I am designing a retention pond in an existing surface. I set the base of the pond and execute the grading at the desired slope and it generates the pond just fine, with the exception of rounded corners. I need the corners to be square, mitered corners instead of the round.
I'm using Civil 3D 2013.
I know how to make rounded corners. But the background has color and shows the square corners of the palette.

I have a manure storage pond that I am trying to figure out the total storage volume for. It has 2.5:1 Side slopes and a 10 foot wide ramp at 10:1 entering the pond to the floor bottom. I am trying to figure out what the volume of this pond is. What is the fastest and most efficient way to get this volume? I do not want it compared to any other surface such as existing ground.

What makes it difficult for me is that different areas of the pond have different slopes. The area marked as "A" has a slope of 1:5, the are has a slope of 1:2 and the rest of the pond has a slope of 1:1.
My problem: I do not know how to grade the borderline so i end up having a surface with different slopes as my pond.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter crating my squared pond (or waste landfill for that matter) I runned a cross section from an alignment running across the the entire pond. The cross section did not show the bottom of the pond. I noticed that I forgot to do an infill to the bottom of the pond so I did it. But, still the bottom of the pond its not showing up in the cross section, just the side slopes. Do I have to delete the alignment across the pond and recreate it? That is probably the only thing I have not done. BTW, I have an access road coming down the side of the pond with a corridor created already and is not showing up neither on the cross section.
PD: I am running Civil 3D 2012!
I have a small site where i've essentially designed a storage pond. I've cut 3.0m off the original ground at a 2:1 slope and built a berm at a 2:1 fill slope to a designed elevation. I've managed to balance the site to zero. The contour drawing I have shows elevations - which is great - however the client has asked to see the contours showing a Fill or Cut label from the original ground.

When i tried to add an inside contour to a simple square with rounded corners......the inside contour is missing the rounded corners but when you add a contour to the outside of the square with rounded corners...the corners are round.

The existing site is one surface and the berm/pond are another surface.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a very old project and even with more knowledge in 3D, still unable to do it. I have a stool with incline legs using the LOFT command (Extrude with Path can also do it). Now I need to add a tranverse section. I wanted to have the tranverse section same dimension as the leg.
Given the inclination of the leg, it is impossible and futile to align ucs using 3 points or face because there is no 90 deg between the two edges. Further more given there is no extrude to face as in inventor, it is sound difficult to extrude between the "/" form and the "" form of the two legs.
D problem? On geometry, is there a rule to adapt here with respect to section dimension?
I'm VERY new with photoshop and I was just wondering (since I'm designing my own website) how to go about creating a section on my page that will have visible borders with rounded corners? Basically just a big square with rounded corners that will have text in it. I don't know if I try and create the borders in Dreamweaver and then use photoshop drawings of the rounded corners or what? Or do I create the whole image in Photoshop?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a shape that I want to add a blend layer to by creating a square, adding a gradient then making it an overlay on top of said shape. The issue I am having is I cant find a way of masking out the unwanted areas of the blend layer. I have tried to follow the steps the official help and other internet help sections but it's not working. It's so easy in photoshop. How come it's so difficult in Illustrator? Is there something I am missing? Additionally, a blend layer (in most modes) wouldn't show any colour if overlaying upon white in photoshop. How come this isn't so in Illustrator?

The only solution I have found so far is to first manually sort my original images into landscape and portrait folders and then run a different action on each folder to create the thumbnails.
Is there any way to design an action that would work equally well on both landscape and portrait images?
