Dec 27, 2012I have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.

Aug 10, 2012Since this week we have autocad 2013 installed. Everything works correct except for the saving part , 90 % of the time if we save an drawing it crashes .

- Search on google
- clean install only windows & autocad 2013 installed.
Specs :
- Intel Xeon CPU 5160 @ 3,00 Ghz ( 2 processors )
- 8 GB of memory

We did alot of research on google but can't really find an solutions , autocad 2012 had no problems with saving files.
Also tried different drawing but even if i start an new drawing and will save it , mostly autocad crashing.

How do I change the settings so that when I hover over an object, whether it be a line or a cross hatched area, it will highlight that object so I know the length or area of the object?

Oct 21, 2013I have recently installed Autocad 2014 and am experiencing very slow and jumpy files when using x-refs. The other machines in the office where I work are not experiencing the same problem and apparently my machine is more powerful.
Originally we thought this might be a network issue (as x-refs are being referenced through the network) but when I put the actual reference files on my computer, I experienced the same issue.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Crashes When Closing Out Of Drawings?
Apr 12, 2013We sold a customer a new Dell Precision Laptop - i7 16GB Memory, 512GB Solid State hard drive, Windows 7 64bit. He had upgraded to AutoCad 2013 from 2006. Since installing the laptop when he closes out of a drawing Autocad crashes, windows reports that the program had unexpectedly quit. It doesn't do it all of the time, but it could have something to do with multiple drawings, plotting etc, but it's not an easy one to generate. He does have an older plotter - DesignJet 500 that's installed through a network share off of another computer however I did completely remove the printer / driver and the issue was still occuring.

May 28, 2013We are copying our original files to a sub folder to make revisions that have only happened after bidding. We want to keep our original bid documents intact. I have created a sub folder called 'Confirmed Documents' and added Constructs, Sheets, Elements, etc.
I copied the files over and used the Reference Manager to repath the files. However, all of my schedules and room tags now use the 'NA' prefix because it is not reading the project information. How can i reconnect this folder to the project folder?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Publishing Multiple Drawings To PDF
Jan 28, 2013I've started having a problem with the Publish command when publishing multiple drawings to PDF.
When I plot a drawing using the plot command, I don't have a problem.
When I publish one drawing using the Publish command it is also fine.
It is only when I try to publish multiple files that the problem occurs- the PDFs are produced, but the it is as if the drawing contents (paper space) has been shifted up by 10mm or so, cutting off the top of the drawing, and creating a larger margin at the bottom of the drawing. I use exactly the same page setup as for the single drawing plot.
There seems to be no setting that would change this, and the fact that publishing a single drawing works suggests that there is some kind of bug. At the moment i have to plot every drawing individually (or get my colleague to do it- it works fine on his machine, same page setup file!)

Dec 21, 2013Combining multiple drawings in one go, I have 100 drawings (each has its layout) stored in 100 dwg files. I’m wondering if there is a way to combine them in one dwg file in one go assuming that they don’t overlap.
I need then to edit the title block of all of these layout knowing that this title block is an Xref.

Jan 18, 2013We are currently using autocad 2013 LT on windows 7 64bit. The program runs a bit slower than 2012 but the main issue is as follows.
when closing a drawing or multiple drawings (wether they have been recently saved or not) autocad will go into a "not responding" mode and then crash out. This happens at about 70% of the time and is completely random. It may crash a drawing one time but not the next time you are in the same drawing, or when closing multiple drawings may allow you to save some of them when cad closes but then crashes before all of them are saved. We have all of the current updates and fixes. We had the same issue with 2012 but not nearly as often.

Sep 14, 2012why the content of a Configurator panel dissapears when I leave Photoshop and return? The panel loads fine at startup but when I go to another app and return, the panel is empty. The name of the panel is there, just no contents.

Jun 5, 2012I'm having some difficulty in deciding how to go about creating a title block for my drawings. I have attempted to create the title block with Document fields from the drawing properties custom properties tab, and creating the same fields with information from the Sheet / Sheet Set fields. Both title blocks used attributes inside the block to house the fields, and both were .dwt files.
Is there a way to take the properties from the .dwt drawing into a newly created drawing, or is there a way to link custom sheet set properties with a newly created sheet set? The main goal is to not have the user manually input multiple custom fields either in the drawing properties or the sheet set manager of the new drawing.

Jun 16, 2013we got the big size file (file A), we fix it then we copy/ paste information (e.g. texts) from the other bad file (file B). File A becomes big size again although texts were copied is simple.

May 22, 2013Is it possible to show two different viewports in the same layout that show views from two different drawings? So one viewport would show a section of the current drawing's modelspace, and the second viewport would show a a section of modelspace from another drawing? (and possibly update automatically like an XREF?) Or would the easiest way be to just XREF both drawings into a new drawing, and then show viewports from them in the new drawing?
