Most individual want to remove the Proxy Information Dialog Box. I already understand how to turn this off PROXYSHOW/PROXYNOTICE/PROXYGRAPHICS. What I'd like to know is where the data that is displayed in the Proxy Information Dialog Box comes from? Is there a way to get this information after the fact (as in, after I've closed the dialog box, but while the current drawing is open)?
We just moved the Autocad LT installation for one of our users to a new computer and now when opening certain documents, we get the below error. The error didn't originally occur on the old machine, but after re-installing it on that machine, we get it there too. Is there a way to clear the error or find out which plugin we are missing? We have tried installing the plugins on the autodesk website, but weren't able to fix the error.
System information:
Autocad LT 2011
New machine OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)
Old machine OS: Windows XP (32-bit)
Error message:
Proxy Information
The drawing you have opened or referenced contains custom object created by an unavailable ObjcectARX application. You do not need the original application to display proxy representations of objects that were saved in the drawing. However, many manufacturers, including Autodesk, provide object enablers that also allow you to edit these custom objects.
Visit the AutoCad LT Object Enabler Assistant web page to locate Autodesk object enablers or contact the software publisher about object enablers for other applications.
Note: If your computer has internet access, verify that Check Web for Live Enablers is selected in the Options dialog box on the System tab to have AutoCAD LT automatically search for the Live Enabler website for the appropriate object enabler.
Missing Application: CAPxCAPDesignerDBX Total number of Proxies: 230 Number of objects (no graphics): 230 Number of entities with no graphics: 0 Number of entities with bounding box graphics:0 Number of entities with real graphics metafile:0
When i start up AutoCAD C3D 12, this dialog box is pop up " This drawing was created with a newer version of Civil 3D. All entities created by Civil 3D within the drawing are in a proxy state..............are disabled for this drawing." I just started an AutoCAD, Not open any drawing yet!
How do i turn this message off? (permanently)
P.S. It just happened recently since the IT guy changed some variables on my machine, but no clue what variables he changed?
We have a proxy server on the network which only allows certain websites to be accessed. Recently I have found with CAD 2013 that a lot of the content inside the application actually depends on the user having internet access. Is there a list of addresses you can send me which I can unblock on our firewall?
Mediastudio 5 pro ultimate Win7 64 AMD 960T on six cores Asus M5A78L M LX + 8 GB HD 3000 integrated graphics OS is installed on a 128 MB SSD Project target file is on a 500GB WD Blue.
I have ripped a Blue Ray DVD as an .m2t, at an average bit rate of about 18.5 Mb/sec, with a resulting file size of over 16GB. Needles to say this file bogs the machine when not running the proxy. When I finish a session and close the program, the proxy file is gone the next time I open the project. The same thing happens when the machine goes to sleep with the project open. I have to either slog through working directly on the project without the proxy while it slowly rebuilds, or wait a couple of hours for the rebuild to complete.
Any way to stop the file from being deleted? I went to power options and selected never, but the next day it was gone again.
Another thing would be to increase the speed of the proxy creation, as it only uses about 20% of the CPU. Better to get it done faster... I have tried raising the priority of the process to high with little if any change.
I'm trying to render some passes in Maya 2013 and Mental Ray using proxy assemblies. The trouble is that none of the passes that do some kind of material definition override ie AO, camera depth work correctly with proxies. I have read a few posts where people have said that these passes need to be applied in the render globals when exporting the proxy file. This method works correctly in Maya 2009 and fixes the issues, unfortuently this method does not work in Maya 2013.
Autocad MEP 2013 was working fine until I installed SP1 yesterday.
Now when type in open the dialog comes up (not a filedia issue). When I click the "look in" pull-down in the open dialog it goes blank and I am unable to browse any folders. I've tried rebooting.. Should I reinstall?
Civil 3D 2014.I want to attach attribute information and/or metadata to my array. Is this possible?
If it is possible, I would also like to be able to explode my array and have my array items acquire the attribute information for exporting later. Can this be done as well?
When programming in Autolisp, I like to view the values set to my variables so you type an exclamation point followed by the variable name on the command line to have it display the value. My command line will not display the value. I have to hit the F2 key to bring up the text window to view it. how to get the command line to view this information? We have other computers that show it, but mine will not.
Is there any way to export a 3D dwf that includes layer information? In searching for an answer to this there were some responses that it really wasn't possible, however those were from previous versions of AutoCAD. I'm using 14 now. Is there any new functionality in 14 that allows this?
I wish to import from a TOPCON file. The points are from a GPS unit and are in standard form (easting, northing and elevation). I have been able in import the points into AutoCAD, and although they are in the correct location relative to each other, their geographical information has been altered (ie, the old coordinates are lost, and any measurements between points are now completely inaccurate).
I am working in metric units, and I think the problem may be that when I import the block, it comes in with 'block units' in inches. I cannot see how to change this. I also cannot select 'locate using geographical information' when I insert the block, which I think may be important in preserving geographical information.
In the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 project, I just created a parcel manually - see the first attched file. It had "Property : 1" on the original DWG, when I created.
I selected this parcel => Properties tab =>Information =>Style:Create/Edit=>Parcel Styleroperty=>Design=>Parcel name template=> Name Template/ Name: <[Parcel Style Name (CP)]>:<[Parcel Number]> was changed to SHC Lot: <[Parcel Number]> to get the new parcel name "SHC Lot : 1" on the DWG successfully - see the second attached file.
I tried to add some chemical results (23.5 mg/kg Arsenic; 66.7 mg/kg Lead; 88.9 mg/kg Mercury) into the parcel. So I selected this parcel => Properties tab => Information => Parcel Area Label Style: Create/Edit =>Parcel Name: => Layout / Label Style Composer/Component name: Parcel Name =>Text: Contents <[Name(CP)]>
I clicked on the "Arrow" sign to bring the <[Description]> into the right-hand-side of Text Component Editor - Contents. I don't know how to finish this step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab on the left-hand-side of the DWG (The selection of Parcel is still on). How to finish the last step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab.
In ACAD 2007 when I create a new UCS, the dialog box shows as current an unnamed UCS which I can then rename. In 2014, this doesn't happen - I have to do all that using the command line. Is there some setting to get the dialog box to work?
I'm running AutoCAD 2014 (part of AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2014), & it occasionally freezes on me. I haven't figured out how to reproduce it regularly yet, but it is somewhat predictable. When I run a list routine that opens a dialog box, if I press Escape immediately after the dialog box appears, AutoCAD quits responding & I have to force it to close with the task manager. It doesn't always happen, but it has become a semi-regular event. I've previously used AutoCAD 2010 Mechanical & AutoCAD 2012 (part of Structural Detailing 2012) before with the same routines on this machine with no issue.
Computer Specs:
Dell Inspiron 560
Windows 7 Professional x64
Pentium E6700 3.2 GHz

NVidia GeForce 8400GS
AutoCAD 2014 doesn't seem to be noticably more resource intensive than 2012 was, so I don't think that's my issue. I'm just trying to make a habit of saving more often & not accidentally running the wrong command.
I have a dual screen set up. I left work last night with no problems. I fired up my PC this morning and all of a sudden all of my dialog boxes appear on my second screen. I have disconnected the second screen and all the boxes return to normal. Plug the second screen back in and the dialog boxes go back to the second screen.
My AutoCAD (2013) don't shows the preview in open dialog. I read something about edit a value in Regedit, but I don't have access to Regedit. Has other way to fix it?
There is a way to change the text in a tag to include spaces without getting the error that tags cannot be null. I've forgotten how to do this. I can't find this in my AutoCAD manuals, or on-line.
I consider myself an advanced CAD user and much of the evolution that hapenned since I started using CAD-14. However, one of the most annoying features introduced in CAD 2010 is the 'disappearing' layer dialog box once you go to select a color. So you open the layer, create a new one, go to select a color just before you assign it a linetype, lineweigth and make it current, but as soon as you open the 'select color' dialog box and hover over it the layer window just goes. I know you can just make sure you do the color selection last, but what if you want to create three different layers and assign them a color ? you have to open the layer window 3 times and look for your layers...
I am using autocad 2013, and My properties dialog is blank. Pick-first is set to 1. I have completely repair, registry cleaned, but now this problem is continues.
I'm using Autocad 2013, and the Open File Dialog Box has disappeared. Every time I try to open a drawing, it defaults to the command line. I have the same error with Image Attach. It's only my user. Other Users on the computer do not have this issue. Settings to change it.
I lost my dialog boxes for SAVEAS and EXPORT. I tried the CMDDIA system variable but had no luck. I can't stand having to type in full paths for files that I'm trying to save.
I would imagine that alot of my other dialog boxes default back to command line as well.
I loaded autocad R2013 and went into the .cui dialog box to look for the screen menu section. It used to be under the legacy portion but it's no longer there. I've been looking all around to try and find where it's at.
When I insert a location in CAD2014, there is a dialog for me to chose the position, the default coordinate is WGS84, and of couse there is a list for options. but if there still have no system I need. how can I add the one into this list ?
