AutoCAD 2013 :: Thumbnail Preview Not Showing Up In File Open Dialog Box
Aug 14, 2013When I click on File>Open The dialog box no longer has a thumnail preview. Only a small grey box hovering on the right that says "Initial View" with a check box. I have attached a snapshot of my Autocad File> open dialog box so you can see what I'm getting on my end.
If I browse for files in windows explorer and change view option to thumbnail I can see the thumbnails just fine.
I've tried everything but I cannot get back my File> Open thumbnail preview.
In Tools> Options I have the thumbnail preview settings all set to save thumbnail preview image. Nothing has changed that I know if for the thumbnail preview to go away.
It's really slowing me down not being able to have thumbnail preview in the file> open dialog box.
AutoCAD LT :: Decimal Is Showing Up In Wrong Spot For Alternative Units In Dimensions?
Nov 3, 2011I need to show feet and meters in my drawing. I got them to show up, however the decimal is in the wrong spot. Instead of it being 1.8288 meters for 6 ft., it's showing as 1828.8. Everything I read says to 'just move the decimal'. But how do I do that without overriding the actual dimension?

Sep 1, 2008This is probably a really stupid question, but several of my settings dialog boxes aren't showing up. I right click on the buttons at the bottom (at the moment snap and grid show this problem), click on the settings selection so I can modify them, then the autocad window looses windows focus (the bar at the top goes to the pale blue), and I can't do anything in autocad. I hit escape and it goes back to normal.
That looks to me like it is opening the settings window, and my focuse is being set to it, but I don't see it. How do I fix this? Can I reset dialog box starting locations (not like I know how it got moved to a crazy place in the first place, but still)?
How can I get my settings dialog boxes back?
AutoCAD 2013 :: MEP 2013 Open Dialog Pulldown Broken
Dec 28, 2012Autocad MEP 2013 was working fine until I installed SP1 yesterday.
Now when type in open the dialog comes up (not a filedia issue). When I click the "look in" pull-down in the open dialog it goes blank and I am unable to browse any folders. I've tried rebooting.. Should I reinstall?
AutoCAD Inventor :: CC Customized Family Table Not Showing Material In Place Dialog Box?
Nov 30, 2012I have recently modified the CC of a part family so that different materials for the same part can be chosen. When I exit the editor and place the component I can see the choice of the materials in the dialog box - no problems (See 1st attachment" But when I go to another users PC they cannot see any of the new materials in the "Place content center" dialog box!?!
For information, we are running Inv. 2011 with Vault Professional 2012
The CC libraries are stored on the server and we have one custom library to which I have publish the modified part family.
The custom CC has been fully synchronised with the Vault server.
The materials.xml containing the new materials used in the part family has been downloaded to the users local workspace.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Dimension Primary Units
Apr 9, 2013We are having an issue with Dimensioning and the Primary Units not maintaining the correct value. We use metric so the multiplier of 25.4 or .039370079 for Dim Scale Linear would be used in our Dimension Styles depending on if we are drawing in model space or annotating in paper space. We have created specific Dim Styles for Model and Paper space. Every so often some of us will us the Dim Style for paper space and a metric unit would be shown. When we go into the properties of that dimension and change the Dim Scale Linear to 1 it shows as a different dimension then it actually is. After looking at the correct dimenion, we noticed the Dim Scale Linear shows .9449 but gives the correct dimension.
Note: We are drawing in Metric a multiplier of 25.4, our dimensions are done in english. A scale factor of .039370079 is used to accomplish this.
There is a simple fix with Match Properties but it still doesn't answer why our dimension show up wrong with a different multiplier for Dim Scale Linear.

Feb 7, 2013Using AutoCAD 2013, I have set my the placement of the alternate units to "Below primary value" (in Dimension Style), but they do not go underneath, they remain after the primary units. I tested in 2012, and it works fine there but not in 2013.

Oct 26, 2012We need to xref a drawing with a different unit. When I go into the drawing file I want to xref and use the "-DWGUNITS" command I change it from feet to inches and use Architectural. Answer yes to all questions and certain objects disappear. Most of the objects are pline or spline objects. Here is what I see in the AutoCAD Text Window:

AutoCad 2D :: Use Paper Space Units For Scaling In 2013
Feb 11, 2013I have just upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to 2013 so I'm unfamiliar with the latest set up & dont' have time to explore it properly yet. I see that 2013 has a different projection method for paper space views but for the present I am still using solview & soldraw which I am familiar with to get my work done on time.
In 2008 the 'Linetype manager' page let you tick a box 'Use paper space units for scaling' so that different paper space view ports would automatically scale line types to suit the viewport scale. To draw details of parts of a view I would normally copy the basic solview view port, alter its property to a layer named VPORT, scale this viewport to the desired scale to show what I want to detail & the linetypes would automatically scale so that they appear the same as in the original solview view port.
This pick box is not in the linetype manager page in 2013, how can I achieve this?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Changing Units Doesn't Save
Nov 30, 2012I've noticed an anomoly when working with XREF's and changing units. With the company that I work, we receive client drawings, XREF them in, and put our drawings on top of them. For this particular project, we have about 150 drawings that we are working with. The biggest problem is the drawings we receive are in various units, and we draw in millimeters. So when we go to XATTACH, we have to make sure the XREF drawing's units are set to mm, although most of them are not. So we navigate to the XREF drawing, open it, open the UNITS window, change it to millimeters, accept, save, and close the drawing. However, when we go back into the actual drawing to XATTACH again, the unit change in the XREF has not taken effect. Reopening the drawing and launching UNITS will show that, indeed, the unit change was not saved. Doing it a second time will take effect, but why do we have to do this dance in the first place?
This problem occurs about 50% of the time. I can't seem to find a pattern with it. If I make a change to the XREF drawing itself as well as changing the units (like moving the pan or zoom), but to no avail.

AutoCAD 2013 :: User Created Blocks Changing Units?
Sep 26, 2012Our office created a library of blocks for use in our dwgs in the early days of Autocad. Since installing MEP2013 when inserting the blocks many of them have mysteriously changed from inches to millimeter units. We have to go back to each block(dwg) and change the units and rescale the blocks. We upgraded from MEP2012 and they were working fine.

Jun 10, 2012I can get the leading zeros in the architectural dim style. My problem is I cant seem to get the leading zero in the parts list format. If I edit the parts list, then format column, there is no option to include leading zeros like in the dim styles.
We could format the parts list with the leading zero before....This is in 2013, BTW..

Lightroom :: V5 Import Dialog Box Not Showing Previews
Jun 10, 2013I just installed Lightroom 5 and the import dialog box is not showing the previews of the images. Without the previews, there are no images to select for importing. It doesn't matter if they are JPG or CR2 and if I try to import from the camera card or hard drive. Version 4.4 also failed at first but after hacking away, I finally got the older version to work.
I am using Lightroom 5, Windows 7 64 bit.

Rather than changing units in command UNITS Inches and Architectural, and SCALE 25.4, is there any other way to switch metric to imperial systems. Scaling somewhat does the trick but, provided dimensions remain in mm.
Photoshop :: Printer Profiles Not Showing In Print Dialog?
Dec 29, 2012I cannot seem to see the custom Printer Profiles I have for certain papersin the Print Dialog.I have added the Print Profiles to Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Profiles (and also in Recommended)
But in the Print Dialog under Colour Management > Photoshop Handles Colour > Print Profile - they are not showing. I have done things like restarting Photoshop and converting the image to CMYK from RGB.
I can see the profiles in the Proofing menu and am able to select them.without using the profiles my colour management is completely off kilter.Also, can I confirm that I am putting the printer profiles in the correct folder?
Lightroom :: List Of Recent Catalogs Not Showing In Dialog At Launch?
Dec 2, 2011I have a friend using Lightroom 3 on a Windows 7 PC. She uses multiple catalogs. (one for each client) as do I. Now when she launches LR the list of recent catalogs is empty. Could this be cleared some where? Why do they not show up and will they start showing up again after she opens different catalogs?
