AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Coordinates Different Between Point List And Point Tracking?
Feb 6, 2013
First time importing into 2012-have csv file that I imported. Coordinates land in right spot. Local system-No transformations/State Plane zones attached. When I look at them with tracking everything is okay. When I export the points they are the same I imported.
Having trouble recently with tracking,For example if i start the line tool, and track from a point, i am given absolute coordinates instead of relative coordinates from that initial point. Absolute coordinates are not much useful to me, I want to be able to start a line at a certain distance from another point.
i am trying to translate a Point coordinates from Paperspce to world coordinates in model space. The code i used in Land2006 worked OK but now in Civil3d 2012 it doesn't!
Private Sub GetPlais_Click() Dim tmpnt1 As Variant, tmpnt2 As Variant, tmpPnt1 As Variant Dim lole(0 To 2) As Double, upri(0 To 2) As Double Dim returnobj As AcadObject
FrmGrid3.Hide On Error GoTo Eline ThisDrawing.Utility.GetEntity returnobj, tmpPnt1, "ÅðÝëåîå ôï ViewPort ðïõ èá äçìéïõñãçèåß ï êÜíáâïò!" If TypeOf returnobj Is IAcadPViewport Then [code]........
I am having trouble locking onto a temporary tracking point in autocad 2011. I can't seem to find the start tracking icon and it doesn't recognize the 'TT' command. I have a tracking line, I just can't seem to do it in two dimensions.
i've got a bunch of points that need a coordinate label. my drawing is on a state plane coordinate base but i want the point labels to be on an artificial coordinate base. i basically need to start in the corner of a parking lot at 0,0 and work my way out from there with the coordinates based on that 0,0. Is this a possibility?

My situation is that I have ground coordinates that are similar to state plane, but because they are not on the grid, they aren't exactly the same. I want to display the coordinates without the first two or three numbers, in order that people won't get confused and think that they are on the grid.
I'm working on a stream restoration project and we need to determine the x coordinates and corresponding elevations along a stream alignment at certain sample lines. The centerline of the stream's alignment has been created as well as sample lines for cross sections at 50' intervals. We need the coordinates & elevations of each sample line (cross section) exported into an excel/txt document.
For instance, at station 1+00 of the alignment we have a sample line. We need to know to the right and left along that sample line the corresponding elevations and that x coordinate) from the alignment. Primarily, whole contour intervals but more information would be useful as well. I was hoping this could be automatically generated.
I am tryiny to import coordinate file like I have so many times and the Select File box keeps telling me "No point file format match found". I click the proper file format and it shows in the Preview box but the OK box will not go dark so I can clcik on it. The file is a CSv and tried making it a txt with no luck. Using 2012.
I just had an internal request for this and I had to look it up. So I'll share what I found and have a place to find it myself next time.
One way to do it is to select a COGO point to bring up the COGO Point Contextual menu tab. In COGO Point Tools you can select List Available Point Numbers.
I am developing an application for C3D using 2010 vb.net. How to build a list of Point File Format names using PointFileFormatCollection and PointFileFormat methods? How to extract the names from PointFileFormatCollection.
How the order of the list of Point File Formats is controlled?
We have a large list of formats predefined for doing coordinate transformations between various coordinate systems, but there does not seem to be any logical order to the list of formats.
Civil 3d 2012..I used 3d orbit, it crashed. My points, point groups and newly updated description keys are gone.I have looked at all my backup files etc, and they do not want to display.
Im still new to Civil 3D and i would like to know how to connect inported points using 3D polylines. I imported my points from Excel in a PNEZD format. How do i get the 3d poly line to snap to my points so I can Connect them? someone mentioned using a feature line to connect the points but im not sure how or what that would do.
I have a database of points I am trying to import, and the point data for each point includes a hyperlink. I've created a set of custom User-Defined Property Classifications for all the data types in the point database, and I've created a point file format to use to import the points.
It's a database of existing curb ramps, the data includes things like widths, slopes, some text, and a hyperlink to the Google Streetview at each ramp. I've created a custom point label that will show the data I need to see at each ramp.
All goes great except that the import fails because of the hyperlinks. I've tested it by removing the hyperlinks from a small test portion of the data set, and the test points are then successfully imported. I suppose I can delete the hyperlinks from the entire database, but if there is a way to include the hyperlinks in the point import I would prefer that.
In uploading the Point input data into the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 software program, is it possible for me to add more Point Attribute items after Point Number, X, Y, Z? I need to have the chemical results/data attached to the (sampling) Point that has the Point #, X, Y, Z - like Point Number, X, Y, Z, Arsenic, Lead, Mercury in the input .txt (or .csv) file.
Is there any way to change the format of Lat/Long in a C3D point list display from degrees, minutes, seconds to decimal degrees? I have looked pretty hard, but can't find anything. The geodetic calculator only does one item at a time, I think. Any plug-ins out there? I suppose this could be on a wish list as well.
I am using R2012.and have ended up manipulating point values in Excel-not a quick way of going about it.
How to set a default point style for point groups? Whenever I import survey points, I always put them into their own point group, so I can display each day's worth of survey data differently. For some reason, the point style always defaults to a certain style (our control point symbol). I'd like it to default to Basic, so I don't have to change this every time. Is it a template drawing setting somewhere?
I’ve been using Autocad LT since 1994 and the Tracking command has always worked the same, now in the newest version (2009) when I Shift + Right Click I only have “Temporary Track Point” on the menu and it works differently then the old Tracking in LT 2002.
If I want to place a Point at a specific area inside a rectangle I would normally select Point then invoke Tracking then select the bottom left corner of the rectangle and move the cursor over to the Right and enter a distance such as 2.1 Enter, then move my cursor up and enter another distance 2.5 Enter, Enter. That would place the point at 2.1,2.5 relative to the lower left corner of the rectangle. I can no longer do this because as soon as I hit Enter after the first distance it places the point there.
I am trying to get point 1234 to show a label that says Point #1234 and then in a grading plan have that same point show up as a spot elevation. I have tried making two point groups "Point #" and "Spot Grades" which include the same points in them with two different label styles for each group, however the point seems to only want to take one label style at a time.
In autocad 8, how could I get the XYZ coordinates of a point, on the drawing. With ID or list command it is possible to get the coordinates of a point, but they would not appear on the drawing the way dimensions do.
My quick question id for an alternative way of exporting a cluster of points as .shp files and then manipulating the .dbf file in order to create an excel/csv file.
Is there another way of exporting my data as .csv or excel from Map3D?
I have a .DWG file and I need to export the coordinates of the points of the profile of the draw. How I can do it with AutoCAD?I specifiy that I have never used autocad.
How do you add the motion path of a tracking point to a clone stamp without the clone stamp assuming the same initial/continuous positions of the tracking point?
Is there a way to keep the clone stamp's initial position and then add the path onto it?I am using the clone stamp to remove unwanted duct tape that was used to keep lights on a wall.
I have a drawing which consists of lines and blocks. I need to write down the (x,y) coordinates of each point of my interest. I expect results to be copy-paste'able, text or plain text preferred.
How should I do that? I guess there is a build-in command for this, I fail to Google it though.
