AutoCAD Architecture :: How To Export Information From Space-Zone Manager
Jul 17, 2011
i need to export/retrive the Informations from "Space-Zone manager".
i can see the informations of surfaces and the openings in "Space/Zone manager", but no way to export or to extract them. the informations are also no "property set" information, which could be managed with schedules.
As you can see, when I select the room tag (this is the room tag/w dimesions from the tags palette), it displays the correct name and other space objects values. However the tag itself is not reflecting the information - it displays the default values of STANDARD/LX W.
It appears to be properly linked to the PSD, but not updating.
I am delving into the world of Display Themes in autocad architecture for the first time. What I am trying to do is apply a display them to a viewport that colour all spaces according to the zone to which they are attached.
I have made a generic space which I have used for all rooms. I have attached those spaces to various zones (i.e. Accounting and Finance, Engineering, Facilities etc.)
I am now trying to create a display theme that will color each zone accordingly. I am trying to do this by setting each theme rule to be;
propertyset definition = zone, property = name, condition = equal to, value = Accounting and Finance (etc.), operator = and.
I do this and nothing happens to the spaces. I have tried experimenting with other property sets attached to the spaces and different properties (ie space base area etc) and it works fine. So i'm pretty sure its just a case of finding the correct zone property to work with.
after discovering zones and the space evaluation tool I wonder whether it is possible to customise the XLS output further by also reading out information from a property set attached to the space?
The office standard is to have a property set attached to each space that defines a room number (which is the level ID plus a number, say G-01), the area and the space name.
We used to simply schedule the areas with a schedule table. That only gives us net rooms, no subtotals per department (or say per flat) and no grandtotal. So we got as far as using zones grouping the spaces in each flat.
Now I need an area schedule XLT template that also displays the room number from the space's property set and the schedule grouped in a fashion that I get subtotals per flat (=my zones) in another column and a grandtotal.Playing with the Space evaluation tool I seem to only ever get Room/ zone names and their areas.
is there a way to COPY objects from model space to paper space? CHSPACE only "cuts" geometry. I need the same geometry stacked in both model space and paper space.
Im working on a student version of Architectural CAD 2012 i drew a floor plan and used AEC Dimensions on my model space but when i switch over to work space they don't show up. I tried matching properties and switching between paper and model but so far no luck.
Somehow the two tabs which were located at the bottom of the screen in my version of Autocad 2008 have dissapeared. I used them extensively and would like to get them back. I've tried the solutions provided in previous answers without success. The menus which are supposed to appear don't.
I have started to use Selection Set Manager for drawing previewing and publishing. I was moving drawings that are one to one to paper space to allow SSM usage but I recently found that my client does not want me moving drawings to paper space. He wants to keep his drawings in model space for one to one drawings (electrical schematics, one lines etc).
Drawings are set up with similar insertion points at 0,0,0.
Basement and 1st floor in scope of project. Drawings are xrefed into one another but they are overlay NOT attached.
Smart room spaces, room names, doors and door tags have been inserted into both plans for each room.
In the individual xref drawings, the door tag number coinsides with the room number as it should.
An automated door schedule has been produced and it works well. All room numbers are correct.
When xrefing the 1st floor and basement floor into the same sheet file for a CD document, the door tags on the basement doors, B101.1, B102.1, etc. are taking on the numbers of the first floor area just above it, 137.1, 137.2, etc.. This only occurs in the sheet file not the drawing base files.
When I unload xrefs of both the 1st and Basement drawings in the sheet file....save...close the drawing....reopen....then reload the basement xref only....the tags on the doors in question cannot find the correct number of the room. (message "space not found is displayed")
Then, when I reload the the 1st floor in the same sheet drawing and reload the basement floor again, the door numbers on the basement plan take the 100 series room number from the space above.
The Room name and number tag does not change in the xref, only the door tag.
When I detach both files from the sheet and xref the basement file only....the doors show up correctly. Then when I insert the 1st floor, the door numbers get screwed up again.
This has happened on another project in this office but in that situation 2 different floor plans were NOT inserted into one sheet. In that matter, we had to detach the xref and then load again in order for the door numbers to come out corrent.
After the drawing was saved, closed, and then reopened the door number were again wrong and picking up the door numbers from above or below.
Is this a bug in ACAD 2011? Is there a toggle switch somewhere that will fix the issue?
Using blocks established and populated while in 2008 ACAD. Does this matter?
I move the xref in the sheet file so they don't align. I have move them 500' away from one another. This did not solve my problem.
I am using some custom property set definitions to add information to spaces. However as I insert spaces I find that I have to go to the extra step to add the property set to the object using the Extended Data tab in the Properties Palette.
It is not a huge deal but sometimes it is forgotten and schedules are not reporting properly, or the display theme is not correct. Although there are tools to quickly add them I would like to know if there is an automatic way to add them while creating the spaces/zones.
On a related note. There is a property set definition that is in each file by default called RoomFinishObjects. Is there a way to purge this? I don't want to attach finishes to my objects. But it seems to be embedded in the file.
My Engineer has a Hec-ras file that he has been working on and I need to change some of the sections. I don't want to re-export all of my sections to a .goe file and lose the work he has already carried out.
Is there any way of exporting the necessary sample line information into a CSV file, as I believe this will be the best way to make the changes to the hec-ras data without losing the work which has already been carried out.
Is there any way to export a 3D dwf that includes layer information? In searching for an answer to this there were some responses that it really wasn't possible, however those were from previous versions of AutoCAD. I'm using 14 now. Is there any new functionality in 14 that allows this?
When I do a drawing I have about 20 different paper space tabs. I then use these tabs for floor plans, sections, details, elevations, etc.
I've tried to set up some sheet sets to use A1, A2, A3, and A10, these 4 pages go into one drawing set.
I setup a new sheet set to use A4, A5, A6, and A10, but the sheet set manager won't allow me to use A10 again because it was used already in a previous sheet set.
The sheet set manager works great for for printing all sheets into one set. But this shortcoming has forced me to use the publish command and save my sheets to .dsd files.
I am working with a set of dynamic blocks, each with a block table that provides a drop down for the user to alter attributes from. My goal is to be able to update the block table using VBA to push data from an excel file. I do have import/export code that will update block attributes, but I am not sure the functions that would access the table properties.
I'm currently using Inventor 2012 and i need a macro (code): I want to know if it's possible to export all the information from the parameters list (everything, names, values, tolerances, comments...) to an excel spreadsheet or a txt file (it can be a table, or a CVS file, i just want that information!), from a part file (.ipt) or a drawing file (.dwg).
Currently, i can only export the parameters' names and values , but i can't get to the tolerance values and comments . . .
while importing attribute info back into a drawing, is there a way to tell it to skip a field? Say if I was working on a border block with attributes and some the the attributes were fine like the page number and description and I just want to change certain fields without disrupting others.
In ACA 2012 there was a nice feature that did the following:
When you finished creating a new Sheet Set in the SSM, it would then immediately open the new Sheet Set in the SSM. (a few seats of ACA 2012 were in use in the office) In ACA2011, it didn't do this. You had to browse for the newly created .dst file to open it. (I was using ACA 2011 at the same time as those others were using ACA 2012).
Now we've all upgraded to ACA 2013 in the office. However, that nice little feature appears to be gone again. Any way to turn that back on in ACA 2013?
I am working in AutoCD 2013. When I try to change colors in my layer manager ( 1 or multiple) nothing happens. It seems like it just stops and never gives me an option to change the color. I can change all the other features in the layer manager except for the colors (color & plot style color).
I recently installed Building design suite premium and I am just getting around to getting it configured. I was trying to open up the detail component manager and have been looking for the default tool palletes for detailing and they are missing. In AEC content the path to the databases are there but I can't find where to access the detail component manager or tool palletes. I can't even find the tool catalog to bring them in that way. It says to look for the detail panel in the ribbon but guess what, I don't have that panel nor do I have the option to show it in the ribbon.
I have also searched for a command line command to open the manager and I couldnt find that either.
From time to time the layer properties manger Blanks out. See the attached image. The data is there, under the "fog" - I can view one item at a time by clicking on it.
CLASSICLAYER works in most situations, but it isn't a real fix. If I play with the layer manager long enough I get some degree of rehabilitation - as if it is really trying hard to open, but just can't manage it. The fields sometimes are blocked black, or certain areas of the fields become visible momentarily. If I scroll to the far right I can pick up some information.
I'd just like it to work properly.
I am running AutoCad Architecture 2012 on Windows 7 professional with NVIDIAGeForce GT 440 and dual screens, (however I keep all the autocad work on the same screen).
I am running ACA 2011 x64. Recently I have been unable to save a view drawing in the project manager. When I press the save button it a window pops up telling me it cannot save the drawing in my project folder and saves it as a .tmp file.
We are running ACA 2001 on WIndows Vista 64 bit. The Detail Component Manager will not open on (2) of our (7) machines and returns the error message: "Specified cast is not valid". The files are located on each machine. I have tried running a repair; I have copied the Detail Component Manger files over from the good machines, and I have also run a re-install and the Detail Component Manager still will not work.
it's possible to export informations stated in "tailing note box" from all welding symbols? The reason why I'd like to do it...it's because each weld in the drawing has his own number and I'd like to be able to work with these weld numbers in MS excel. It means I'd like to be able to export all the weld numbers and also to change these weld numbers in the drawing via MS excel.
My detail component manager in AutoCAD Architecture 2011 was working fine until I installed Revit 2013 on it (as part of Building Design Suite 2013). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS .Net framework, but it has not worked.
I'm working on a project incorporating field inspections into a Revit model. I have a model built, and I'm trying to export information regarding each structural element (family, type & instance, dimensions, etc) into an 'inspection sheet' (excel spreadsheet or text file). After the field inspection, my goal is to update the Revit model with inspection results. For example, damage to a beam might include a reduced cross sectional area/reduced moment of inertia.
The photo information isn’t shown anymore in the exported JPGs in the IPTC since LR4, but it still functions in the TIFF format. Is there a possibility to fix this error?I work with Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 - Lion - LR 5
Is there a possibility to export LR5 photos into grayscale?
After you you click on view normals to see them in the viewport, is there a way to export that information in some sort of text format that tells you the exact angle of each normal on a mesh? I need this information for the average normal information.
I want to wash my .jpg files through LR 5 in order to display the filenames. Via the Slideshow module I have been able to select and direct the displaying of the desired metadata option. When I export the files the displayed metadata information does not make the trip.
