AutoCAD Civil 3D :: SSM - Place Model View On Sheet Results In Crash
Jul 9, 2012Every now and then I'll have a sheet that will not accept placement of another model view from the sheet set manager. (There are usually two or more model views already on the layout). Every attempt will cause AutoCAD to crash. I run recover and audit and the problem persists.
Today I did something differently. I added a new layout, and successfully placed the model view on that layout (I accepted the condition that the layout was not part of a sheet set). Then I went back to the layout I really wanted the model view on and was able to place it without any problem. The significant difference I can see is that I usually have only one layout (I typically delete layouts I don't use which leaves only one layout). It seems to me that having one layout and only one layout while attempting to place a model view on it could very well be the cause of this random crash problem. I have not been able to confirm this yet but the next time I crash trying to place a model view, the first thing I will try is to add a new layout.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Section View Layout In 2012?
Jul 19, 2012Having issues with where the first section view starts when trying to place multiple section views on sheets. The problem I am having is that the offset from the bottom of the sheet frame seems to be a half unit off and grid lines will not line up with the sheet gridlines we have developed. I attached a pdf of the resulting offset. what I need to look for to adjust the bottom offset?

I just loaded Civil 3D 2013 last week and have been checking to see if flared end section depiction in profile views is any better than previous versions. I haven't noticed anything different. Oct 1, 2013I just upgraded to PSE 12. So now all my organisation folders are under the "keyword" tag. And I have a lot of them. Of course they are organized in folder/subfolders. And the main ones are "places" "events". The same as the default ones in pse.
So is it possible to move categories/directories from the keyword tag to event/place/people tags (drag and drop doesn't work).

CommandManager.UserInputEvents.OnContextMenu += UserInputEvents_OnContextMenu;
But it seems that the onselect event only catches selection of drawing views or balloon, annotation etc, but not the component inside the drawing view is this intentional or a bug?
The reason i need to catch this is to make a new context menu action, so i need the selected item. I know i can use SelectionSet, but i want to be able to debug my application as an external application connecting to the running instance before i build it into an addin (saves me a lot of inventor restarts..) And Selection Set does not seem to work when i use it inside an event handler in an external application...

May 30, 2012A problem we are having in our office on 1 computer is that this message appears in the command line
'viewport is view locked switching to paper space'
It happens whenever we zoom or pan into one of our locked viewports. We have purposefully locked the viewport so we don't lose the scale when we zoom or pan and want to leave it this way, however, whenever we zoom or pan this message appears and it takes 30 seconds before the screen readjusts to the zoom or pan we require.

I have a button called (regen) to update data in these datagridviews. I read again database drawing and re-source again datagridview. (method "upload_all")

But I don´t understand almost.
I only want to execute method "upload_all" if some alignment is modified in the drawing.
Also, I would like to do it if some alignment is just created or deleted.

AutoCAD LT :: 2008 LOCKED Floating Viewport View Moves When Zooming
May 15, 2012I have had this issue for about two weeks. I am not aware of any changes to my system though Windows 7 updates automatically.
Often, but not all the time, when I am in a floating viewport which is locked and I zoom in, the part of the drawing disappears as if the view on the viewport has adjusted to one side so that I cannot see any of what I am working on. If I escape the command and 'undo' last command it takes me back to the correct view but in paperspace.
This is a pain as I cannot zoom in to locate a point accurately. It only happens when I zoom in quite close. The viewports are locked and it is only a problem recently. I have used CAD for 20 years and LT 2008 for the last 4-5 years so I dont think it is a user issue. Maybe a settings issue or bug, but I have not knowingly changed any settings which would do this and cannot see why this would be a 'feature'.

With event commandEndend I can update all information if I use "grip-strectch" for some PI alignment.
However, we can modify alignment data from Panorama palette (geometry editor) and I would like to know if there are any event to catch it after modify data.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Any Way To Transmit Event Icons To Top Item (drawing Name) At Prospector?
Sep 4, 2013Some times I note the lack of a top warning-icon placed on top of prospector folder.
The idea is, for example, that in case I had a corridor out of date I dont see this "situation" until I navigate up to the corridors/corridor item, so I can forget easily the rebuild need. The posibility to see this icon near the name of my drawing should be very useful.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Re-import Event Deletes Control Points From Survey Database
Jan 13, 2012Running C3d 2012 here, but haven't used prior versions. I'm using fieldbooks to import survey data. If there is an error of some kind and I "Re-import event" for the fieldbook, then the occupied points from the field book are deleted out of the survey database and I get the resulting error of "point invalid" during the import. My fix is to go into my control drawing and import the control points from the drawing into the survey database then run the "re-import" again.

I select a region of the first image with any selection tool (e.g. the fuzzy select tool) I copy the selection.
Isn't there a way to paste the selection into the second image at exactly the same position where it was in the first image?
It seems to me unbelievable that there is no such option, but I can't ind it. I must be missing it. In Adobe flash it is called "paste in situ".
Maya :: Rotation Axis Locked In Perspective View?
Apr 23, 2011I've been using maya since 8.5 and there's a notorius bug that will probably be never addressed by maya developers. I just upgraded to 2012 and am getting this again: // Warning: Could not find an appropriate startup camera: side. A substitute will be used.
And i took all the preventive actions: window size and position are not saved with file, i always go back to four view before saving, etc. Still no joy.
In fact the side camera is not missing, it's right there and fully functional. What happens as a consequence of this error is that one of the rotation axes in perspective view are locked, i can't rotate my scene around the Y axis.
It doesn't work either if i export my object and import it back into a fresh scene. Axis remains locked. I'm losing my scenes that i've put insane amount of work into. No hope to restore them.

Apr 23, 2012My company has upgraded to new computers recently (Windows 7, Civil 3d 2012). Some of the new computers are unable to access ANY survey database for edit. They can be opened read only, but the option of opening for edit isn't even available. The old computers we have CAN open the same databases for edit. We have attempted repairing/reinstalling, but to no avail. All the new computers were cloned from 1 original.

Mar 28, 2013I know for a fact that my viewports were in the correct location, at the correct scale and they were locked. To give you a little background, in my plan sheet drawing I am showing a plan view and profile view and I use 2 xrefs to do this, my master plan drawing and my profile master. I was switching between the profile master and my plan sheet drawing doing some adjusting to the profile master's profile VC labels and making sure they will fit into the viewports I made in the plans sheets. As I am doing this editing, I am saving the profile master and reloading the plan sheet drawing. After I come out of the reload in my plan sheet drawing, every single viewport that shows the master plan xref was reset to a position way out in left field. This makes absolutely no sense because I wasn't working with the plan view viewports and I am 100% certain they were LOCKED. How is it even possible that they get moved if they are locked?
I am able to get around this problem by re-aligning my viewports to their correct position, its just annoying having to do this again. I would really like to know what is causing this so I can prevent it from happening again.
Photoshop :: Moving Document View With Hand Tool Locked At Edge Of Window
Dec 9, 2012When I try and move a corner of my open document with the hand tool to the center of the document window in CS5 when zoomed out, it stops at the edges and will not move inward any further. It is sometimes more convenient to be able to work on a zoomed in corner of a document when it is centered in the document window. If I go to the rotate tool and set a slight angle, I can then move the document anywhere in the window at any magnification! Is there a setting that is locking the document at the edge of the screen when zoomed out?
