purposes we just have a rectangle, with a distance from the Y axis for radial.
Parametric dimensions: B=thickness, C=Lenght, R=radius
User parameter: A=Diameter (R*2), Mass in kg ((((pi*(c*b))*(A+B))*1.25)/1000)/1000
For the BOM, i need A, B, C & mass
For drawing references for peoples on the floor, to distinquish a cylinder from a stick, we put lines at the top and bottom of the cylinder, 1mm distance inbetween them.
I figured that making a linear parameter + stretch on the thickness to replace the B parametric dimension, allowed me to make an array of that line, with increments of 1mm as i stretch the cylinder. The thing is that the mass formula cant take the value of action parameters....
Other alternative is to keep the B parametric dimension, and add a linear parameter as above for the array. But then i have 2 places to adjust, and from a test i made, if i change the R dimension, the linear one does not follow. Its very frustrating.
What i was hoping autocad would be able to do is distance1 for array to be same as B dimension, but it does not allow me to do that, unless im missing something.
Is it possible to create subassembly from C3D Stock Subassemblies.dll programmatically using .NET? I need call procedure (Basic Lane for example), set all input parameters and create subassembly in drawing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen i am creating a assembly, the sub assembly parameters for the generic pavement structure is not showing (such as the lane width or crossfall) Other sub-assemlies show these parameters. Is this a bug or is there a way i can turn this on.
I can change the parameters on the properties.
When I created my subassembly with subassembly composer, it's difficult to change the sequency of the input/output parameters. Do we have an easy way to do that, Like moving?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am just having some difficulties using the standard UKIE subassemblies where the carriageway is not showing the parameters correct. See the drawing attached. Eg:
1) The properties does not show the side correctly it has a zero value (not much of a issue as i can use the mirror command) (drawing subassembly)
2) I am unable to choose any superelevation on the subassembly . Now this is what causing me problems.
I have already re-installed the software from scratch and have also downladed the latest service pack.
I've scoured the cui but can't seem to find where to restore the "Basepoint" selection from the Block editor's "Parameters" tab.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a single lic. copy of AutoCAD 2012 LT on a single PC tied to a network server. Our server crashed and needed to be replaced. When they replaced the server, they gave it a new name so I had to reset all the file paths to the redirected folders for my PC. Now I keep getting an error: cannot create temporary file (then shows the file path to the old server).
I have reset all the file location in the files section of the options box, so I do not understand where AutoCAD is still seeing the old server. Is there somewhere else in the software that I need to change the file paths?
I have a .dwg file that I believe is corrupt, because when I try to open it in Autocad it says that it is invalid. Is there any way to recover this file?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem in that a customer drawing, actually several cutomer drawings are not closed polylines. tHEY ARE REASONABLY SIMPLE PROFILES THAT i NEED TO CUT OUT ON A CNC ROUTER. mY PROBLEM BEING THAT AS THEY ARE NOT CLOSED the router software will not recognise them properly. Is there anyway to find out where exactly on the profile the gap is with zooming right in and panning around?

Coworker opened a drawing that he created yesterday. Upon opening he received the following error - "Attempting to end an invalid transaction. Id: 2008125432". He hit OK and the program resumed. It did not crash. There is no red plus in the menu bar.

We are receving error on our VBA program under AutoCAD2011 "Invalid argument Tag in setting TagString" when writing tag string.Our lagazy program used to store some data on a hidden layer as tag string. Now the new VBA is not accepting those lines.Is it a bug or there is any workaround for this.
It was working without any trouble for AutoCAD 2005-2010 versions.Example -
