IEC schematic symbol in icon menu is absent. There is just JIC symbol library. Even there is no IEC folder in "Autodesk/Acade/Libs" folder. It contains folder named: Hyd_Iso125, JIC1, JIC125, Panel, Panel_mm, pid, pneu_iso125.

In Ken LaRue's demo (see attachment B), theres a lot more option for you to tinker with in CFX.mine (see attachment A) only stops at 'timing' option. what do i need to do to view the rest of it?
and because i cant view the rest of the option, i can't change CFX schematic view to Action schematic view.

We are currently moving from 2009 to 2013 and have a variety of drop down menus and palettes. I want to promote the use of the ribbon menus and new set up.
What is the best way to set up the block libraries? Could I just use the Design Center references block drawings?

I have autocad 2013 and I used to have the material library downloaded and working fine. I recently installed revit 2014 and deleted all 2013 material library and downloaded the 2014 that came with Revit.
However, now autocad gives me an error saying the material library is not installed. Is there anyway to remap it so that it reads the 2014 library? I would rather not download the 2013 library if I don't have to, I use windows on a mac and my bootcamp partition is very tiny.
When a make a copy of a material library item (siding) and use the materials editor to change the color the materials do not change from the original color. What can I do to update 5the colors?

The result is some strange message in IPJ details. "Inventor Material library" strings in "Appearance libraries" and "Material libraries" are both red and tooltip says "The protein library file is not available".
Why protein? Does it have any relation to [URL] ....?
I've made my own material library containing a short list of materials from the Inventor default library. And I have set my Project ipj to use it as the default library. All works OK. But, every time I make a new project ipj I have to go find my custom library adsklib file to add it to the project. Is there a certain folder the adsklib file need to live in so that new projects will pick it up automatically?

I wonder if this is possible to create though. A dynamic block that you can drag out to expose more terminals To be able to label the terminals individually. For each wire terminal to provide a snap function so lines can easily snap to them. Be able to label each wire that gets connected individually.
Be able to add a heading to each block for make and model number. Not sure if acad can actually do all this with dynamic blocks. I attached an image from Visio as well.

The only way i see is to "save styles to style library", but with this feature only the NEW created materials get saved in the library. But how to delete or modifiy materials that are already in the library?

So I created an VB.NET application to get and check out all project files from my VAULT, change the different paths and check in the files in the vault. However, I need to include the new material library in each project files.
I found that we could change almost everything, but not include material library.

I have upgraded to Inventor 2014 and I'm having trouble transferring my custom content center library (local machine, no server). My understanding was that I copy the .idcl and .idz files from the old folder to the 2014 folder, open the projects dialog box, configure content center libraries button, and use the update tool button.
However, in the configure libraries dialog box my custom library doesn't even show up in the list along with my ANSI, ISO, "My Library", etc. Restarting Inventor didn't work.
First, I have not grasped the extent yet of how the new appearance library works.. we don't get crazy with colors, reflections etc.. but we do have a handful of colors that we use on the machines we use.. so instead of using the default appearance library, i made a new appearance library. All this went well, but i periodically as i need them will add colors to it.. problem is that i'm obviously doing something wrong, because my colors don't always stay in there after i restart Inventor.. and yesterday, i can't seem to keep any of the colors i setup in there to stay.. all i want to do is copy specific colors from inventors appearance library.. drag them into mine, rename them, maybe tweak the color, and then they be there for next time.. why won't they stay?
The edit pencil will come up on my library.. i've done the release edit after i'm done.. everything works in this inventor session, but if i turn inventor off and back on again.. they are gone.. only thing i have thought of remaining is that 3 users on our network share the same design styles location so we all our using same stuff, so is the file inventor uses in design styles to save to read only or something, but i read that appearances aren't saved in design styles.. How to do this and the colors stay and populate through all the existing stuff.. I have got the colors to lock into my template ipt in the doc appearances.. and i've done the save to custom library thing.. works until i restart inventor..
Is there a way to auto label every line length of a schematic so that it displays on the cad drawing? Sort of like using the linear dimension tool but for all available lines of a layer or line within a drawing.

But i want to spot importing psd file directly from cfx schematic using 'read file' node in I/O tab. I will get one single file . I believe this node is containing multiple information (channels/layers). How can i extract the layers from that node ? how can i make this node usable since i can't make any connection to other node. Like in Nuke , there's a node named 'shuffle' which can extract or pull out a selected channel/layers from a single node. How to do this in cfx schematic ?
Talking about 'shuffle' node in Nuke. Is there any node similar to that? so the node not only can pull/extract channels but also can 'shuffle' or re-pipe the channel . For example pipe chan Red to chan Green, or Alpha to Red etc. What is the best way to do this ? do i have to use CC module ? any similar node in cfx schematic level?
Have a bit of a puzzle that's been bouncing around a bit. Is there a way to delay a object following it's parent for a few frames? For instance, I have a hook attached to a crane that rotates around, the hook following it around. If I could have it follow the crane at a bit of a lag, allowing the cable to curve slightly, it would look a deal more real. I know I could hand animate it, but is there a way to set it up so that the hook will follow the crane after a delay of say, 10 frames or so?

I was told to go in the GMASK schematic (the one that looks like action) and add a parent axis to move all the masks at once. WHen I'm in GMASK schematics I don't have access to a node bin. Where do I add an AXIS to parent all my masks in there?

There has to be a visual relationship between the two areas.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI go to mk, connect my clip to a gmask , double click gmask to focus to that module. I switch to 2 viewport. The left is the schematic, the right is the F1 (front). First when i click the F1 viewport, i got no 'add' button for adding gmask. So i have to first go to view pulldown, just do some unecessary click there to refresh. Now after refreshing, i can see my 'add' button is showed up. But the second problem is : i can't immediately press that 'add' button, there's a lag about 5- 7 seconds before i can click that button.
Also i can switch from mk schematic to f1 or f4 quite fast, but sometime go from any of front/back/matte view back to the mk schematic, it will take 4-7 second even for simple/basic mk network/tree.
The problem won't appear when using single viewport.
How to do it ? in cfx , alt-ctrl-drag will work fine, but not in mk. I'm using fcp hotkey so i can't use alt-cmd as it's used to zoom by default. Using fcp hotkey has the same problem ? i created couple new user but they don't work.

If i'm in timeline editing outside cfx then i can use alt-E and drag the clip to have a 1 frame copy. It's cool but how to do the same thing inside cfx ? i want to do it inside cfx schematic. Actually I can use a timewarp node or mux or maybe there's some other node that can do the same function. But is it gonna affect the speed of the whole tree ?
i'm comparing the two scenarios :
1. i did 1 frame grab in the editing then bring it into cfx
2. i bring the full source clip inside cfx and apply timewarp to get 1 frame to work with.
Is there gonna be different in speed ? if only single clip , i won't see any different. What i want to know : what is happening internally ? does the second scenario will eat up more processing ? If yes, then we need to feature to extract 1 frame inside cfx (just like in editing).
As an addition, in media bin, when i'm in editing module (outside cfx) , i can ctrl-E (cursor change to red icon) to grab 1 frame . But when i go to cfx then it won't work. ctrl-E in media bin won't do anything. It will be great to have that feature in cfx.
Can't seem to locate the Inventor Material Library....under Default in Projects, the Inventor Material Library is highlighted in Red. Where I need to browse to inorder to locate it?

When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)

The weird thing why this node has 3 input ( fg , bg ,matte ) ? the single stream of the matte should make it work. Is there any good explaination ? In what condition we need to connect all the output ? if i connect the fg to other image/clip then when we go back to action, the fg of the related layer will be replaced. But why we want to replace the fg using mk?
