I am trying to create a new linetype. It is a simple linetype, made up of a continuous chain of capsules that I've attached here. I understand that linetypes require shape files and line definition files. However, AutoCAD isn't even telling me how to create the shape file(s) I need to begin making the linetype.
The capsule is .12 units long at its widest, and will need to connect end-to-end.
I have downloaded the SSURGO file from Web Soil Survey. They are in .shp files, I have imported the spatial files into AutoCad Map 3d 2012. My goal is to create a Topology so that I can detemine the soil type and acres of parcels of land.
When I click on the polygon in my drawing it is a closed polygon with double line or overlapping lines and it does has object data but it is part of the line not a point as I am used to.
Photoshop CS5. I am trying to type along a path but every time the text stops at the point in the attached screen shot, looks like a cross inside a small circle.
I want to create an “Action” that changes the File type from .psd to .jpg, and then use the “Batch” command to change a whole folder on files.
Here’s what happens so far: I open a file. Then using the “action” pallet, I record the following:
Save as… I change the “Save In” folder to a different folder. I change the “Format” from Photoshop (PSD) to JPEG (JPG). Under JPEG Options, I use the default file size and hit OK.
I them hit the Stop button.
Seems simple enough. And it works for the first file.
But if I use this “action” on a second file, it writes over the original file.
So, how do I create an “action” that allows me to automate the “save as” function and change file types.
This must be a common operation. I have 300+ .psd files that I need to change to .jpg.
Now I am very limited in my use of Xara Xtreme but I am currently needing to create an image of a world globe and around it (maybe even spewing out of it) I would require like something that conveys technology.
I've had trouble creating a certain type of motion blur effect. Typically, motion blur radiates outward from one single point. However, What I would like is for a whole section of an image to be clear (for instance, a character's torso) and then have the image GRADUALLY get blurrier from there.
I cannot figure a way to do this (apart from a very long process of creating many duplicate layers and doing an independent motion blur for each one).
Attached is an example of what my attempts look like right now: an obvious line around the region that I'm trying to showcase, rather than a smooth, gradual transition into the motion blur.
using (Transaction trans = HostApplicationServices.WorkingDatabase.TransactionManager.StartTransaction()){ Autodesk.Civil.DatabaseServices.Profile perfil = default(Autodesk.Civil.DatabaseServices.Profile); perfil = trans.GetObject(entRes.ObjectId, OpenMode.ForWrite) as Profile; foreach(ProfileEntity entity in perfil.Entities) [Code] .......
 or I could save TypeCode in my List.
aB.TypeCode= entity.Constraint2.GetTypeCode,  but I don´t have the table of those codes.  ¿?
I would like write with "typeof(.....)" and put my own code in my List. Â Autocad Civil 3D 2014 +SP1 Quad Core Intel i7 3770-cpu 3.40Ghz. ssd samsung 840 pro 512gb+ssd samsung 840 pro 256 gb+1tb hdd 32gb RAM 1600 Mhz. nVidia Quadro 2000. Win 7 Pro 64bit
I'd like to have a linetype that is a solid polyline with open circles every so often indicating a proposed field tile line. I'd also like to have the same line filled in circles to indicate existing tile.Â
I'm having trouble with the line type dissappearing or showing as Continuous when I print. It also does not appear to be the same size on different lines, even though the type, scale etc. are all the same.
I have a few custom linetypes created for the cut and fill daylight boundary on a grading and corridor. I have it set up to put these lines on different layers than the rest of the grading. I can turn the rest of the grading off and just have my surface created from the grading and these daylight lines on that are linked to the grading. Everything looks good when I go to paperspace to print, except when I actually print the daylight lines do not. They appear in paperspace but not on an actual hard copy. I do not need the grading, I have tried extracting the lines and deleting the grading. This presents another problem. When I extract the lines the come in as a solid line and I cannot get my custom linetype to show despite changing LT scale, etc. How can I make these lines appear in the fashion I want them to.
where can I get custom line type for asphalt? Made my own with back slashed but they are all the same length and I saw one that looks better with shorter slashed on the ends and longer in the middle.

I am working on a commercial development with multiple large tenants with multiple standards.  To begin to verify the preliminary grading is in compliance, I use the slope arrow surface analysis type.
Due to my multiple standards, I find myself changing these values frequently. Â My question : Is there a way to make the slope arrow the default analysis type when you are in the surface properties dialog box?Â
I know it is not a major issue, but it is annoying and repetitive, having to go to the list box, and select slope arrow over and over again.  One workaround I have considered to avoid this maddening situation is to make two surfaces, with each criteria assigned to the surface properties and simply paste the main surface into each.  Then control which is visible based on what I need to look at.
I have been working in Civil 3D 2013 for about two weeks and everything was going smooth until I got a fatal error message while trying to rotate a basic rectangle. When I reloaded AutoCAD Civil 3D my command line displayed the following error message:  "AutoCAD menu utilities loaded.; error: bad argument type: input-streamp: nil”. My drawing loaded normally but when I tried to draw a line using L+Enter I got a note saying “Command: L Unknown command "L". Press F1 for help.” Now none of my aliases work and when I go to Express -> Tools -> Command Alias Editor from the menu bar, I get the windows that are on the attatched screen shot. The PGP files wont work and importing aliases gives me the top right box on the attatched image. I have tried adding a Support File Search Path from the options menu and that too has failed.
I am in the process of creating a .dwt to be used to generate plan & profile sheets. I have attempted to set the viewport type to either plan or profile (depending on the viewport) but it keeps resetting itself to "undefined".
I have got a drawing with an alignment containing spiral-curve-spiral entities. I need to find what type of spirals are used in these entities - clothoids, cubic parabolas or other. Is there any way, to find it? In panorama and sub-entity editor there is only spiral description without exact type.
I can't remember how to change a pipe end section type. I have concrete and want a metal one. I right click and went to swap part, but the metal end section is not listed. The block is fine; all I need to do is to change the material type in the callout. I am using the C3D flared end section with modified text in the callout. Where to I go to change the definition?Â
Typically when setting up a viewport in paper space I can change the viewport type at the bottom of the properties dialog box. In 2013 the option is available, but it will always snap back to undefined. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere.
What type of objects can be projected into a profile view? I know that points, feature lines, and multiview blocks can be projected with variable results. I can't even find a simple list within Civil 3D's.

I was wondering if there exists a library for pipe network parts for items such as a standard type 1 catch basin that I can add to the existing autocad pipe network parts library. Basically I'm trying to find a shortcut so that I don't have to build all of the catch basins that I need.
I'm trying to create a logo for a portfolio webpage for a 3D artist friend. His Ben, so got attracted to the idea of modifying the "Ben Hur" logo for his website logo. For those who aren't familiar,
I've tried text in Photoshop 7, but can't even get off the mark it's so limited. Does CS2 offer much more, or should I be using another package altogether? The easy option of downloading a "Ben Hur" font seems like a non-starter.
