View 1 Replies View RelatedMicrosoft OLE doesn't seem to work flawlessly in CorelDRAW:
Create a new CorelDRAW file
Select menu item "Edit > Insert New Object ..."
Select "Microsoft Excel Worksheet" from the dialog box. This creates an Excel Worksheet within the CorelDRAW file.
Edit the Excel Worksheet to contain some text in the Worksheet's cells.
Alter the font for some of the cells.
Select menu item "File > Publish to PDF ..."
You will notice that in the PDF file the text is all rubbish:
I have added a CorelDRAW X6 file to this post. Unfortunately this forum doesn't allow for file attachments being bigger than 256k. So I had to upload the CorelDRAW file as an "image" by renaming its file extension. ... Please right-click on above image to download the CorelDRAW file and delete the ".png" file extension from the name in order to download the CorelDRAW file correctly. The correct file name should be "CorelExcelImport.cdr" on your hard disk.

I am a relatively new user of Corel Draw. When using the variable data print feature, the images seen in the print preview look correct, but when the page is printed the same data is output in all 4 images. This does not happen every time. I suspect there is something going wrong with the print merge data buffer. I have not been able to reproduce the error. I have created a detailed script to for others to follow when running this job.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI know that the xmls are very important in the design data folder and we shouldn't mess with them. What about the rest of the folders. I have around 11 folders. GOST, AEC Exchange, AIT, Cable & Harness, Bend Tables, DWG-DXF etc...
I need to know if any of these folders can be deleted? We don't use AEC Exchange, Cable Harness, BIm Exchange, Design Accelerator, Tube & Pipe.
What about the Optimisation, DXF-DWG. I am not sure if I am using them unknowingly.Does this could be deleted? Is there a procedure to get rid of them.
I cannot output STL files in any other unit except cm. I try changing it in the options when "saving copy as" but it doesn't stick and reverts back to cm. The online RP quoting service I use doesn't accept cm only inch and mm.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to increase DPI for image output besides rendering in Studio?
When I save as image file I get option for size, of course, but no option for DPI.
I have a macro to create DXF files for all sheet metal parts in an assembly. What I now want to add is 2 functions :-
Move the DXF output to be in the 1st (positive) quadrant so that the left most entity is touches with the Y axis and the bottom most entity touches with the X axis,Add iProperties like Part Number, Material, Thickness and Qty as text to the DXF file.
Any takers?

how to get line weights defined through Inventor? After printing or output to PDF I can barely read the dimensions. Is this with the drawing setup? or with the printers?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow Solidworks has the ability to output G-code to machine parts without the use of a seperate CAM software.
If Inventor has the ability to do this with some sort of add on? Or even if Autodesk offers a program that does this that would work well with Inventor or if I must use a seperate CAM software to do it. I have used Mastercam in the past but wasn't sure if there was an easier way to do so.
When I render a PNG image with Studio there are speckles all over it as in the attached sample.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a stand alone user and my current task needs a sea bed surface for placing our plants in my Inventor model so that the boss can have a 'realistic view on the site. Nothing fancy, just a surface. Since I am a mechanical draftsman and have no previous experience with GIS data, so I turned to my local software supplier. It went all “OK’ until the last step: bringing the surface file (see 59905_1) to Inventor (see 59905_5). It seems the importing is successful, just no surface shown. Here is what we have done:
Use Autocad civil 3d to create a surface from GIS data.Save the surface file to Autocad 2007 format.Import it to inventor 2012. I have to say the site area is about 1000m x 200m in measurement.
I have a master shape file that contains parcel ID, owner, tax info., etc. I have another file ( access 2003 -open to better file format suggestions-) which contains parcel ID and a "yes" or " no" entry for whether or not the parcel needs a new water meter. All I want to do is add the water meter information into the other shape file. This would create one shape file with one table with all the information that I need.
Ultimately I will use the information to do a map query and find out spatially where i need new water meters.
Right now i have the master shape file connected though the “Connect to Data” feature. I also have the new data added to the drawing though the Data sources------>attach under the “Map Explorer” Task pane. I attached access file (ver. 2003 .mdb) which has two columns “Parcel ID” and “Meter”.
I right click on the shape file under the display manager and select”Create a Join;” however my water meter table is not listed as an option. Will this not work?
Plan B - I tried to Create and connect to the access file as an ODBC connection. Followed this guy’s directions to a T [URL]. But when i populate my table under the fdo connection the column headings exist ( “parcel ID” and “Meter”) but the actual data is missing. Am I missing something important?
Note: I am running c3d 2012 on a Win 7 64 Bit machine. I also removed office 32 bit apps and installed 64 bit apps to see if that would solve the problem. No go.
say you make some parcels in your project with custom data fields like: id_no, permit_no, acres_served etc. you attach an agency provided shape file via an fdo connection that has many fields of information like above.
when you right click on your parcel and do parcel properties you get a tab that lets you input the custom parcel data.
lets say you print an fdo map label showing, say, the id_no, provided in the shape file. Then in your custom parcel properties for id_no you type that in.
is there a way to make an expression to put in the other custom parcel properties that will read, say, the permit_no(id_no) from the fdo like and put that information in the custom parcel property field?
I'm having problems getting super elevation data to transfer to different drawings by means of an alignment data shortcut. I know alignments hold the super elevation data so I've gone into my alignments data shortcut, input my super elevation data, saved and closed. Now when I open my finished grade drawing, reference in my alignment and profiles, then create a corridor from that information, my super elevation didn't transfer with the reference.
I pulled cross sections and it appears is has no clue there is any super elevation data. Also, I tried bringing it directly into the drawing I'm doing my corridors in and it erred saying I must be in the parent alignment drawing. Data shortcuts are pretty much useless to me if super elevation data doesn't transfer.

I am trying to link my extracted data from blocks with attributes to an extenal source so that the table I create and place into the drawing already has the formulas I need to due the required calculations. But every time I create and place the table the formulas are not in the table. I include the columes that contain the data but it doesn't seem to be working.

Is it possible to embedd data in a table so that a user can select from a group of data within one cell?
I use this technique quite often in Excel. One cell in a table can have various values: A, B, C, or D. While another cell can have a different set of values to choose from: BLUE, RED, ORANGE, or PURPLE. The user can pull down an arrow (similar to a dynamic block) and choose from a set list of values.
We frequently will create a new part and drawing based on an existing drawing to save time recreating views and re-dimensioning the entire drawing. This is done by using Design Assistant to copy the idw and ipt file to a new name.
The only problem we have experienced with this workflow is that the revision history for the old drawing is maintained in the new file, and there doesnt seem to be a way to reset it. This also causes us a problem if a drawing needs to be changed from numeric to letter indication of revision level.
Any way to reset the revision history so that a new table can be started from scratch?
I´m having a couple of problems with getting data correctly from an Excel Sheet. I´m using the Excel Sheet to get Data for the Stock Number based on geometry.
First time the Excel File get´s opened it always cannot find the first sheet. I´m using a german Version and Sheet1 is Tabelle1 in german.
It always searches for sheet1 the first time the script runs on a new derived assembly. The second time (on second part) it correctly finds Tabelle1 and reads the correct value. Here is the code I´m using:
[code]
myXLS = "K:IdentNr.xls"
GoExcel.Open(myXLS)
i = GoExcel.FindRow(myXLS, "Tabelle1", "Stärke", "=", Stärke, "Material", "=", iProperties.Material)
IdentNr = GoExcel.CurrentRowValue("IdentNr")
iProperties.Value("Custom", "IdentNr") = IdentNr
[code]
And there is another issue which I have solved already but still gives me a bit of a headache. When the userdefined property IdentNr gets written into the part it always defaults to a numerical value, which means that I always get a comma at the end of the Stock Number.
Only when I define IdentNr like this:
Dim IdentNr As String
the format is correctly set to Text.I expected that when you read a value from an Excel Cell that the Format of the Cell gives the format of the user defined property. Is that not correct?
I can't follow the sample code when using c#
object selected; selected = oApp.ActiveDocument.SelectSet[1]; Inventor.ComponentOccurrence oOcc; oOcc = (Inventor.ComponentOccurrence)selected; Inventor.NativeBrowserNodeDefinition oNativeBrowserNodeDef; oNativeBrowserNodeDef = oApp.ActiveDocument.BrowserPanes.GetNativeBrowserNodeDefinition(oOcc); Inventor.BrowserNode oTopNode; oTopNode = oApp.ActiveDocument.BrowserPanes.ActivePane.TopNode; Inventor.BrowserNode oOccNode; oOccNode=oTopNode.AllReferencedNodes(....?
The sample code uses
Set oWorkPlaneNode = oTopBrowserNode.AllReferencedNodes(oNativeBrowserNodeDef).
In c# (and API-Help) it is AllReferencedNodes(Inventor.Browserdefinition Definition)
How to obtain the browser node definition?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe only thing that has changed since Friday is the install of SP1. I use the old dialog boxes instead of the mini-toolbars (don't get me wound up). I just noticed yesterday some strange behavior when I change the value in the dialog box.
In the example in the attached screenshots, I started the fillet command and selected edges. The default fillet was ".3" and I want to change to ".4375". As you can see in the image, at one point while typing, Inventor decided to highlight the entry again, and as you see overwrote the ".4" with "375".
I'm checking other dialog boxes now but so far all I know is the fillet dialog box. Also does it on the value of a variable fillet too.

I have a program that populates an access database with part parameters. Each Inventor part can look up its own parameter values from the database when supplied with a single parameter, the ID number of the database record. The ID number is derived from a blank part that the program also updates. So in a nut shell, the program populates the blank part's parameters with all database ID numbers that would make up entire assembly. Those parameter values are derived to all the parts in an assembly. This is by far the fastest most efficient way I've found to rapidly generate an entire assembly. In a matter of seconds I can have a new 1000+ part assembly.
The rumor that Inventor will eventually sever ties with VBA has put this whole process in jeopardy. So I have been looking into using iLogic to perform the same task of looking up the data from Access. I know that iLogic has Excel functions built into it, but because the original program is Access based (changes this is not an option) any way to use iLogic to retrieve data from Access.
I have a little over 100 materials created that I need to add to my design data materials master and to avoid having to go into styles managaer and hand type them all over again is there a way to add materials through something like excel or edit the materials list through excel?

I was working on a machine today and an error came up Access violation-no RTTI data! I have never seen this before and now no matter what assembly in any project I open the software is having a lot of problems. When it open the main assembly I cannot open a part or an assembly in the main assembly. I have tried to get support on my subscription but it just sits there and says processing. I am down and cannot afford to sit here.

Is that possible to read colored faces, merged them by color, read the total surface area and then export into Excel. That is for estimating purposes. I read the thread "Extracting Surface Finish Data" but I didn't find the piece of code that I need.
