AutoCAD 2013 :: Pan And Zoom As Options In UNDO?
Nov 22, 2013In AutoCAD 2013/14, there is finally the option for removing Pan and Zoom from the UNDO list?
That would be like the invention of the wheel. For me it's a Buy/Don't buy option.

Is there a way to undo without zoom as part of the undo?

Is it possible to use undo in AutoCAD without zoom & pan?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to filter out zoom and pan operations so they're not included in the undo list?
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a way to not include zoom features in the undo command.
for instance, if i delete something and than zoom out, i have to undo multiple times to complete the undo delete.
I want to completely eliminate zoom featues from the undo command.
I am using Civil 3D 2013, Windows 7 x64.
Intellizoom does not seem to work properly on certain drawings, where if I undo... nothing happens. Rather, it tries to undo *each* click of my scroll wheel, without doing anything. This results in dozens and hundreds of undo commands, most of which are totally useless. This of course breaks my undo command, rendering it almost pointless. If I make a change, zoom out and decide that the change is not needed, I cannot easily undo; I have to undo something like 50 "commands" that do nothing, before I get to the "real" undo that I wanted to undo in the first place.
I understand there is the "Combine zoom and pan commands"; this is checked off. It does not seem to do anything. How do I make my undo command useful again? As a keyboard user, I want to use ctrl-z for my undos. I do not want to go to the undo button, pull down the menu, and search trhough the 50 commands to find the correct command to undo to, especially since I never had this problem before in previous versions of Civil 3D.
Some additional information:
1. I can open some other drawings that get the correct undo/zoom behaviour.
2. I can open the drawing I have problems with using a previous version of Civil 3d (2012), and get the correct undo/zoom behaviour.
My keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?
Is it possible to have the zoom options stay visible within the Corel Draw X5 interface, perhaps as clickable options in a toolbar ?
I would like to always see the zoom options as I use them frequently.
I'm currently running AutoCAD Electrical 2013 and every time I open a new drawing my undo is automatically disabled. Sometimes even changing from sheet to sheet in a project will result in my undo command being disabled. When I use the UNDOCTL command I seem to default to 48 and when I use UNDO to re-enable it I select the "All" option which gives me a 53 back for UNDOCTL, meaning that undo has been re-enabled.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince AutoCAD preserves the entire database list of commands used on a drawing from the beginning, is it possible to "back up," like using undo, after a drawing is saved and closed? Is there a way to come back the next day and start undoing the previous day's work?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI like to use non-default zoom options like 35% and 75%, but I can't use them both at the same time, and whichever one I'm using disappears every time I open a new image or restart the program. It would be nice if the zoom was controlled by a vertical slider that can go to any number between 1 and 800, or at least 1-100.

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack. In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location. If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.
Tested on AutoCAD 2010 VS 2008

Sub testmult()
Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To 10
Call testdraw()
Next

Say I have a model and some layouts in a file.
I open the file to the model. My RAM usage is about 33%. Next, I open the first layout and my usage climbs to 43%. I open the second layout and my usage climbs to 52%. I open the third layout and my usage climbs to 62%.
I can go back and view the layouts already opened marginally faster then when first opening them, and my RAM usage will not increase.
If I continue to open new layouts, my computer will spend all its RAM holding these and freeze. My computer will suspend graphical processing and be forced to run on sips of RAM until all active commands are finished. But RAM usage will never decrease.
I have been working with my Windows Task Manager open in the corner, watching this happen. This way, I can save and close the file to clear the RAM and then proceed to reload the file and continue working on my file with 34 layouts.
I do not know if it is a function of storing the UNDO functions, or just how the program is designed, but this is a problem for me.
QUESTION
Is there a way to clear the UNDO or layout memory without closing and reloading the file? I do not have to close AutoCAD - just the file.
ATTACHEMENT
The attachement is a screenshot of my Task Manager.
I started with TM, browser, and AutoCAD open (I had already started writing this post)
I opened the file to the model.
Opened up 6 layouts (you can see the bumps)
Saved (you can see the tiny rise)
Closed the file, but not AutoCAD (precipitous drop ;] )
Lastly, I reloaded the file.

I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..
So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
I've installed 3ds Max Design 2013.
I don't like small undo/redo window in quick access toolbar. So I always use 'max2009' style toolbar in UI customization.
but in 2013version, there are all dropdown icons are broken
So I changed to Default UI and changed again just color to 2009 style color.
but I cannot roll back this undo/redo step window to 2009 style.
I tried add 'undo scene operation' but it doesn't shows step windows.
I have been having several problems with AutoCAD 2014.
1) When I make a line-I used to be able to type in the start point, angle, length, and end point. Now I make a line I don’t have that option. Furthermore I hover the muse over line and try to make an extension of for example 3.5" from the start point after I hit enter it will put the start point at what i think is a random point of the screen. How can get the options back.
2) When i press-pull an object-When i would press-pull an object i would (with my mouse) drag it in the direction that wanted it to go hen type in the length. So if i were to pull it to the right then type in the number it would go to the right. How can change that
Is it possible to find and zoom to text without switching back to the model space.
ie I am in a viewport in paperspace and i want to find text which resides in model space. I want to zoom to that text in the currently active viewport and not switch to its location in model space.
I have a problem. When zooming, 3D shaded objects fade away (everything except 2D Wireframe) and it is almost impossible to continue work (see attachment no1). If I manage to draw something on such a faded object (eg, a circle on the side of the box), only part of the screen / object has normal visibility (see attachment no2). Re zooming again cause fading.

I recently upgraded AutoCAD LT to 2013. It now appears that we need to drop the save as format back down to 2010 format.
I realise that there is a reg edit for "defaultFormatForSave" which can be changed to "48" but when a user first runs AutoCAD LT the setting is overwritten.
change the default save format to the 2010 format?
is it possible to Zoom and Pan whilst I have a title box open.
I work for a company that has installed its own toolbar and and attribute box's to be filled out.
My issue is that I need to zoom into various parts of the drawing to be able to fill out all the boxes.
Currently I have to close the dialogue box down every time I want to move the drawing to a specific are.
If there was a command or setting that I could use to be able to keep the box open and move the drawing at the same time that would be great.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a 3D model using 3D solids and 3D blocks, then I make a render of a view and works fine, but if I make a zoom in to a zone and render it then the 3D blocks disappear showing only the floor (a 3D solid) and sometimes the render is just plain black, after a zoom out everything works fine. I made an Audit, exploded the blocks, even when making a crop render. Attached images explain better.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from cad2012 to cad2013. In 2012, I could zoom in and out with the roller ball until I was able to see my entire drawing in its paperspace viewport. Now, in 2013, I can only zoom in extremely far with one movement of the rollerball and then zoom back out when I move it the opposite direction. There is no in-between like there used to be in 2012. This is extremely annoying because I find that the only option is to use zoom>window which takes way too long to get the result I need. Is there a way to change the interval in which the rollerball zooms?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had made a block for a series of unit heaters in 2011 and everything worked great. It had a block properties table that allowed a selection like this:
Input (Electric, Hydronic, Gas) --> Make (Ouellet, Reznor, etc) --> Size (150MBH, 250MBH, etc) --> Flue (UTR, Straight through wall)
In 2013 however, it combines the the flue options so it now if I select Gas, I get:
Reznor
Lennox
Reznor
Lennox
The first two being flue up and the second two being flue straight. The other options work fine because they don't have the flue option.
Why is this happening in 2013? I even made a test block in 2013 that follows the same format and it did the same. Is there a limitation to the number of flyouts in 2013?
I make use of thie BATTMAN command quite a lot as I set up and manage my drawings for my company, through this I am editing attributed information and have seen the options 'invisible', 'verify' and 'preset' are available. Confirm the functionality of this options and how they affect the attribute ?
