How to construct a table to lay out the "horizontal curve" on the ground?
The steps that follow the design of the horizontal alignment is to set up it on the ground. For this purpose a table that contains angles and distances is established to set up the curve on the ground. How this process is performed on the C3D.
Can we produce a Horizontal curve table like the attachment Table 1 and i have another queries could Civil 3d Produce a table like the attachment Table 2 i know i can get this table by lisp or macros.

What I got is a circle or arc of about R=6. A node or endpoint about 5-6 units away from the center. I want a curve of R=10 to create an arc to go through the endpoint, and be tangent to the arc too. I can visualize it, but cannot draft it.
Now, I realize that there are a few possible solutions, but only one applies. I tried using the 2P function on curves, but instead of being tangent to the curve it comes up at a right angle to it. I can draw a tangent solution within a couple of seconds, but a curve?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to reduce the extra space in the table rows. We finally ran into a situation on a job where the tables have to be smaller. So we ended up exploding the line & curve tables and manually adjusting the spacing.... Exporting the table data to excell would be useful, but cant find a way to do that. Reporting the line calls to html and copy clip to excell would work, but cant seem to do that either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a Line & Curve table to display my metes & bounds. One of the curves is displaying an incorrect length, off by .01. It was caught as my project was reviewed by the city engineer. I went back to the database (Prospector --> Sites --> Parcels) and my mapcheck does conflict by .01.
Why is the mapcheck different from the Line / Curve table? How can I 'fix' the table to match the mapcheck data?

The vertical spacing in curve and line tables (the space between the text and the horizontal line) is too big. This makes the table too long and hard to fit on maps. For regualr tables, you can modify this. However, for curve and line tables this is not available. Is there a .NET file that creates/formats the tables that I could modify to reduce the spacing??
C3D 2012, but the same is true for 2014.
Where should i insert my point tables? In the model or the paper space?
in the paper space it seems that i cannot control the insertion scale?? i set specific letter height that works fine at the model but in paper every time i create a table I see different size depending on the zoom I have.
When trying to etransmit a dwg from Civil 3D 2010 which has line/curve tags with tables built from them, we are getting output which has the table headers but no entries below. The cad user on the other end gets no line/curve data. The other user is on Civil 3D 2011.

I've notice lets for arguement sake 'chord length' text component editor is: <[Chord Length(Um|P3|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]> but is it possible to modify the code so i can insert half a chord length.

I have just created a Total Volume Table and everything is perfect in Model, but when y change to layout, the table is miising. I can barely see the title of the table zooming, but anything else. The tables are still there, but so tiny and with just the title, there is no data!
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn our company, we put Excel tables in our drawings. The reason we've chosen for Excel-tables is that we can adjust the layout of the table quite easily. These tables consist of grouped cells in a particular company-specific layout. We select the range of the desired cells, copy and paste them in our AutoCAD drawing. This drawing is sent to our customers. The disadvantage of this method is, that when our customers (who use CAD-software of other brands) open the dwg, they don't see the table, but some kind of picture of the table.
Is there a way to 'explode' the excel-table, but keep the specific layout of the table? For attributes in blocks there's the 'Explode Attributes'-command in the Express-tools, but is there something similar for Excel-tables?

How can you add the chord bearing, chord length, and tangent to an alignment table with the curve data in it? I have the length and direction but cannot figure out why the others will not load and update in the chart. I am using Autocad Civil 3D 2012

I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow.Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
How can I rearrange the horizontale order of the table columns which made by (Extraction data).
I know how to rearrange it vertically, But horizontally that what I want to know. Example ( colomns order is : number, X, Y. How to change it to :X, Y , number )
There is a brick-like pattern on a geological cross section I could draw this in manually but any way to do it automatically so there is a uniform horizontal distance between vertical separators? I tried creating a brick type swatch, but this created horizontal lines which did not follow the curve of the stratum.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWe here at work have recently implemented using the survey database feature in CAD as a better way of manipulating and organizing points in our drawings. However, we have begun to notice a few issues with how the survey database imports points (?).
Sometimes, and I say sometimes because it is very sporratic, some drawings exhibit the issue and some do not, the points will be skewed off the linework (we are converting existing projects to the survey database). In these situations I find that the Northing and Easting don't match the ascii file it was imported from, instead the "Grid Northing" and "Grid Easting" do. Also, some drawings will have a slightly different Grid Northing and Grid Easting vs Northing and Easting, whereas some drawings will have the exact coordinates for both sets of fields. I believe the issue is one and same.
Our points handling goes like this, Data Collector--->TBC (where ground to grid and scaling is performed)---->exported to ascii file------>Imported to CAD.
This is very confusing and irritating at the same time, and really counterproductive to be troubleshooting why our points keep moving. Redrawing the linework is NOT an option, we'll sooner go back to simple ascii file imports (where the problem is NOT present) then have to redo all of our work on our projects.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to extend the existing ground profile. I previously had stopped the profile at 25+00 as shown in the attached. However, I need to add on another 100' to 26+00. I can only view info in the Profile Properties. I can't change the end station.
How do I get it to extend?
Previously in LDD when I had a project i needed to transfer from grid to ground I could simply create a block of everything. Scale the entire block from a mid point of the site, explode the block, run check points and done.
Now in C3D 2012 when I explode my block it changes my elevations too. Yikes!!!! Luckily I had a copule of points
elevations labled and I noticed the new "Feature" of scaling my elevations too.
My site is 4,500' across and grid to ground changes it 0.32'
Is there a setting to change this behavior?
Is there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
How can the cross sections be setup to label the existing and proposed grade at the centerline of a cross section, see attached. Could do this in LD but have not been able to figure it out in Civil 3D

Say I have ten sheets, each with a table for quantities of pipe length, and one sheet with a total of all quantities. Can I link cells from each separate layout sheet to the main table sheet, so that I can add them all for project totals?
