The Plines that I am using on my drawing do not appear solid when I change to the required global width, all my system variable are set correctly however the lines are showing 'doubled'. How do I rectify this?

The problem is about drawing a solid model like the one in the attachment, and I have problem with the triangle, I tried a lot of things, but unfortunately it's not the same as it should be

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to create some plines in a drawing from the inputs provided by the client. I prepared a lisp code for it. I have to use it to 1000 drawings. Every time I open the drawing and running the lisp command.
Is any lisp code to run in bulk open drawings with out entering command prompt.
Currently I am using 2010 Map 3d, for water main base plans.
I use Micro Survey to process my field work. From there I open in Cad, import layers from our GIS data base for property, buildings, addresses, etc.
The only thing I have done different is from another project was copy and paste some utility layers.
Now my drawing turns any plines with width into hollow lines, and if align something my drawing will zoom to extents, also text mask does not work and i tried turning text to Mtext and it will not let me select yes for background mask.
All other drawings I check everything works fine.
I have several rectangles in a drawing which have the same dimensions, is it possible to perform a multi select of these items by specifying the lenghts of the rectangles ? I can't see a way of doing this under QSelect or Filter.

I have finally created the shell of the complex surface that you see. This is only a section of the part because I cannot show the whole thing for proprietary reasons. I formed solid surfaces using the network command. The propblem is that it will not convert to a solid because the surface seams are not "water tight." When the network command created the solid surfaces, the surface seams do not exactly match the lines so there are gaps in all the seams. I have tried blending, patching, etc. and nothing works. how to convert this to a solid without losing the outlines and the shape?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi am having a hatching issue, it seems no matter what hatch pattern i use and what hatch scale, alot of the hatch looks solid instead of the pattern i want, for example i am using currently ANSI37 @ Annotative with a scale of .20 and on the same paperspace page one plan with the hatch shows the cross hatching and the other one below looks solid (see attached) now i can go and say change the hatch scale and it reverts to the cross hatching, but then when i zoom out it goes back to "solid" is it a graphical issue?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a user who has been using certain solids for years with no problems but now having one.
These are simple flat object types "solid" objects that are simple direction arrows. If I print it from model space they are filled in. If I look at it and/or print it from paper space (in a viewport) it shows up only as an outline of the arrow.
FILLMODE is set to 1, have tried 0 also, doesn't change anything.
Then I need to extrude it, but when I extrude, it's shallow. So this 2D polygon need to have face. I've tried 3DFACE but then I need to add faces manually. Is there any way to just specify this polygon and have it faced?

I need to slice a cylinder with a surface but the slice command keeps giving error " Inconsistent face-body relationships".
I created the surface from a solid that I created using solid intercept between the cylinder and another solid that the cylinder actually passes through (a housing I have). In my attachment I do not include the housing, just the cylinder, the solid intercept and the surface from the a face of the solid intercept.
I tried increasing the U & V isolines of the surface, and scaling it up so that it isn't bounded by the cylinder, but that didn't work.
I'm willing to try any technique that achieves the same goal - I need the butt of the cylinder to contour to the housing so that I can do a JOIN and have a solid housing with a cylinder sticking out of its face. The inside of the housing is hollow with a 0.05 inch wall.

Everything works fine until the center of my cursor passes over a 3d solid, the cursor then disappears, the spinning circle icon spins for sometimes minutes, and the display greys over, and I cannot click 'ESC' or Ctrl + C to abort this cycling. I have to wait, sometimes 30 secs, sometimes 2 minutes for it to stop freezing and the screen returns to normal.
As I work in 3d solids a lot, this makes Acad 2013 unusable to me. Acad 2007 was not an issue with this problem I still have it installed as I have to revert back to 2007 to do anything with 3d solids in it.
I decided to try at making myself a 3d D20 in AutoCAD 2013 and have run into MANY problems. I have slowly chipped away at them, but I still have one issue, I am having issues turning my 20 regions (faces) into one solid.

I have never done any 3d modeling in autocad before it took me a few days just to get the wireframe of a staircase done! I have tried to render this object in viewport but it disappears after I click on it or move around, therefore I cannot see it in my paper layout. How do I make a rendered object stay? Also I want to plot this on 22x34in and 11x17in paper, how would I go about getting a high quality rendered image. I am using autocad 2010.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have these plines that keep appearing in my drawing that are not on a layer (see attached). I have never experienced this before. There are 10x duplicates stacked upon one another surrounding three separate shapes. My theory is that a hatch is creating them. I deleted them and they came back. How do I manage them and their display properties, or better yet, remove them from the drawing.

I have a part file that contain 7 separate solid. But in the drawing i want to show only 4 solids.
For this reason i put invisible command to other 3 solids in the part file . but in the drawing, i still see all the seven parts.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I modify a 3D solid and it is left with two seperate pieces it is still one solid piece, even though there are two parts. My question is: What if only need one of those two sides? If I explode the object and delete the one side I cannot change the remaining object into a 3D solid. It remains as surface object.
How can make an object into a 3D solid after exploding it? I belive there is a simple command like union or some other but I can't remember.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIf you can create a solid by lofting between two section, in this case they are 3d polylines, along a given path. The path is at the top of the sections. Using the loft command I have to key in the PO ( point ) option several times to get the path option to show then when I select the path it gets treated as another section. See attached.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn attempting to use either 'export face as' or 'export sketch as' from a solid model in Inventor 2013 the resultant DXF file ALWAYS consists of PolyLines. This prevents other "downstream" software from properly importing the file as a DXF. Thus far the ONLY work-around I have found is to open the DXF in AutoCAD, Explode the polylines, and then re-save as a DXF from AutoCAD.
