I was wondering if there is a way to reset the time tracking in AutoCAD. For example, If I use an existing drawing as a starting point for a new drawing, even if I save with a new file name, AutoCAD tracks form the time the original document was created.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOk some times when I go to run details it pops up that it can not load the component database AecDtlComponents (US).mdb file. I go to options and can not do anything there. So I have to close it all down and hope when I reload AA it works. 9 out of 10 times it does. But this is a pain to do when ever you need to add detail stuff. Oh also this happens on more then one computer in the office. running 2012 with sp and all updates on windows 7
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from LT2011 TO Architecture 2013. I always use perpendicular tracking when copy and pasting but when I want to copy (or paste) a certain distance perpendicular to that object it doesn't like it. It's tricky to explain but say I wanted to copy a block of a teble 1200mm from the original block I'd copy, hover over the basepoint and move my cursor in the intended direction and type in 1200 and enter. The previous version of AutoCAD worked this command fine but since the upgrade I'm having trouble. Surely it's something as simple as changing the drafting settings bit I've gone through them all and no luck.

is no preference for this action and it is inexplicable that Adobe would make it this way unless they are determined that one can only open files using Bridge.
I found several methods to alter the regen times, but not ways to SPEED them up.For example: I switch from layout tab to layout tab and my regen time can be up to 30 seconds (I know, doesn't sound long, but it's killing me).How do I speed this up??
View 9 Replies View RelatedOver the past year we have had a problem arise on three projects and I can't seem to track down the cause. The first job it only happened once, the second it happened a few times and now on this third project it has happened twice in three days.
The issue is the dst file becomes corrupt and all of our sheet set info is lost. The backup of the dst file is overwritten every few minutes it seems and by the time we notice a problem, the backup has been overwritten by the corrupt file.
A few questions:
1) What is causing the problem? In reading other posts it seems to have something to do with more than one user writing to the file at the same time (but, this last time it happened, only one person in the office was working on the job).
2) Can we change the time between backups?
3) Is there an easier way to rebuild the sheet set?
I'm getting very long run times to edit x refs in place. Once the exref drawing opens, sometimes after 2 or three minutes, and I make my edit, It can take ten minuted to close the xref.
Drawing are clean, purged, -purged, recovered audited. Computer is new workstation and dedicated to CAD only. Very little opportunity for corrupted files.
After doing a few renders, my drawing now reverts to wireframe every time I close it, save it, regen. how to stop this from happening? It will basically not stay in 2D wireframe and the dwg has become very sluggish.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm in action schematic and if i reset any node (for example images/surface) then some parameter is still not affected. For example : the blend type and surface type and couple more are not affected by that reset function. Is this a bug ?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen drawing lines or moving something, what looks like a tracking point will pop up but then won't go away, it's not selectable, and regen won't get rid of it. a save and reopen is the only way it goes away.
it only does this in 2 of the user log in names, and it's worse in the other one. it puts the x everywhere you click. here's a screen capture of what's going on. the brown x over in the upper right is the trouble. it used to be on one of the lines, but on a regen moved to there. this was just random lines and moving the mouse around to acquire snap and tracking points.

I note that from time to time I can't see the counter and this is quite an annoyance. When the invisible pointer hover over or passes over an object, the latter will highlight as usual. I have to close and restart the drawing each time due to this issue. Is there an explanation for it, even a solution to prevent this from happening?
NOTE : This is limited to the drawing area only. I can see the pointer in the menu/toolbar area and outside autocad but not in the drawing area.
I´m working with AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 on Windows 7 and when I use Coordinate Tracking I used to get fatal errors.The error occurs when trying to select a category from the list in the panel on the left. Strange enough, the error doesn´t occur when I first right-click in the list.

strangly enough its does give me one tracking option (read line) wile drawing at 5°
and when i draw a square it seems like my plane is off a bit (prolly 5°, looks like a perspective)

I really like the object snap tracking feature to snap between 2 points intersecting but I find it overly sensitive and hard to get it right the first time.
Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity? I use this feature frequently.
I have a drafter that is using AutoCAD LT 2013. When they are drafting it acts like the Snap is on and Poplar tracking does not seem to be working. They do not have Snap on and they are using Polar tracking.
Have looked at all the setting that I can think of and compaired it to my AutoCAD 2009, full version. Our setting are identical. We both have Windows 7. I have mine set to look like XP, they have theirs with a custom looking display.
I love the feature of Object Snap Tracking but for some reason or another it has stopped working. I normally use F11 to turn it on or go through the drafting settings menu to turn it on. The Object Snap Tracking box is checked and should work, but it doesn't. Is there a magic variable that needs to be set?

For example, when drawing a simple rectangle after drawing (2) sides, If I go to snap to my initial starting point to show a vertical extension line to intersect with my third line I am drawing, the vertical extension will not show up, even though the horizontal extension line is visible, and even though it snaps to the my starting point to where I wish have the polar tracking show the vertical extension.

Help says that the Track path System Variable should be = 1, but when the button is on, the Variable = 0. If I set the Variable = 1, it shuts the button off.

However in some instances only the model space coordinates are displayed- not distances. Is there any way to ensure that only distances appear?
I’ve been using Autocad LT since 1994 and the Tracking command has always worked the same, now in the newest version (2009) when I Shift + Right Click I only have “Temporary Track Point” on the menu and it works differently then the old Tracking in LT 2002.
If I want to place a Point at a specific area inside a rectangle I would normally select Point then invoke Tracking then select the bottom left corner of the rectangle and move the cursor over to the Right and enter a distance such as 2.1 Enter, then move my cursor up and enter another distance 2.5 Enter, Enter. That would place the point at 2.1,2.5 relative to the lower left corner of the rectangle. I can no longer do this because as soon as I hit Enter after the first distance it places the point there.
Having trouble recently with tracking,For example if i start the line tool, and track from a point, i am given absolute coordinates instead of relative coordinates from that initial point. Absolute coordinates are not much useful to me, I want to be able to start a line at a certain distance from another point.
