I have a drawing with 72 layouts in it. I also have two drawings with one layout each, that I want to appear in the first drawing. How do I import the layouts from one drawing to the next? I found, "to import layouts as sheets", but it does not seem to be what I need.

When I try to switch to a different layout in a drawing AutoCAD will switch to a different drawing. Then I have to go and get back to that drawing to do anything to the layout.

If not, where might I find MDT 2005. I have looked everywhere and it seems to be non existant. It would be alot faster than rebuilding anew in inventor and engineers hate to redo something alredy done correctly.
Is there a way to turn off all section tags for drawings refering to all Sketch Layouts in all the Construction Document Layouts?

I asked for a .dwg file of the contours that were developed. The .dwg file they provided does not have our autoCAD map on it. They are simply contour lines. These contour lines, however, have the same coordinate system as our mine map. The surveyor and I provided coordinate data to the company to develop the contour lines. I would like to lay these contours into our mine map. How do I import the contour .dwg file into our mine map file so that they lay exactly where they should?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to figure out how to copy a Layout from one DWG to another. I know there are several threads about this, and I have tried the methods they reccomend, but I am having an unusual problem.
I have been trying to open a Layout by using the "from Template" option for creating a new Layout, then opening the DWG containing the desired Layout. It works, but everything drawn in model space ends up compressed into the lower left corner and there is nothing in model space. So, the paper space information from the Layout is being imported, but the drawing info is getting mixed up somehow.
I have tried using the Design Center with identical results.
Say I have 10 .dwg files. Each .dwg file has a printable layout, a load of geometry, and in particular, a layer called "Animals" with some geometry on it. During .dwg creating some of the CAD engineers turned off the "Animals" layer in MSPACE and saved the drawing.
I now want to come along as the reviewer and plot these 10 .dwg files all with the "Animals" layer turned on. Currently I'd have to go into every .dwg file and turn back on the "Animals" layer, and then plot.
I am trying to create a lisp to delete all the empty layouts from mydrawings. I do not see any code to control this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a csv file that has the drawing names and their layout names listed in columns A and B. Before I begin a project, I have to create the Sheet List (in Excel) and the csv file. The csv file is needed because I have a lisp routine that reads the csv and updates all my Title Block attributes in all my drawings. (VERY sweet program) What I'm wanting to do, is create new layouts (using my dwt) based on the information in the csv file. So, when I start a new project all I need to do is create the base drawing files first. Then, in my csv file I've got those drawing names listed in Column A and their corresponding sheet titles (Layout names) in Column B. I run the lisp and it reads the csv and creates layouts in all those base drawings and naming the layouts with the sheet titles from column B.

I'm needing a way to automate creating hundreds of layouts at once. [and filtered so it doesn't create duplicates so I can run the routine at a later date when new sheets are added to the drawings] Captcha?

I am wanting to import pdf's of drawings into my AC08. I just want them in there for reference purposes, i draw submittals and have them in pdf format and on paper, just on big jobs nice to be able to just scroll over and reference rooms and such. I dont need them to be to scale or scalable. I copied and pasted some in but they were so small, by the time i zoomed in on them they just look like a bunch of vectors and not very legible.

I created a 3d model, and is now trying to put the views on a layout. There seems to be something that causes the view to overlap itself. I have attached a screenshot of the model & layout respectively. On the layout the color members are the ones not supposed to be there. I have printed the layout, and the result is the same as the screenshot.

how can I define the plot style/ page setup within the PUBLISH command?
I have created a profile showing existing and finish grade. I can't seem to control the appearance of the existing grade line and the finish grade line individually. I need finish grade to be color 161 and existing grade to be color 252, but whatever I set as a color applies to both.
I have done this in the past with no trouble at all, but can't seem to get it to work now. I even tried importing settings from drawings with that display, but nothing has worked yet.
We have some heavy drawings with many layouts. Each layout contains multiple viewports. It takes up to 10-15 minutes to switch layout. When we insert a new xref we would like it to appear in all viewports except one. This applies to all layouts.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am importing drawings from autocad which are known to bend correctly in real life. However, when I bend the parts on inventor, there is interferance with the corners. Material is 18 GA. HRPO, bend radius and k-factor are updated correctly (to my knowledge). In my "folded" image, is there a way to prevent the part from bending past the bend line?

I have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.

It is a slight pain removing these from the selection to be published and I was wondering how I get it to only select models and not layouts when opening the publish command as default.

The Sheet Set Manager (SSM) seems to import the layout tabs in random order, not in the order they appear on the drawing, nor in alphabetical or numerical order. In addition, the SSM imports and numbers all of my drawings in reverse order. Any system variable setting, or some other property setting somewhere that will change this back to ascending order?

We did alot of research on google but can't really find an solutions , autocad 2012 had no problems with saving files.
Also tried different drawing but even if i start an new drawing and will save it , mostly autocad crashing.
I just installed Acad v. 2014. I opened up an existing file, went to select a line, but noticed that the line does not highlight when I hover over it like my last version. How do I change the settings so that when I hover over an object, whether it be a line or a cross hatched area, it will highlight that object so I know the length or area of the object?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Autocad 2014 and am experiencing very slow and jumpy files when using x-refs. The other machines in the office where I work are not experiencing the same problem and apparently my machine is more powerful.
Originally we thought this might be a network issue (as x-refs are being referenced through the network) but when I put the actual reference files on my computer, I experienced the same issue.
