Is there a way to generate a roof based from plines? Like this but without tracing? I need to generate multiple roofs at once with the same slope ect.

Joining roofs.
I'm trying to join two roofs together by extending onto the other - Unfortunately the one to be extended is higher than the other roof (see attached image).
Both roofs are created by footprint.

Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor what I need Photoshop for, I use CMD-E all the time to create raster graphics from vector shapes. I often use this feature to combine shape layers to create buttons. So, this completely destroys my work flow. The only work around I've found is to create an additional raster layer to merge with the vector layers.

I do not get why new Archicad Architecture has 3d modeling when Revit architecture already provided for it. What is the different between those two? I really want to know the difference. It bothers me somewhat about them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two SDF fileswith simpley polygon, lets say parcels boundary in the A.sdf, each feature has 10 feature data properties, i.e. taxid, owner, zone, value etc in the B.sdf, each feature has 3 feature data properties i.e. area, layer, colour
I would like to move all the features from B.sdf to A.sdf, however at the least I need to ensure that features moved from B.sdf now has the same number (10)of feature data properties as in A.SDF..Only solution I could come up with is to import A.sdf file into Map3D so that I have a datatable. erase all the features, then B.sdf file and use the attach data to attach the table data to each feature then output to A.sdf using append.
I create a .net automation application to print to pdf with layers. There are more 30+ layers in the drawing, I like to have the layer information in the pdf file but like to merge them to a couple:
e.g.
PDF Layer 1 show AutoCAD Layer A1, A2, A3, ...,
PDF Layer 2 show AutoCAD Layer B1, B2, B3, ...,
PDF Layer 3 show AutoCAD Layer C1, C2, C3, ...,
...
I think there will be 3 solution here:
a) merge them at the time of AutoCAD printing
b) merge layer in pdf
c) create bookmark in pdf. I have used iTestSharp to generate PDF file, merge PDF files but cannot find a solution for this. How I can do it programmically?
I am trying to combine a .CTB file from one of our consultants with ours without overwriting each others colors, pen weights and styles. How can i do that? we both have our own CTB file and we both use about the same colors and thicknesses but for different items (i.e. our consultants red is a thick line used for exterior walls, and our red is used for light lines beyond).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an external ilogic rule that creates a set of DWF drawings for all parts and subassemblies (as long as the idw files exist) within and including a main assembly.
I would like to merge all the DWF drawings of the sub assemblies and component parts into the DWF of the main assembly. Is there a method within DWFAddIn that will allow me to merge the files? Is there another way that I can merge the DWF files using the same ilogic rule (one rule to create and merge all DWF's together?)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working with a mesh. Let's say one part of that mesh is planar 4 sided face. I need to split that face, so I use Split Face tool to split it into two 4 sided faces. Then, after some time, I need to merge these two faces, so I use Merge Face tool, but after faces are merged, vertexes on 2 edges of that face remain (they marked the start and the end of the split line).
Now how do I get rid of these vertexes? I tried simply moving them to the nearest corner, but if I do this, they do not merge with corner vertex, they only sit on top of each other. It becomes difficult to later alter them, and commands like ConvertToSolid do not work anymore.
So how do I delete or merge vertexes? (simply pressing Delete key while vertex is selected deletes edge and nearest faces).
Attaching screenshots.
The face I'm going to split:

Faces after splitting:

Vertexes that remain after merging faces:

These vertexes in center (on edges) are the ones I need to get rid of.
I have modeled object from top and from profile. How can I merge these two views into one 3d model? I tried sweep and extrude but that didn't give any results . These are the top and profile view.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAs more and more clients, subs, etc., etc are requesting pdf's more and more often, the issue of "lines merge" vs. "lines overwrite" (and therefore, pdf "flattening" when printing a pdf) is becoming more of a topic of discussion in our office.
I know we're not the only office making pdf's that have to be "flattened" (thereby taking a huge amount more of time to print) when sending to a printer.... but not *all* pdf's we receive need to be flattened so there are some offices that don't have to deal with this issue.
The question is this:
If you use lines merge = on in your autocad, do you have a way to get pdfs that don't need to be flattened? (printing to dwf then pdf is not a reliable option either, as that does not consistantly honor the lines merge feature between dwf/pdf either)
If you don't use lines merge then how do you set up your drawings to allow for easy draworder handling? (and do you use solid hatching patterns in your drawings, which we rely on alot)
Having trouble with the layer merge command. I haven't used it since we upgraded to 2008. I try it on my computer and it doesnt work. Then my boss tried it on his station and it didn't work there either. It recognizes the command but when you click a target it does nothing and just goes back to a clean command prompt.

I´m building a solid in inventor 2012 and I exported the model to ANSYS for Finite element analysis. The problem is that ANSYS
don´t recognize the solid as one part only and also can't assume connection between some lines and areas. I want to merge a part with inventor, so inventor can export the model as a solid 1 part. In solid works there is the option to merge a file when I save a file for exporting. How can I merge a single solid in inventor 2012?
