Can you import files from autocad windows 7 (using mac w/ bootcamp or parallels) to sketch-up and photoshop on Mac os x 10.8.5? If so, what is the easiest way to do so? Also, would Parallels or Bootcamp be better for going between the operating systems?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIf there's a conflict between the UI for teh AutoCAD drawing window and Parallels? There seems to be a consistent change in mouse behavior when the mouse moves to the AutoCAD drawing window when running AutoCAD ('11, '12, '13, '14) under Parallels (5, 6, & 7).
Since Parallels is now officially supported.
I'm having 2 seperate import problems in Coreldraw X5 in Windows 7. The first one, and the one I need to fix immediatly is, every time I try to import a dfx file, the program crashes. The other which is less important right now is, a lot of times when I try to import PDF's I get an error message that says the file is corrupt.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am no longer able to import any new files into Lightroom. I was in the middle of an import and all of a sudden it stopped and the program hung. I am running Win 7 64 with an i7 with 12 gigs of RAM. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom multiple times (Using both the windows installer and via Lightroom and then searched to see if there were any orpne files on my drive. ) , did a system restore to a point about a month ago, tried importing a simple jpeg file from the hard drive as well as CR2 files (Canon) and even DNG files. Also tried setting up a new catalog with no success. Plenty of hard drive space and no drive errors. There is nothing wrong with the files as I can open them in Photoshop. I can see the files on the import screen though they are not always rendered. When I choose import it just starts, says Importing files and hangs. When I finally give up, and I have waited an hour or more, and kill the process I get the message - No photos or videos were found to import. Other tidbits. Takes a long time to be able to select files to import from the import screen. System seems to run for some time before I can select or deselect (If this were a Mac it would show a beach ball during this wait) Each time I quit or try to change catalogues it asks for the weekly backup (my default) even though I backed it up sometimes as recently as within the past 10 minutes and those backups appear to be valid and in the directory. Every other feature, including Export seems to work I just can no longer import files.

If not, has Autodesk updated direct connect as a maya/autocad plug in so we can use dwgs between the two programs? I can't get support to answer this, they keep saying "we monitor the forums, ask there." So, here goes! Autodesk ought to take a lesson from zbrush, who imports/exports with one button now!

if the users import their old (Acad 2010 Map 3D) files where symbollists and view settings are stored.
After a restart of Acad it hangs up with following Errors (See attached).
We can solve this issue temporary with restoring the defaults.
So the problem is importing old files so i think it is not campatible with this old acad 2010 files.
Is there a way to import such old files?
I have different SLDPRT files I would like to import into AutoCAD Mechanical 2014 (it's a student version).
My colleague is able to import those files, in my case it always fails even though we are having the same files and the same version.
He has Windows 7, I have Windows 8.1.
I have recently upgraded to 2013 FDS and now when I try to import Acad files (sometimes up to 2000 solids) it takes virtually a full day to import one file. When I had 2011 I could import these files much faster.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to Map 3d 2010 to Mapd 3d 2013 and i cannot figure out how to find the commands to insert images or import/export shp files.
I'm running 2013 in "autocad classic" and did so with 2010 as well. 2010 had a menu bar pull down called "Map" where I could insert an image (Image->Insert). There was also in 2010 a toolbar named "Map" that had import shp, export shp and assign coordinate system.
I can't find any of this in 2013. I can't even find the commands in the customization to create my own toolbar. The commands work (mapiinsert, mapimport, mapexport and ADESETCRDSYS) but i can't find them listed anywhere.
Importing SAT files has an error trying to open multiple files using the Select Additional SAT Files for Import Button.
Work around is to import using 2012, save and open in 2013, but have not fully tested. Have not tried yet using a 2012 max file as an xRef in 2013.
The Autocad 2013 x86 or x64 is not installed on Windows 8 Consumer Preview because programs can not read .NET Framework versions 2 and 4 which are integral parts of the OS.

I'm getting erratic behavior of the crosshairs when trying to draft. There are two independent problems, depending on which view mode i'm in:
1.
In 'Cristal' or 'Coherence' view the crosshairs move with a lag or delay as i move my mouse. I've seen other complaints about this on forums, but no working solution as far as i can see.
2.
In 'Window', 'Fullscreen' & 'Modality' views, the crosshair movement is initially smother and more responsive, but then i'm getting a weird erratic jog effect when i try to pan around the model (by holding down the middle mouse button and dragging.
Both of these problems are incredibly infuriating and make drafting in Parallels a misery. AutoCAD LT is supposed to be supported in Parallels now so I'd like to know if there's a way of getting around this horrible UI glitch.
I keep getting that it is loosing connection, so I never really get to download.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a MacBook Pro and originally thought that I would be able to switch between boot camp and parrallels to run Inventor. After reading several threads there seems to be a problem with the Inventor Licience breaking if you switch from on environment to the other.
Has tried using the Lic. Transfer Utility when switching between the two. I know it sounds like a hassel, but shouldn't that work? I sure that isn't how it Utility was designed, but since the program thinks that you have changed computers?
I haven't tried this personally, but really that Inventor running thru boot camp would be the best environment for serious work and I could use parallels when I need to less intensive design or review?
I have loaded parallels 6 and windows 7 as a virtual machine with boot camp. I haven't loaded Inventor but plan on doing that today?
Have just migrated to new PC (Ver 7) from an CP machine. LR 2.7 is loaded on the new machine and I have a folder called Photo Universe that contains 15,000+ photos with keywords, modifications, etc. Quustion is how to import the existing folders and photos so that my previous keywords, configurations and settings carry over as well.
I tried "Selecting All" sub folders, but that didn't work. I guess I'm hoping and looking for a silver bullet. On the other hand, I'll do whatever it takes to make this happen.
Presently, all of my images are stored on windows photo gallery. I have them organized into folders& subfolders. would the same folders and sub folders be exported into lrm as labeled. I know you do this under import mode and add from others. Would it behove me to make sure all of my gallery folders are properly labeled tagged etc. before i do this transfer.When i do the transfer can i rename the folders,re-tag them etc.

When I go to my Pictures file and try to open the photos i get the message: Photo Gallery Can't Open The Images Or Video Because The Format Isn't Supported Or You Don't Have The Latest Upgrade To Photo Gallery.
