View 6 RepliesI was wondering if there is a way to reset the time tracking in AutoCAD. For example, If I use an existing drawing as a starting point for a new drawing, even if I save with a new file name, AutoCAD tracks form the time the original document was created.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI´m working with AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 on Windows 7 and when I use Coordinate Tracking I used to get fatal errors. The error occurs when trying to select a category from the list in the panel on the left. Strange enough, the error doesn´t occur when I first right-click in the list.

Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity? I use this feature frequently.
I am trying to come up with a way to track a block or xref in multiple drawings. I have multiple drawings that have the same block in them and I was hoping that there was a way I could find out what drawings have the block without having to open up every single drawing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from LT2011 TO Architecture 2013. I always use perpendicular tracking when copy and pasting but when I want to copy (or paste) a certain distance perpendicular to that object it doesn't like it. It's tricky to explain but say I wanted to copy a block of a teble 1200mm from the original block I'd copy, hover over the basepoint and move my cursor in the intended direction and type in 1200 and enter. The previous version of AutoCAD worked this command fine but since the upgrade I'm having trouble. Surely it's something as simple as changing the drafting settings bit I've gone through them all and no luck.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed some issues with Osnap tracking not working consistently with a floating command line. It seems to happen especially when trying to track back along an object.
No problems whatsoever when command line is docked.
Since AutoCAD 2013, I'm not able to use tracking when inserting block from tool palette. Example, I want to insert a door at 6 inches from a wall. I click the door from the tool palette, leave a tracking point at the wall corner, move the cursor in the right direction and type 6 follow by enter. The door is insert randomly in the drawing. It was working perfectly in previous release.
Actually I had to insert the door anywhere in the drawing and moving it at the right place and rotate it if required, it is very tedious.
I used object snap tracking for years.Since I upgraded to AutoCad 2014 why does object snap tracking only work with Dynamic input turned on?
Personally I do not like to work with Dynamic imput on, when I use object snap tracking with out DI turned on it doen't work right. Past versions worked fine. What do I do to get this back?
I need to change a text item in about 200 drawings. I would rather do this at one time if at all possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI’ve just worked on a series of clients drawing using AutoCad 2009. They are using AutoCad 2013. out of 20 or so drawings several drawings when opening with 2013 open up with Errors requesting recovery is required due to any number of errors ranging from 3 to 7 on average. The error message asks [yes] to recover and it aborts or [no] to continue and the drawing opens ok without further error. If I recover the drawings, and save-as 2013 or other, the same errors appear regardless. However if I open the same drawings using my version of 2009, I didn’t get any errors. The original drawings were compatible with 2009 without conversion.

The balloon is effectively acting like trying to put two magnets with the same polarity together... I just can't get it in the right place.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I have this script I used to run in AutoCAD 2011 which involved mirroring a group of many layers and then moving the "last" object created. In 2011, when I moved "last", it considered everything I mirrored to be "last." In 2012, it is taking strinctly the last object I created, not the group of layers that I mirrored, to be "last." Is there an internal variable I can change so that "last" can mean everything I just mirrored again?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the "Design Tracking Properties" - "File Subtype" (Please see attached picture)
The following code works, except for "File Subtype"
Set oFileSubTypeProperty = oCompDef.Document.PropertySets.Item("Design Tracking Properties").Item("File Subtype")
Set oPartNumberProperty = oCompDef.Document.PropertySets.Item("Design Tracking Properties").Item("Part Number")
Set oStockNumberProperty = oCompDef.Document.PropertySets.Item("Design Tracking Properties").Item("Stock Number")
Set oDescriptionProperty = oCompDef.Document.PropertySets.Item("Design Tracking Properties").Item("Description")
Inventor 2012, DWG drawing file Revision table - iLogic
Using iLogic, how to extract data from "Design Tracking Properties" in a revision table to an embedded or linked Excel spread sheet? Design Tracking Properties like "Today's Date", "Designer", "Checked By", "Eng Approved By" are of great interest.
I don't know how useful this will be but I was trying to figure out how to track what item number in an assembly any given part may be. I was thinking that on an individual part drawing I may want to reference the item number that is used in an assembly's Bill of Material for that part. I can't find where this may be stored for retrieval. If I do this I would want it to be automated so that if the BoM were renumbered the part file and drawing would update to the new item number.
This may not be possible since any part may be used in any number of different assemblies with different locations in a Bill of Material. Most of our assemblies use "one off" parts that are only used in that assembly so it may be possible in my particular situation to do this if there is a way to get at the BoM item number and connect it to the IPT file.
Is there any way for editing more then one meshes at a time? For example: I want to extrude, bevel, connect components of my two cubes at the same time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMonths ago I downloaded photoshop CS5 by means the assistant. The 1st downloaded file came in corrupted and the 2nd attempt was not different. Both did not run. On that time I employed to download a 3G modem.
People from the support in the forum advised me not to download the files through 3G.Today I downloaded CS6 by means a fast ADSL connection , employing the Adobe Download Assistant.the downloaded finished I ran the installation, which ran normally .
Then as I attempted to start CS6 it crashed.I ask you whether there is any trouble with the setup available to download?
Yesterday, I upgraded from LR 4.0 to 4.1. Ever since that moment, when I try to launch it, Lightroom displays a progress bar with message: "Checking Catalog Point Curves". The progress bar advances to about 10% and then stops. I waited for about 20 minutes and it did not move at all. I had to force-quit. I tried that for a couple of times - same results.
Why did Adobe decide to start a new mode of UPDATING the old version instead of REPLACING the old version with the new one, like it used to be? As it was before, I could simply get back to using the older version. Now, there is no going back!
Do you even know what "Checking Catalog Point Curves" means?
I have lots of layers and I need to turn off all of them not one by one.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was inserting blocks. I was trying to insert more than one block at the same time. If I have to insert each block every single time, that's just so slow. There must be another way to make it easier to bring up more than one block at the same time.
I am using both Mac version and windows version of AutoCAD. In the mac version, when tried to open up block editor, for some reason, it says the BLOCKEDITOR = 0 (read only). I couldn't even get into block editor to make changes for my block.
So I have my properties pallete and layer pallete docked on the left side of screen. They dont stay open long enough so I was wondering if there is a time setting to stay open then automatically dock themselves back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSetting that will turn on snap all of the time instead of just when a command is active. You can't even tell that snap is on unless certain commands are active. The cursors doesn't snap on the BREAK command thus I can't use a two point break with any accuracy because the cursor doesn't snap until after the object is selected.
I need snap ALL THE TIME not just when certain commands are active.
How do you change the palette delay time?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI get an error every time I open any drawing after it has been saved in 2013. Opening a dwg that was created in an earlier version does not give the error, but after I save it in 2013, it does.
If I create a new dwg in 2013, save it, close it and then open it I don't get the error the first time. But then if I save that dwg again, I will get it the next time I open it.
The exact error is:
One error was found in the drawing file during open. Would you like to cancel this open?It is recommended you cancel the open and run the RECOVER command on the drawing file.
I run the recover command. It says it found, fixed, and erased 1 error. I save, close, and reopen the drawing and the error still appears every time.
I would like to add a "vertici" to the middle of the side of a rectangle solid and pull this up to form a triangle.
