Is there any way to export a 3D dwf that includes layer information? In searching for an answer to this there were some responses that it really wasn't possible, however those were from previous versions of AutoCAD. I'm using 14 now. Is there any new functionality in 14 that allows this?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2 mile alignment of a railroad loop track and I am looking to generate a report that include both information at 50' increments and the curve data, i.e. PI, PT, so I can generate a staking report for the surveyors. I noticed that there are pre-canned reports that handle one or the other but not both.

The attached hatch includes grips inside it and thus as the lisp command “generate boundary from hatch multiple” is applied, more than one boundary is created

How to convert this sort of hatch to be uniform (without grips inside) so that the lisp command can create only one boundary for the hatch?

I have X5 SP1 and am trying to export in EPS. Regardless of what I choose in the export dialog (RGB or Grayscale) the resulting EPS file always has a CMYK profile embedded. As I need to submit it to a scietific journal for publishing that requires RGB or Grayscale
I already searched for any objects with CMYK fillings or contours - none. In File properties it only shows RGB and Grayscale objects.
I think I read X4 had a problem with EPS export, i. e. all vectors got converted to CMYK regardless of the export dialog choice. Is this still an issue in X5?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have done this many times in the past, but when I export a dwg (2007 format) to illustrator it opens fine, but it is slightly wrong in scale from the CAD version. I have no clue why this is happening. Also I know illustrator doesn't support CAD layers so everything comes in on one layer which is fine. In Illustrator I am having trouble separating the layer into multiple layers as everything is contained in a clip 'group' not sure what that is either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Engineer has a Hec-ras file that he has been working on and I need to change some of the sections. I don't want to re-export all of my sections to a .goe file and lose the work he has already carried out.
Is there any way of exporting the necessary sample line information into a CSV file, as I believe this will be the best way to make the changes to the hec-ras data without losing the work which has already been carried out.
I am working with a set of dynamic blocks, each with a block table that provides a drop down for the user to alter attributes from. My goal is to be able to update the block table using VBA to push data from an excel file. I do have import/export code that will update block attributes, but I am not sure the functions that would access the table properties.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Inventor 2012 and i need a macro (code): I want to know if it's possible to export all the information from the parameters list (everything, names, values, tolerances, comments...) to an excel spreadsheet or a txt file (it can be a table, or a CVS file, i just want that information!), from a part file (.ipt) or a drawing file (.dwg).
Currently, i can only export the parameters' names and values , but i can't get to the tolerance values and comments . . .
i need to export/retrive the Informations from "Space-Zone manager".
i can see the informations of surfaces and the openings in "Space/Zone manager", but no way to export or to extract them. the informations are also no "property set" information, which could be managed with schedules.
while importing attribute info back into a drawing, is there a way to tell it to skip a field? Say if I was working on a border block with attributes and some the the attributes were fine like the page number and description and I just want to change certain fields without disrupting others.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn C# I noticed that when I loop through the LayerTableRecords in the LayerTable some of the layers in the drawing do not show up. If I look at the layers in the UI it shows the missing layers with a grey icon for their status while the ones that it does detect have a blue icon for their status. The status has to do with which layers that the drawing believes are in use. In the UI you can press a refresh button and this will fix the problem. I want to know how I can fix this through the .NET API, COM API, or command line.

it's possible to export informations stated in "tailing note box" from all welding symbols? The reason why I'd like to do it...it's because each weld in the drawing has his own number and I'd like to be able to work with these weld numbers in MS excel. Most individual want to remove the Proxy Information Dialog Box. I already understand how to turn this off PROXYSHOW/PROXYNOTICE/PROXYGRAPHICS. What I'd like to know is where the data that is displayed in the Proxy Information Dialog Box comes from? Is there a way to get this information after the fact (as in, after I've closed the dialog box, but while the current drawing is open)?

My command line will not display the value. I have to hit the F2 key to bring up the text window to view it. how to get the command line to view this information? I wish to import from a TOPCON file. The points are from a GPS unit and are in standard form (easting, northing and elevation). I have been able in import the points into AutoCAD, and although they are in the correct location relative to each other, their geographical information has been altered (ie, the old coordinates are lost, and any measurements between points are now completely inaccurate).
I am working in metric units, and I think the problem may be that when I import the block, it comes in with 'block units' in inches. I cannot see how to change this. I also cannot select 'locate using geographical information' when I insert the block, which I think may be important in preserving geographical information.
It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.

I selected this parcel => Properties tab =>Information =>Style:Create/Edit=>Parcel Styleroperty=>Design=>Parcel name template=> Name Template/ Name: <[Parcel Style Name (CP)]>:<[Parcel Number]> was changed to SHC Lot: <[Parcel Number]> to get the new parcel name "SHC Lot : 1" on the DWG successfully - see the second attached file.
I tried to add some chemical results (23.5 mg/kg Arsenic; 66.7 mg/kg Lead; 88.9 mg/kg Mercury) into the parcel. So I selected this parcel => Properties tab => Information => Parcel Area Label Style: Create/Edit =>Parcel Name: => Layout / Label Style Composer/Component name: Parcel Name =>Text: Contents <[Name(CP)]>
I clicked on the "Arrow" sign to bring the <[Description]> into the right-hand-side of Text Component Editor - Contents. I don't know how to finish this step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab on the left-hand-side of the DWG (The selection of Parcel is still on). I am a AutoCad drafter for telecommunications and I have utility pole points (long/lats)
I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?
Can Revit export to Autodesk Maya and retain all the texture information?

Ive been racking my brain serveral times over and cannot figure out how to have the selected layer be renamed by its color information. Ive also tried to maybe build a new layer command into the current action I am using, but i keep having a dialog box pop up which interrupts the rest of the action.
Also, is there a way to automate an action according to a swatch. Meaning if I select a swatch can i have it perform the action and then move on to the next swatch in the list, or until the swatch list has been completed.
Iv applied a smart Filter on a layer that I have done a lot of masking work on. By applying this smart filter do I lose all my masking information? Is there a way of applying the two effects on the same layer?
