I am getting these white lines around my aerials that are turning black when i print them to PDF. I need my graphics guy to turn it into an exibit but these lines are getting in the way.
View 7 RepliesI recently changed jobs and my employer did not purchase AutoCAD 2013 Civil 3D instead they only purchased AutoCAD 2013 (plain). I have to work with aerial and I recived all of our county areals which are on a state plain coordinate system. However when I bring the aerials into AutoCAD 2013 via the "ImageAttach" command the aerals come in at 0,0 and just pile up on each other and they are not to the correct scale. I could just move the aerials and try to rescale them and attach them at the corners but the areals are overlapped so this chore is not very acurate lining them up. I said all this to ask..........Is there a way to insert aerials (tif files) into AutoCAD 2013 (plain edition) so that they come in in the correct coordinate location and the correct scale? I know in AutoCAD Civil 3D you could go to the Map module and insert the aerials and they would come in in the right geodetic location. And incase you need to know, the directory I have the aerials stored in has the "tif" , "aux", and the "tfw" files.

Our company plotted some PDFs using Publish, DWG to PDF and all the text came out fine but when our customer views the text in Bluebeam some of it is replaced by little white squares. It also prints out on their end with the little squares.

While drafting floor plans; lines, fillet, Radius, Snap lines, there are small white boxes showing there is an angle or radius. They are getting in the way of drafting, slowing down my program and genuinely annoying. Do you know how to prevent them from appearing? Also, and I believe related, there are blue boxes appearing on all my right angles for reasons beyond me. How can I also prevent these from appearing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting these white "ghost" boxes with every copy, move or mirror command. They can be individually deleted but that takes too long. The more there are the slower each command takes, to the point a copy can take over a minute. If I save and close then when I reopen they are gone -- until I execute a command. This is unique to a single file I recieved from a friend using a PC based Autocad; I use Autocad for Mac. I had no trouble with his file until I did a "Save As" and used it as a base for a new file. Now, every file that is a copy of it, even any file in which I x-ref it, has the same problem. All of my original, older files are fine. There is simply too much work in these (now) five files to start over. See attached.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem with white boxes appearing in my drawing only when I go to print. I searched this problem before and found a solution but of course can't remember what it was and can't seem to find the solution again. Wished I'd saved the url. From what I remember, it was something to do with bitmap effects. For me the boxes are appearing where I have guassian blurs for others it's drop shadows. I know I can convert the whole drawing to bitmap but that changes the look of my graphic slightly and don't want to do that.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been using [URL] to download aerial images and then insert them into my drawing using mapiinsert. Usually they come in perfect, but sometimes they come in way off. In this case I downloaded image it came in way off. Then i used project base jump and in came in where it should, but the quality is not good enough for what i am trying to determine. so i downloaded an image from [URL]inserted it using mapiinsert. It came in once again way off, but i noticed it came in where the other image did. What am i missing. I do not fully understand how these images choose where they land. I understand there is a world file that gives them xy coordinates, but that is the end of my knowledge.

I am having an issue with some product renderings I am doing. 3DS Max seems to be placing random (sometimes not random) white boxes in my renderings like missing info. I can reboot Max and they will shift the next time I render. The models are fairly simple polys with a PS Layered .
System: Windows 7 64, 12GB Ram, ATI Fire Pro v7800, Intel Xeon X5355 @ 2.66GHz
For whatever reason, working with MrSids aerials with Civil 3D 2012 & 2013 is really slow these days. Three of us CAD techs have Dell Precision T3500 PC's with 24 GB of RAM with Windows 7. I worked with the same aerials 4 years ago using ust 4 GB of RAM with Windows XP. Is there a better type of aerial technology to work with rather than the MrSid aerials? Should we try to get the County to purchase another type of aerial technology to more easily depict the County so we can more quickly produce aerial roadways with stationed alignments..

When you click on them in paperspace, it bring you into model space, and when you click on detail it opens up, but cannot expand viewport., you can't delete it. View 8 Replies View RelatedI lost my dialog boxes for SAVEAS and EXPORT. I tried the CMDDIA system variable but had no luck. I can't stand having to type in full paths for files that I'm trying to save.
I would imagine that alot of my other dialog boxes default back to command line as well.
I am using a pdf underlay to trace over and whenever the crosshair or pickbox enters a white area it does not shift color to black to remain visible. This leaves me picking randomly trying to guess where the crosshair or pickbox is. If I change the 3dconfig to disable hardware acceleration, the color shifts, but the pdf is whited out. Not to mention the fact that by disabling hardware acceleration, I'm wasting the expensive video card on the machine. Is there a workaround? updated driver? service pack?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been running dual monitors (22" and a 18") for a while, but I just upgraded to a larger second monitor (now both 22"). Before, I left AutoCAD running in the main monitor, but now I've switched it to run in the second monitor instead. Now AutoCAD will not remember the position or size of the Open and Save dialog boxes while it is in the second monitor. Sometimes it throws them back into the main monitor and other times they show up in the second but without the resize I did previously.

These .dcl files were created a few years ago, but they displayed cyrillic characters correctly in all previous versions 2012 including. Now I see some strange symbols and the autolisp routine is useless!

Can add selection boxes or pick boxes to a block?
Here's the situation. I have a block that will be inserted showing a piece of angle iron that is used for a stiffener. We have various sizes that will need to be used. Instead of typing in the angle size each time it's inserted can I have a list of all the angle sizes and then a pick box or radial dial or something to be selected and that is what is put in the block?
Can I get the old dialog boxes back in 2013 design with Windows 8?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter an AutoCAD/Windows crash, I reboot. The system begins to load Windows (Win 7 splash), then the screen goes blank and a white Windows cursor appears -- nothing more; no desktop or taskbar.
Control-Alt-Del does nothing, however, the HDD light continues to flash as if it is continuing to boot. The same thing happens when I boot in Safe Mode (except cursor is larger due to different resolution).
I can boot from bootable CD and everything works fine. HDD scan and memtest both pass. I formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows and AutoCAD and everything works fine. However, two days later, the same exact problem occurred on the second of five workstations.

AutoCAD 2013 was originally loaded from a trial version, then purchased license key installed.We are using Xref on a file server and opening drawing on a file server across a ethernet Gbit lan.
My problem is that all of my dimensions and text have changed colour to white, with my by layer colour as an outline of the text, the arrows and lines still look correct however. I put the dimensions on a seperate layer and this seemed to happen after hiding this layer then later unhiding it. I have looked through the properties to change the colour unsuccessfully.
On another note, the monochrome print option does not work when creating a plot - it will still create it in colour. What can I do to sort these issues? It is fustrating as all I really need to do with this drawing is to export the it for a report and it looks messy!
Is there any way to change the text color in the "Select File" form from the default of white to black?

Max 2012 works well on my HP 6910p computer with Win 7 64bit BUT Max 2013 does not show anything in the viewports ... installed it on a 'fresh' Win installation..
I would like to draw parts in 3d view which look very basic, i.e. out of a book.
Example:
white block with black lines so you can see it is 3d.background should also be white.
How do i set autocad (2012/2013) to do this. I would like the model space to be the same and not just for printing.
Im drawing a simple warehouse with a circular glas-facade, and i am using boxes for everything. Now, i want to cut the roof-boxes so that they fit with the circular wall..I've tried subtract, intersect, slice but nothing gets it right.
