In AutoCAD 2013/14, there is finally the option for removing Pan and Zoom from the UNDO list?
That would be like the invention of the wheel. For me it's a Buy/Don't buy option.
Is there a way to filter out zoom and pan operations so they're not included in the undo list?
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a way to not include zoom features in the undo command.
for instance, if i delete something and than zoom out, i have to undo multiple times to complete the undo delete.
I want to completely eliminate zoom featues from the undo command.
I am using Civil 3D 2013, Windows 7 x64.
Intellizoom does not seem to work properly on certain drawings, where if I undo... nothing happens. Rather, it tries to undo *each* click of my scroll wheel, without doing anything. This results in dozens and hundreds of undo commands, most of which are totally useless. This of course breaks my undo command, rendering it almost pointless. If I make a change, zoom out and decide that the change is not needed, I cannot easily undo; I have to undo something like 50 "commands" that do nothing, before I get to the "real" undo that I wanted to undo in the first place.
I understand there is the "Combine zoom and pan commands"; this is checked off. It does not seem to do anything. How do I make my undo command useful again? As a keyboard user, I want to use ctrl-z for my undos. I do not want to go to the undo button, pull down the menu, and search trhough the 50 commands to find the correct command to undo to, especially since I never had this problem before in previous versions of Civil 3D.
Some additional information:
1. I can open some other drawings that get the correct undo/zoom behaviour.
2. I can open the drawing I have problems with using a previous version of Civil 3d (2012), and get the correct undo/zoom behaviour.
The AutoCAD doesn’t show the “intersect osnap” at certain zoom!
The “intersection osnap” between a “hatched rectangle” and a “DASHDOT2” line appears and disappears depending on the amount of zoom!
As I zoom out the “intersection osnap” appears but when I zoom in, it disappears
Why the "intersection Osnap" should disappear as I zoom in?

I am working on getting some settings done, moving from 2008 to 2012. How do you set the Middle Mouse Button (wheel) to either Zoom All or Zoom Extents when you double click it? I thought it was set in the Main CUI file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was working on some work files, and generally a box comes up saying that there are unresolved references and asking what to do. Usually I hit the x and everything works fine, but this time i accidentally clicked the checkbox to automatically ignore unresolved x references and now certain files will not load the references even though the path is correct and the files are there. I was wondering how to undo this check box. I imagine it has to be a variable or setting somewhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack. In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location. If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.
Tested on AutoCAD 2010 VS 2008
<CommandMethod("MMult")> _
Sub testmult()
Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To 10
Call testdraw()
Next
End Sub

I have a brand new workstation and only on certain files it will say FATAL ERROR: Cannot write to undo file (probably disk full) when ever I save. I have tried cleaning out the TEMP file, turning off the Undo function, auditing the file and its xrefs, and recovering the file. It was a file that was on the server, but I have pulled it to my local machine and I have also increased the amount of virtural memory avaiable.

So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
It seems that the 'combine zoom and pan commands' option doesn't work correctly. Let's say it doesn't react as i am used to in previous version. now i have to do the undo command or 'ctrl z' many times before i am back at the point where i want to go. I using the middle mouse button often to zoom in and out, and for panning. but now there are a lot of steps to undo if you want to go back.
I tried to switch of and on this option in the options dialog but no difference.
when i am i the viewports and use the "scl" shortcut click zoom to scale nothing will happen i can zoom use anno. in the lower right corner or propties.
is there a buttom or a prompt that needs to be fixed.
so i select numerous objects and can see their grips. I then go and zoom and/or pan around the place, and the grips disappear!
why is this happening?
Is there a fix?
Is there a way to adjust the settings in pan, zoom, and orbit. I've been using these commands with my mouse button and wheel. These 3 commands are not behaving properly. Whenever I make a small scroll on my mouse, the view port zooms all the way until I cannot see anything, which is very unlikely. The same goes when I use Orbit, a small movement/click in my mouse, makes a very big difference in a view port.
But everything goes well whenever I start new drawing.
I have a problem with the zoom and fill patterns in two PCs with Autocad 2012 In both, very often, when I zoom in on the design the fill patterns disappear.
After an update of the image reappear and this is a very big problem for me. The two PCs are both intel I7, one use a nVidia Geforce and other an nVidia Quadro, and I tried different driver versions but without benefits.
Why we don’t have the command “zoom to layer” in the AutoCAD?
In particular cases, we need to zoom to certain layer. Is this possible in the AutoCAD? In the ArcGIS we do have this tool.

I get an error about transparent zoom not working because it requires a regen. I do not want to turn the autoregen off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis happens with a number of drawings, I believe all the files are very large approximately 8mb+. The issue is that by using the REGEN or the Zoom - Dynamic command, it will freeze AutoCAD. I will have to conduct a force shutdown than restart the program.
My question is; where do I start to determine what is the cause? Where do I find an error log?
There is problem in auto cad 2011.When click Zoomtoolbar. All miginfing icon likes Zoom Scale,Zoom Center,Zoom Extents,.... how make visible this icon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?
I am having problems with zoom, pan and rotate at high zoom level. The movements becoming jerky and delayed. But for whatever reason the problem exists in some assembly files and not in the others.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I select a hatch or polyline or any object with grips for that matter, and hold down shift to select multiple grips on the object or objects and then press my middle mouse button to pan or scroll it to zoom, the grips that I have selected de-select, meaning I have to set up the view so that all the grips I want to move are visible before selecting them.
This is only happening on some drawings (although it is most of them) and only when I use 2012 not 2011. Which system variable it is that has gone screwy that I need to reset? or is it something else?
I did notice that zoom in or out in camera raw is slow , even in middle pc , i'm not talking about hi end pc but i did find it's amazing fast if use process 2003 or 2010. May i use like default the 2003 or 2010 ? How can i do it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
Is there a way to change this zoom?
recently my zoom tool changed from default zoom in + to zoom out -
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't find in new max (2013) settings for zoom. I want to set Zoom about mouse pointer and adjust a bit zoom speed (now it is too much for one mouse wheel step).
I can't find zoom settings in 3ds max 2013. Where they are? I think that in previous max it was in Customize -> Viewports tab. But now it is not there.
