AutoCAD 2013 :: Quality Of PDF Output When Underlay Is Used
Mar 6, 2013I'm using a PDF overlay which looks perfect in CAD and print Preview. When printing to PDF the quality drops to a level which is useless. I have tired increasing DPI and Quality settings but the outcome is the same.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Quality Of PDF Output When PDF Underlay Is Used
Nov 5, 2012I'm not sure if I have a difficulty with all .pdf plots from AutoCAD, or if it mainly concerns those with .pdf underlays. I am generating some drawings usings .pdf underlays with other information added to the underlay information.
The underlay appears to be exhibit good line and text resolution. When I zoom into the overlay, I can read the information and the quality looks great.
The problem seems to be when I then plot a drawing as a .pdf. Using Acrobat to increase the zoom level, the lines and text on the drawing become very distorted and are hard to read.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Editing SDF Schema / Properties In 2012?
Apr 10, 2012how to edit the schema/properties of an SDF in Map 3D? I need to edit existing properties. I have followed the instructions in 'Help', but even after clicking on 'Edit Schema' in the schema editor, I have no luck. I have been able to add/delete properties but have not been able to edit other things (such as existing property titles, display order, Type etc).
I have about 30 SDF files that were converted from SHP using FME. I know I can manipulate them in FME but each file has different properties and it will take me quilte a bit of time as I am not super familiar with it.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Unable To Create Output File
Aug 27, 2013I'm having some difficulty with a new issue that is occuring:I have a 3D model that I'm attempting to render. It has rendered recently with no issues. Now, this morning, I get the following error message:
Unable to create output file - Make sure destination directory is writable and that the disk is not full. Rendering aborted.The drive is only approx. 30% full. I've closed/reopened the file to no avail.Also, I've closed/restarted ACAD.It always seems that AutoCAD acts goofy whenever I have a deadline.

Dec 19, 2013A way to automatically output a point into a table. For instance having a table searching for a specific block reference or point inside a block or external reference and submitting this into a table with x,y coordinates?
I make a lot of civil drawings and sometime i need to list up relevant coordinates. In stead of manually plotting these in a table i would like to list them up automatically.

Sep 27, 2013i have been provided a library for a plugin i have recently purchased. The library was kindly given to me but it isnt actually part of the addin so it comes with no support. It appears that it has been created in 2014 whereas i have 2013.
Can it be downgraded without downloading & installing 2014?
Can a library be downgraded to 2013 from 2014 without opening & saving each file separately? there are approx 1500 parts
parts are not interoperable within the software. There cant be that much difference between a 2013 & 2014 file surely.....

Sep 23, 2011Running inventor 2010, Installed 2012 to get myself acquainted with the program before totally making the switch, In an assembly everytime I constrain something, or move it it gives me this error. Also I cannot bring this assembly into a drawing because of unresolved issues, yet i have fixed all resolved issues. I would like to get the ribbon platform down before I uninstall inventor 2010...any possibilities

Apr 15, 2013I have an issue with 2013 that I loose command line output; as in no muttering or cmdecho but I do not have anything set to that way. My cmdecho is set to 1, and nomutt is set to 0.
If I opent textscr then I can see the out put, but nothing on the command line.
I have never seen this before but it just started withing the last week or so and it makes debugging a real difficult.

Revit :: Incorrect Schema Error
Jul 14, 2012I was working on a file earlier today when it failed while processing after I edited a particularly extensive mass. It asked if I wanted to save a recovery file, I said yes, but I am not sure it worked properly (it might have said 'could not be saved' but i clicked 'OK' quickly so i could re-open revit and get on with work)
Anyways, when I went back to start again it said I had to manually recover the file and that I should ask Autodesk support. I looked on forums and they said i should go to the 'open' dialogue box, check the 'audit' box and reopen the file, but after doing this I got a second error message that said something along the lines of "your file has an incorrect schema'.
This project is not part of any collaboration, it's standalone and on my home PC.I couldn't find any email to write to, or number to call, or FAQ, so here I am.
This is the third damned problem I've had with this file, might have something to do with a trojan on my computer chewing into my RAM but whatever the case it's time this crap stopped!
AutoDesk Smoke :: Will 2013 Support Component Output
Feb 26, 2013I'm currently running Smoke 2011 on a Mac Pro and we are feeding a Professional Grade 58" Panasonic Plasma equipped with HDMI and Component connections. We are unfortunately limited to using only the HDMI connection because Smoke 2011 doesn't support component out. Using the HDMI connection means we're limited to a 60Hz refresh rate which, generates flickering cross fades, and strobing with fast moving video. The component connections allow us to utilize a 100Hz refresh rate which eliminates these issues. After a little research, I have learned that Panasonic does not make a professional grade plasma monitor that supports higher than 60Hz through HDMI.

Jun 14, 2011When you PUBLISH to PDF, is there an option to not have the filename before each Layout tab? I get tired of renaming files when I'm doing a quick job that doesn't require use of the SSM. When I publish using the SSM it works fantastic but not if you simply initiate the PUBLISH dialog box via the command line.

I would like to modified the file with the following changes.
1. increase the left margin, now it seen to be 0.
2. add page breaks, it seem to be one long page.
3. add a header on each page (nu n e elev desc).
4. add page numbers.
5. have the client information fill-in using sheet set manager.

AutoCad 3D :: Cannot Change Output Size
Jun 28, 2011I am having a problem with output size when rendering. From Draft right through to presentation the output size is greyed out so I cannot change it. I've never had this problem before. Have I inadvertantly clicked on something which disables the output size?

Apr 12, 2012I'm having a plotting issue with one of my drawings. It's not showing up on plot preview, or even when I print it.
Any other drawing I create under the same Page Setup print fine. The paper and viewport have been have been set up for a standard 8x11, and drawing appears in as normal in the viewport. The layers are ok with no attributes (i.e transparency) set as to affect the print output. The printer drivers are up to date, and really doesnt make sense as any drawings I create under the exact settings show up normally and print out with no problem. Really don't want to recreate the drawing from scratch.

Mar 5, 2012I cannot output STL files in any other unit except cm. I try changing it in the options when "saving copy as" but it doesn't stick and reverts back to cm. The online RP quoting service I use doesn't accept cm only inch and mm.

Oct 26, 2012I need to export a DTM for use in another package which I previously did by Extracting the Triangles, Selecting the 3D faces & Wblocking to DXF for import to the other package.
The developers of the other package have introduced an XML import which I have been trying out but when the surface is imported into the other package via XML most (but not all) of the triangles honour the original 3D faces.
The question is therefore: Does the XML output contain sufficient information to allow the other package to "join the dots" in the correct way so as to mirror the original 3D faces and thus create an exact copy of the DTM??
