We have a large list of formats predefined for doing coordinate transformations between various coordinate systems, but there does not seem to be any logical order to the list of formats.
Can I change the order of the list?
We installed C3d 2012 a few months ago. When importing or exporting point I need to select the point file format each time. In previous versions, since we almost always use the same format, once you selected the format and imported/exported points it was selected by default the next time you imported/exported point. Since switching to C3d 2012 we have has issues of wrong format being selected for export (probably import also, but those are probably caught by the user themself).
I have tried creating a new format starting the name with an underscore as we do with the most common styles so that it would be listed at the top of the list. This did not work. It seem to me that the only solution is to delete all other formats to insure the correct format is seclcted. This will cause a problem on those occassions when another format is required.
Is there a way to remove some of the "save as" file formats from the list (when saving a file as...)? After numerous years in my field, there are a number of file formats I have - and probably never will - need to save my files as. If I could remove some of them, then it would speed up my workflow (so that I don't have to scroll down every time I save a file).
View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst time importing into 2012-have csv file that I imported. Coordinates land in right spot. Local system-No transformations/State Plane zones attached. When I look at them with tracking everything is okay. When I export the points they are the same I imported.
When I list the points they are way off?
I just had an internal request for this and I had to look it up. So I'll share what I found and have a place to find it myself next time.
One way to do it is to select a COGO point to bring up the COGO Point Contextual menu tab. In COGO Point Tools you can select List Available Point Numbers.
In Civil 3D 2013, in the Toolbox tab, I go to Report Manager, and select the Points_List, which then creates an HTML file.
I open it up in Chrome and when I print it, part of the point information at the bottom of Page 1 is cut off and shows up at the top of Page 2.
Is there a way to fix this?
Using 2010 Civil3D and trying to use "Reports" to print a point list and I am getting error:
Export LandXML is currently is currently not supporting the following drawing units:
Millimeters, Centimeters, Decimeters, Inches.
I have used the unit command to make sure I am in feet. Niot sure what else to look at.
Is there any way to change the format of Lat/Long in a C3D point list display from degrees, minutes, seconds to decimal degrees? I have looked pretty hard, but can't find anything. The geodetic calculator only does one item at a time, I think. Any plug-ins out there? I suppose this could be on a wish list as well.
I am using R2012.and have ended up manipulating point values in Excel-not a quick way of going about it.
I would like to modified the existing pointlist.xsl.
I would like to use a different font and adjust the text heights smaller, like a 8 pt. for the points, 12 pt for the heading and 6 pt for report data.
I do not see any text size in the file, so how do change these.
Also are there any other point list report available?
I followed the hint of PSP X4 to search the "List of supported RAW formats" on the Corel website. I only find a list for PSP X3 and in this list my camera (a Panasonic Lumix GH-2) isn't listed. Is there any newer list of supported RAW-formats / camera-types and if not, is the GH-2 supported and is there any lens specific correction data in X4 to auto correct the raw files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a surface, to which I've added data from a ENZ file. No problems - I had a workable surface. I want to be able to work on the drawing at home as well as work. So I brought home the DWG as well as the ENZ file thinking that if both were in the same directory, it would work OK. But I get an error saying the Point file can't be found. I can't see any way to make the file reference relative, rather than absolute.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new in using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. I used ArcMAP 10.1 to create a .mxd MAP of 4 points/locations - each point/location has the values of SampleID, XYZ-coordinates, Depth, ChemicalName - see the attached file for details.
I used the ArcToolbox to convert ArcMAP to CAD in the GeoProcess, obtained a DWG, and saved it in a folder of my C:/Temp/CDC_ArcGIS-GeoDatabase folder - see the first page of the attched file. I used AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 to open that DWG file - I played with it in the basic 3D Wireframe a little bit, but I don't know how to display the feature/object of my 4-point MAP - see the last page of my attached file. The background of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 is black. How can I change the background color to white or other light colors?
I am using autodesk autocad civil 3D (Metric).When I am importing point from text file it comes with different scale which is not to 1:1.Actual scale is 1: 3.280 which is exactly equal to 1m :1 ft ratio.
So, my guess is, X,Y,Z coordinates are importing to autocad civil 3D is in feets and measured distance points in meters.
i made a survey, about 2000 points with my TSC3R6. I exported my CSV file to a PNEZD file with comma seperated. When i try ti import the file (CSV then i made a .txt), C3D tells me "no point file format match found". Then I opened the txt file, searched for any error that would not let me import my points. The only thing i have found would be the description of my points that sometimes had a space between 2 words (ex: bt balast and ht balast) so i changed it to bt-balast and ht-balast. i looked further and didnt found anything else. heres a sample of my txt file:

I think this should be an easy thing to do, but I am having problems figuring it out. I need to repath the location of a point file being used in a surface. My surface will not rebuild because it can't find the point file originally used. Drawing was used on a different computer system, so the point file directory is now pointed to the wrong path.

How to I simplify the list of file types in the Save-As file type list? I use less than six file types. I have no need for most of these. It would be nice to have my top 5 and then the ability to go off-menu if needed for others.

I click the proper file format and it shows in the Preview box but the OK box will not go dark so I can clcik on it. The file is a CSv and tried making it a txt with no luck. Using 2012.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch (hundreds, so manual input not an option) of X,Y points without elevation data that I would like to import into a DWG and assign an elevation that is based on an existing surface object. Is there a way to do this for a point file? The command for inserting individual points would be the "Create points - Surface > Random" but I don't see a way to do this in a batch type method where i have my PNE formatted input file to just move the points to sit on the existing surface.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with Autocad Civil 3d 2012. I'm building a corridor of a curb gutter and sidewalk with a daylight of 2:1 on top of an EG surface. The corridor works for about 3/4 of the length but the last section won't connect the daylight to the existing ground surface. There are multiple sections of the corridor with different assemblies.

I get about 33 of these errors each time the corridor rebuilds. I'm not sure whats going on, the corridor has targets set for the surface and still won't connect to it.
I am attempting to x-ref a building model that was drawn in 2013 MEP in a Civil3D drawing that contains the site surface. When I x-ref my building model into the site drawing and attempt to align and scale the building some of my walls become broken and missing. I have a feeling this is a scaling issue because on my site my north wall should be 24' long. The wall is 24' long in MEP, but that same 24' from Civil3D is only a 2' line segment in MEP. How to remedy this? I have tried scale the building model down in MEP first and it causes all kinds of problems with the door and window objects. I tried adjusting the x-ref scale prior to adding the x-ref and it does the same thing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a tool palette that I use which has about 5 or so tabs with about 10 to 50 standard blocks, tables, etc in each tab that is organized by text headers and dividers. It's such a productivity booster I exported the palette to a place on our server that everyone can import them from. My problem is that when they import the tool palettes, the icon images dont come in. We're left with manually updating all the images which is a problem when certain people "don't like change" and don't want to take the time to deal with the technical problems. Maybe I'm missing something, but shouldnt the images come in when you import the palettes?

I have created a building pad on my site and need to extract fill quantity. I set the elevations on my building and created a 5:1 grading object. to the existing ground.Autodesk Instructions are, for the actual building footprint, that I need to create a grading object at 1:1. for the area covered by the actual concrete pad. Need screen shot of the style settings of this grading criteria. because the area is flat it is impossible to determine if the floor area has been built. When I run sections and create volume reports the only fill quantity is from the grading objects that slope out from the pad. I must be overlooking a setting in the style for 1:1.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am building an assembly for a shoulder widening. the sholder is 5' paved plus 5' stabalized tying to existing grade at a 4:1 slope. The two shoulder sections are showing up in the cross section but the tie-down is not. I have checked the target and it is set properly to the existing ground.

I have an existing ground surface with all different z co-ords and im trying to add three proposed buildings to my exisiting ground with all the builidngs having a level of 32.5 as a minimum, however at some points the ground is higher than 32.5 and I only want to raise my existing ground to 32.5 within the proposed buidling layout if it is below 32.5 as im doing a flood calculation. What do i need to for this?
