AutoCAD 2013 :: Midpoint Of A Line

Apr 25, 2012

Say you have a square and you want to draw a line from the midpoint of one side to the other, can you set something so that it tells you when you are exactly on the midpoint of a line?

AutoCad 2D :: Midpoint On Line Not Visible (Grips)

Aug 23, 2012

on my work pc i'm missing two features i used to have:

- Firstly, when i click a PL i can't see the midpoint of the line, and can't drag the line like i used to. I tried to change GRIPS, but can only choose between 0 and 1 when choosing grips. 0 being nothing visible, 1 being visible endpoints of the polylines. 2 is NOT valid options that i can choose.

- I can't add a new vertex. I think the way i used to do it was to hover over the midpoint and it would suggest if i wanted to add a new vertex. If this is the case, it's obvious that if i get problem 1 fixed, problem 2 will solve itself.

AutoCad 2D :: How To Dimension Midpoint Of One Beam To Midpoint Of Another One

Apr 21, 2013

Im trying to dimension the midpoints of a series vertical beams thats perpendicular to the x axis. How to dimension the midpoint of one beam to the midpoint of another beam?

Normally i just select dimlinear and then ctl + right click "mid between 2 points", but this way just seems time consuming when you have a series of them to do, is there a better way to dimension a series of beams from one midpoint to another midpoint?

Is this no longer possible? My constraint options seem to be fine.

I can't snap to a midpoint in a line.  For example, If I draw a line 10" long, I can't draw a line from the center of that line.  It used to give me an auto snap option to go to, but now it only allows me to snap to the ends of that line.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Add Sketch-point To Midpoint Of Arc?

Mar 16, 2012

How would one add a sketch-point to a midpoint of an arc? For a SketchLine its easy...

oSketch.GeometricConstraints.AddMidpoint oSketchPoint, oSketchLine

However, I can't see how to do the same operation to find the midpoint of a SketchArc. The interface of course has a selection filter for this so I assume the API can do the same?

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Obtain A Vertex From Edge Midpoint

Nov 7, 2012

I need to define a mate constraint with a workplane as EntityOne and a midpoint from an Edge as EntityTwo.

API-Help tells me valid objects are planar faces, linear edges, vertices, cylindrical faces, conical faces, spherical faces, revolved faces, work planes, work axes, and work points.

The Edge object gives me StartVertex and StopVertex, but what about the midpoint?

After Effects :: Aligning / Landing CC Page Turn To Midpoint

Aug 24, 2013

I'm having quite a bit of trouble with achieving a desired effect with CC Page Turn

I'm attempting to make it look as if an open books page is being turned with the centre of the book acting as the Page Turns limit.

When I pull the fold position out fully the page lands way out, I've toyed around with the layers anchor point, and adjusting keyframes of CC Page Turn halfway but no success.

I've included a quick gif to indicate where all is going wrong. I basically want the page to land flush on the left side

AutoCAD 2013 :: Cut Line Command?

Apr 13, 2013

I've been searching for a command that could actually cut lines for purpose. For example, if I'm drawing a 2 line crossed, wish I could cut the 2 lines so they are now 4 segments. On a circle, I could actually draw a line that pass trough the circle on cut it off the way I wish. Does such command exists for autoCAD? Very often, I've many lines at the same time that I wish I could cut with a single one. The problem is that I don't wish to trim 'em and extend (losing time and long process). Sure there is also the div cmd, but this isn't what I'm seeking for.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Snap To Anywhere On Line?

Aug 19, 2013

I need to snap to guide lines but the only snap I can get is to the endpoint, which results in some very diagonal lines. I actually have ortho turned on because I need only 90 degree angles. Sometimes I need to move an entire line and I would like it perfectly lined up to the guideline. The line being moved is part of a polyline.

I sometimes do need to start or end at an endpoint but how do I do that then also snap to just anywhere on the guideline while maintinaing a 90 degree angle?

AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Add Text To A Line

Jun 29, 2013

For a current assignment I have created a drawing with several property lots. I am supposed to label the lengths of the lot borders. However, I am having difficulty doing this. I would like text to appear on/above the top line of each block, but I cannot seem to find a way to get the curser to appear on the line. My first question is whether or not this is even possible. How to do this online and come up with nothing. Secondly, if it is possible to add text to a line could this text then be centered?

If this is not at all possible, what is the closest alternative method for inputting text on a line that is centered between the lot corners?

When I select the line tool and specify the base point and type how long it should be i.e. 3' and a red box appears around the dimension box and the line isn't drawn. I tried not specifying a unit of length and it draws the line just fine. But for some reason it wont complete the line if I specify feet or inches.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Extending To Line With Z Elevation?

Oct 17, 2012

There is a coworker of mine that seems to have an issue pop up in random files here.  He is drawing his siteplan on a file received from a consultant, the issue he's having is that if a line has any sort of elevation to it, he can't extend another line to it. He can flatten the line and then extend to it, but if the same issue is tried on any other machine, the rest of us can extend the line without issue regardless of it having elevation or not.  The frustrating part is that he couldn't tell the line had any elevation to it until he took the precision value out to 8 digits. The line he couldn't extend to had an elevation of 0.00000004. But as I said, his machine is the only one that has this issue.  We are all running AutoCAD 2013 on Windows 7 64 Bit. Is there a setting or variable somewhere controlling this behavior?
