I'm not sure what happened but all of a sudden when I try to open an existing drawing it no longer pops up a box to browse, it asks me in my command bar at the bottom to type in the name of the drawing. The same thing happens when I try to "save as" a drawing... How to get this back to normal?

I just installed Autocad Architecture 2009 on a new computer. Content Browser will not open from the drop down menu or from the Start menu. I have now uninstalled Autocad Architecture 2009 and all Autodesk applications, deleting all folders and autocad registry folders then re-installed with no sucess. Everything else seems to be working fine.

I have this macro,but it opens the folder not the drawing,

I know the possibility of a plot style just disappearing is slim to none, but I have this user that constantly claims her plot styles have "disappeared".
When I check them, the entire "Plot Style" folder is gone. One day it's there the next it's gone.
She also has this problem with the DWG to PDF print option. It was there, now it's gone. She claims she isn't deleting anything. I will get them back on her PC and a few months later they will be gone.
She is a contract worker who also spends time at her office off site. I am not sure what version of AutoCAD she is using. I manage an AutoCAD group of about 20 users and none have this problem.
We are using ACA2010 and use the project navigator to bring constructs into views then bring the views into sheets, which has been working great, but in the last few months we have gone to a sheet only to find that the view no longer contains the constructs. I was working on a project on Friday and the Site Plan view no longer had the site xrefed into it which I fixed, now today the Site Plan is fine but the Roof Plan is empty. This is not the 1st project this has happened to but it is the 1st time it has happened to me so I know nobody changed something they should not have. Is there a known bug in 2010 or something I should check. I don't want this to happen to the Floor Plan if it does I will lose all my dimensions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery so often while working in LT-2010 the cross hairs will vanish from the screen but you are still able to pick items (as u move the mouse lines, etc hi-light in the usual way) also when you come outside the drawing area the mouse pointer will reappear (only while outside the drawing, in the command bars, etc)
the only quick way to return the cross hair to normal is to hit another tab & then re-enter the tab or model i was in. there seems to be no particular command that causes this glitch .
Im new to autocad and started designing my own house in archictecture 2010.
I've been having a propblem with the roof design at the moment, i am trying to get the gable ends of the roof to stand up on a 90 angle on both sides by editing the edges/faces but every time i do this the roof ends disappear so theres a hole in the sides of the roof and you can see into the house. How to do this so they do not disappear?
I can't get the content browser. I tried all keys (Ctrl+4, Ribbon,Tool) nothing works even after a complete shut down and a restart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf we have both the Xref and the File that it is referenced into open on one of the computers here and we reload, the Xref disappears. If we do an undo and close the Xref it reloads without problem.
I tried to replace the user profile from another PC that doesn’t have the problem, but it didn’t work. Is there a Registry setting that cause this behavior? All stations set to “Enabled with copy”

We have just installed ACA 2012 on one of our workstations and randomly the crosshairs will disapear in paperspace. We will still get the cursor icon if we hover over properties and paletts etc. We have the latest service pack and ribbon hotfix. Searching hasn't come up with much.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently added a block ( by dragging & dropping from our dws block library file) to our shared Tool Palettes. The block showed up properly on everone's computer the day I added it. However each morning when we restart our computers the block is no longer on the palette and I have to redrag & drop it. I thought that prerhaps I needed to export the updated toolpalette, but when I go to the customize tool palettes dialog box and right click on the toolpalette I don't see the export or import options. I am at a loss. We are using AutoCAD Architecture 2013

Then if you left click, right click, it will list the final distance down in the command window. The machine in question no longer displays the distance on the page as you go. This is a very useful feature for us, and although we can distance things, using the text readout in the command window takes much longer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason unknown to us the Project Browser has double entries for the current projects: that is, a project shows up twice, with the same job number and such.
Windows Explorer correctly shows only one project folder, and in the Project Browser selecting either entry will bring up the project correctly.So, functionally we could live with this but I'd like to clean this up and I think deleting either entry would actually delete the project.
I'm using Acad Architecture 2010, and my quick access toolbar does not have the Project Browser Icon, and my application panel has no Save or Open Project Browser either. I can only get to it by "Configure" in Project Standards panel. It is not in CUI.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the 'Room tag with Dimensions' from the Content Browser. When it comes into the drawing, the room name is not centered above the rest of the tag text. So, I opened the block and moved the text and then saved the block. When I go to use the tag again - it tags everything - walls, doors, windows, etc...
Also, the drag and drop function does not work well - I have to drag a tool several times into the drawing from the content browser in order for it to work..
My content browser doesn't have the original options it used to have, instead it has a customized version. But the customized version does not have anything in it. How do I get it back? No matter where I search in CAD or in my files I can't find the original. Do I have to uninstall and install the program again?

My content browser is being finicky. The palettes are there, I can select the I-drop but when I release the dropper in my file, nothing happens, no error, no content???
Is it possible to unload and reload just the content browser?
I have used the Content Browser sparsely in the past to drag and drop items to a tool palette....but I was thinking it may be a go location to manage our detail library....
As a test i had tried to drag or copy past autocad details into the content browser with no success. I suppose there is a process to make linework usable for the content browser.
Do i need to convert the linework into a multi-view object and then drag it from the style manager into the content browser?

I've recently upgraded to Win7 64bit. In Acad Architecture (trial versions 2010,2011 &2012)The content browser has nothing in it and the tool palettes aren't there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.
When I am browsing to open drawings for some reson the back button doesn't work with the ACA2011 file browser. The mouse button works fine with all other applications so am I correct to assume something is wrong with the ACA file browser?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use AA in the office but we have one version of autocad straight on a laptop. How can I get a tool palette we created in AA into autocad? I understand in AA that you use the content browser in AA to export a palette group but then how do you actually get that into Autocad for use? I think autocad uses an atc file or something like that.
Also, when trying to export the tool palette in AA using the content browser, the help file said I should be able to grab the tool palette and slide/ copy it into the new cataloque I created in the content browser. However, eveytime I grab onto the tool palette, the content browser woudl disappear. I finally just selected all of the items in my tool palatte and copied/ pasted them into the category folder I created within the new catalogue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just migrated from 2006 to 2012... I was able to get my old custom tool palettes into 2012 by opening the Content Browser and idropping them. However I noticed that these palettes are not 'refreshable' like they used to be. In the Palette Properties it says *This palette is not shared from a catalog*... after doing a search of that message in these forums I found this thread: [URL]....
I followed David's instructions:
1. Created a new Palette Group
2. Created a new palette in that Group
3. i-dropped tools from my custom catalog in the Content Browser onto that new palette.
Still there is no 'refresh' option...???
we are having a problem here at our office. this revolves around one file. When I open the file, some objects (text, hatch, lines - all different layers) disappear. This happens before any command is made, and the object that disappear are on layers that are active and not frozen on all viewports. Also, the rest of the objects on the layer are visable. Other objects on these layers are visable, and the objects that disappeared are not visable on the model space or paper space. On top of that, when someone else opens the file, different objects turn invisable, and they can see the things I cant. The drawing takes about 5+ mins to load, dispite it being not a very large file. I tried purging unused items, reconciling layers, unhiding everything, freezing and unfreezing all layers and restarting autocad.
Coincidentaly the x-ref dwg is having a very similar issue.
Using Civil 3D 2011, I have a topo drawing that's about 2 miles long. The points have styles to them to show the actual survey item such as manhole, trees, signs, etc. I have also created a point group called "no display" that I have added certain points to so they don't show up in the topo. While adding additional points to the "no display" point group, I have noticed that ALL the points but 3 have vanished from the drawing.We just installed the SP2.

While editing a drawing (opened from the network), the drawing switches to read-only when she tries to save it, and the .dwg file on the network folder from which she opened the file disappears. The lock files are still there, but the .dwg is gone. She can do a Save As, so she hasn't lost any work (yet!), but the problem has me perplexed.
This problem started when we converted her to Civil 3D 2011. At the same time we also upgraded her to Windows 7 64-bit.
I have about 20 other users on this same platform, she's the only one who's had this problem. I've done a repair install but that didn't fix it. I haven't yet done a full uninstall & reinstall, maybe that's what I should do next.
I have a network recovery bin application running on the server, but it has no record of the file being deleted.
