I have a custom .shx file for linetypes but I am not sure how to get Autocad to recognize it. What steps do I have to take to use this file in Autocad? I have searched for the ACAD.SHX file but could not find it.
By Opening File into AutoCAD I can set the Custom Property(dwgname, dwgid, projectname) of the File. But I want to set value of these properties without opening AutoCAD application.
I can set it using: public void SetAttributes(Hashtable hashTable,String fileOpenPath){ Document Doc = Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.DocumentManager.Open(fileOpenPath);
Can we create this Object using any other way??
Database Db = Doc.Database; DatabaseSummaryInfoBuilder DbSib = new DatabaseSummaryInfoBuilder(); Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.TransactionManager tm = Db.TransactionManager; using (Transaction aTran = tm.StartTransaction())
I copied the General Legal Description report and renamed it. When I ran the report, it asked me to save the file Civil.html before opening it. If I run the OOTB report it does not ask me to save the page before opening it. Is this something that I can fix? I have not found a setting anywhere that changes this.
I am creating custom classes that I need to save to the DWG file. I assume this is straightforward but have not found a way to do it. I'm using VB.NET but can work with C++ examples as well. Do I have to inherit from a DBObject class and override or is it possible to declare my own custom classes and somehow register them to DBObject?
I created a custom assembly that has an offset target. Is it possible to program my subassembly to target only on the side of my subassembly (and not criss-cross onto itself it the target is on the other side)?
there has used a non-AASHTO curve widening formula to calculate automatic curve widening for an alignment? I'm trying to use our Agency curve widening formula which is a function of curve radius and central angle.
I'm not sure if it is even possible to use the central angle of the curve for calculating widening, or how one would go about using a non-AASHTO CW formula.
Attached is the curve widening formula that needs to be used. L will be a constant here.
In AutoCAD, I can go on the tray menu and select the scale list and select custon scales. I get the entire list I created and able to make and delete scales.
When I do the exact same thing in AutoCAD Civil 3D, it freezes up and won't let me do anyting, I then hit esc and I can start working in the drawing again.
I have a few custom linetypes created for the cut and fill daylight boundary on a grading and corridor. I have it set up to put these lines on different layers than the rest of the grading. I can turn the rest of the grading off and just have my surface created from the grading and these daylight lines on that are linked to the grading. Everything looks good when I go to paperspace to print, except when I actually print the daylight lines do not. They appear in paperspace but not on an actual hard copy. I do not need the grading, I have tried extracting the lines and deleting the grading. This presents another problem. When I extract the lines the come in as a solid line and I cannot get my custom linetype to show despite changing LT scale, etc. How can I make these lines appear in the fashion I want them to.
where can I get custom line type for asphalt? Made my own with back slashed but they are all the same length and I saw one that looks better with shorter slashed on the ends and longer in the middle.
I has a project where my Custom UCS don't is the Autocad's Original, but when I make Multiple Sections Views, the C3D does it in Autocad's Original UCS. How I make this on my Custom UCS?

Can we produce a Horizontal curve table like the attachment Table 1 and i have another queries could Civil 3d Produce a table like the attachment Table 2 i know i can get this table by lisp or macros.

I have Edited the Conc pipe and added a new profile with three new model parameters to be used as list types in the part type. But it will not hold or change the values when selected.
My workflow (obtained from websites : [URL ]was to:
Check the custom parts flag then create the Geometry / constraints, dimensions and variables.
Added the following Variables (PWks, PDpth, PBed) to the AeccPartParamCfg file in the AeccDfParameter & pipe part type as optional parameters.
Edit the parts XML and changed the context & index for each variable.
Restart Civil3d 2013 and run partbuilder. Regen Catalog > Test Catalog.
The part is validated correctly but when I insert it into a new partslist the values I receive for the new contexts will not come in correct as to what was selected. Also after creating a pipe I can not change any of the new values (it does not hold after apply) & the bottom of the pipe in model seems to be at an incorrect level based from the actual pipe data.
The part worked as expected in partbuilder with different sizes before the XML mods.
If I re-open the pipe in Part builder I see duplicate references for the newly added contexts and their index numbers.
Should I just start again or have I done something wrong in the creation process?

I don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
I have created a custom coordinate system in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 using MAPCSCREATE command. My issue go figure is I created it incorrectly and now I want to delete it out of the system.
I have a set of drawings with a large number of sheets. I need to do a mass edit of the properties for each sheet (for example update the revision number, date, checked/design/approved/drafting initials, description). The updated properties are largely similiar.
Is it necessary to update each sheet's custom properties individually, or is there an easier method?
I think this problem started after installing C3D 2012, and I don't think it's related to the UAC problems. I tried asking my reseller about it, but got no answer.
This happens with all projects that use Custom Coordinate Systems created in C3D 2011 or earlier. When opening the drawing and going into "Drawing Settings", I get this, and have to click seven times through the error box to finally have it do nothing:
Then, if I go back to Drawing Settings, I see this:
Notice how most of the dialog box settings are missing.
This stuff all worked fine for years, but seems to have gotten broken as soon as I installed C3D 2012, and is still broken in C3D 2013.
Is it possible to add a custom object such as soil reinforcement to C3D? I have a roadway grading plan with cut/fill slopes that will require geosynthetic reinforcement. Is it possible to add reinforcement to the drawing and have C3D calculate quantities?
i have line types i created for telco and electric...basically a letter T within lines and a letter E within lines. they look just fine in one drawing but now i'm in another drawing started by someone else and i need to use them but the letters are tiny and off center.
I created a Net dll plugin and successfully loaded in Civil 3d 2014 with NetLoad command, the plugin contains a ribbon bar with a ribbon button launching a dialog.., but when To be Loaded automatically (by AutoLoader) at startup it did'nt load, is there any way to make it load automatically at Civil 3d start up
I created a custom shape for a custom linetype. I had no problems making it and the linetypes worked perfectly in the drawing I created it in. However, when I tried to load the linetype into another drawing it said there was a bad definition in the line with the link to the shape file. When I tried to import the shape file into the drawing to look at it, it said that the shapefile has an invalid FIle Code number (707865649). Considering that I created it not ten minutes before I do not understand what the problem is. The real problem is that I have made many linetypes and all the ones with shapes are having the same problem.
I am trying to add contour lines to a surface at very specific elevations (rain event elevations). I can add all the intervals I want but can't seem to figure out how to add a contour at a certain elevation.
