Lightroom :: Non-viewable Photos While Importing From Card Using Windows 8
Jan 30, 2013I can not see my photos that have been imported onto the palette, it show 201 photos and they are blank, what is wrong. I am using 4.3 with Win8.

Lightroom :: Viewing Photos In Windows Pictures After Importing?
Jun 3, 2013After importing pictures from my digital camera in RAW format using Lightroom 4 it places them in my Pictures file on tghe hard drive. When I go to my Pictures file and try to open the photos i get the message: Photo Gallery Can't Open The Images Or Video Because The Format Isn't Supported Or You Don't Have The Latest Upgrade To Photo Gallery. Pictures from a small point & shoot work fine. I get the same results when importing using the camera Mfg's software.

Feb 19, 2008I have been using Photoshop 5 with my Canon Digital Rebel and have had no problem uploading from the CF card. I recently purchased a Canon 40D. Photoshop will not allow me to upload from the CF card that is being used in the 40D.
Are there any settings changes that need to be made? Have not had problem before even when using Kodak and Fuji cameras.

Mar 17, 2013I just purchased an imac and lr4. I've plugged in my SanDisk card reader and loaded my cf card. lr4 says the files were not imported because they could not be read. The files are Nikon NEF raw. What do I need to do to import them? According to Adobe's web site lr4 comes with Nikon D2X raw format already included.

May 28, 2013My Lightroom 4 on a Mac has stopped importing from a memory card. It used to do so, but now it hangs up and never actually imports the photos. If I save the photos from the card to a folder on my desktop, it works just fine. I have tried several different memory cards at different speeds, sizes, fullness, and it doesn't seem to matter. What can I do to go back to importing directly from the memory card?

May 2, 2013When I import images from my memory card, the images in preview are colored but when rendered in LR4, they are automatically converted to black and white. I made sure that in the import panel that 'Import During Import'> Develop Settings> None. My images show up in LR4 colored for an instance then convert to black and white. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Am I missing something. I've checked my camera settings with nothing that I believe is the problem. I've been successful in using the other presets under 'Apply during Import' > Develop Settings, but using 'None' doesn't prevent the images from being converted to black and white in LR4. the same is true for importing to Bridge in PS-CS6. I get the same results of all the images being converted to black and white.

Nov 7, 2013I am having such a hard time only importing a few pics from my Card or from my desktop. Any easy way to import them because I am watching the videos and the tutorial does not look like my computer screen and I am seeing something different than what the woman is showing on her screen even though she shows it two different ways.
Also, do I need the full version in order to use the presets because when I click on them nothing happens. I am using the trial right now.
Lightroom :: Just Installed LR5 Not Importing RAW Files From A Card
Mar 6, 2014I just installed LR5 on a MAC. I have pics to import from cards, one card loaded no problem, the next card brought up the images and when I go to import them I recieve a message saying "Some Import Operations Were not Performed." giving me the following 2 errors (1) and (563)last night it was (1) and (504) and (505). Seems like it is reading the images as it pulls them up, just not moving them. I have reviewed everything from Permissions to loading the cards with no problem in LR4.

Jul 2, 2013Recently upgraded to LR5, and today noticed when importing a job that half the images I wanted to import were greyed out and hovering over one a pop-up stated "This photo has already been imported" - but that's ridiculous because I just took it and have NOT imported it yet.
A search on my system shows that the file 0L2A9857.CR2 does exist - But yesterday's job just won't import - the only way I can add it is to manually copy the files in Finder and then perform an Add import in LR5.
Surely it's not a setting issue, right? I'm using LR5 just as I used LR4, and even toggling the Don't Import Suspected Duplicates checkbox doesn't achieve anything.

Apr 22, 2012I had yesterday a photoshoot, today I was importing my images from my CF card to my local drive C: with Lightroon 4... Everything was fine, till a moment I get an error of Windows: "you need to format the disk in drive before you can use it."
I rejected my card, insterted in my dslr to check if picture still available, but on my screen I see the same error message 'Format first the card to use it'
50% of my images are not imported and I need them.

Aug 22, 2013I have tested the card reader, another card (which also imports images on a angle), and importing images through Iphoto - incidentally importing images correctly. The images are fine viewed on the back of my D800. I'm thinking it must be the upgrade as I've never experienced this before.

I am puzzled as the time zones on the camera and PC are both set correctly, and it seems ok if I import directly from my camera but this is a lot slower, and this causes issues if I forget to do it from the camera. I have a Canon 5D mk3 with Firmware (v1.1.3), Windows 8 and Lightroom 4.3.

Nov 11, 2013I am having issues importing photos from my SD card into LR4. I have 319 pictures on my SD card and LR is only recognizing 283 of them. In the Library module, I can see the pics that LR is not recognizing but they are greyed out. When I put my mouse over the picture it says "This photo has already been imported" but I never imported it. I did format my memory card right before my shoot if that makes a difference. I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. I have tried to restart my computer, restart LR, eject the SD card then put it back in but it's still not working. I attached a screen shot

Sep 12, 2012Trying to import some photos from an SD card that has worked in the past. First, I get an error "The following files could not be imported because they could not be read" with a list of all files. This includes files I've successfully imported into LR in the past (tried them as a test, since they didn't get caught by the "new" filter).
So I copied all the images to my HD and tried importing from there, and got a different error: "Could not copy a file to the requested location" for all files.
Settings: "Copy as DNG", "Into Subfolder: By date: 2012/YYYY-MM-DD"
I'm running OSX 10.7.4 and Lightroom 4.1 The files are a mix of JPG, CR2, and MOV

Dec 17, 2013I edit my photos in lightroom 5.3 at home, i then have to export the photos to a SD card, so i can get them printed at photo store. photos look great on my monitor at home. when i get the photos back they look very bright and colors are not correct.

(yes) and then imported into LR4 where they seem fine. any thoughts? software is up to date. camera is a D200.

Apr 24, 2012Have just migrated to new PC (Ver 7) from an CP machine. LR 2.7 is loaded on the new machine and I have a folder called Photo Universe that contains 15,000+ photos with keywords, modifications, etc. Quustion is how to import the existing folders and photos so that my previous keywords, configurations and settings carry over as well.
I tried "Selecting All" sub folders, but that didn't work. I guess I'm hoping and looking for a silver bullet. On the other hand, I'll do whatever it takes to make this happen.

Jun 22, 2013Presently, all of my images are stored on windows photo gallery. I have them organized into folders& subfolders. would the same folders and sub folders be exported into lrm as labeled. I know you do this under import mode and add from others. Would it behove me to make sure all of my gallery folders are properly labeled tagged etc. before i do this transfer.When i do the transfer can i rename the folders,re-tag them etc.

Oct 2, 2012I am no longer able to import any new files into Lightroom. I was in the middle of an import and all of a sudden it stopped and the program hung. I am running Win 7 64 with an i7 with 12 gigs of RAM. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom multiple times (Using both the windows installer and via Lightroom and then searched to see if there were any orpne files on my drive. ) , did a system restore to a point about a month ago, tried importing a simple jpeg file from the hard drive as well as CR2 files (Canon) and even DNG files. Also tried setting up a new catalog with no success. Plenty of hard drive space and no drive errors. There is nothing wrong with the files as I can open them in Photoshop. I can see the files on the import screen though they are not always rendered. When I choose import it just starts, says Importing files and hangs. When I finally give up, and I have waited an hour or more, and kill the process I get the message - No photos or videos were found to import. Other tidbits. Takes a long time to be able to select files to import from the import screen. System seems to run for some time before I can select or deselect (If this were a Mac it would show a beach ball during this wait) Each time I quit or try to change catalogues it asks for the weekly backup (my default) even though I backed it up sometimes as recently as within the past 10 minutes and those backups appear to be valid and in the directory. Every other feature, including Export seems to work I just can no longer import files.

May 6, 2013Why does LR4 not import ALL my photos from the selected folder on my portable hard drive? "Include Subfolders" is checked and "suspected duplicates" are allowed. The difference is about 10,000 photos per the info from Windows Exployer (approx. 175,000 vs 185,000 files). I can view the missing photos in exployer and not in LR4. I have tried deleting the catalog and starting from scratch. I have tried importing from subfolders. Sometimes I get different results, but not much different.

Mar 9, 2012I am using Lightroom 3 on a Mac OS. I wanted to download "Focus Magic", but apparently that is an impossibility. I installed it on my PC, on which also have LR3, made the adjustments I wanted in "focus Magic", then copied them to a disc. When I go to copy them into LR on my Mac, it won't allow it, as the photos "already exist" on the system. I have also tried this on different occasions for different reasons with the same result.
