I am having problems using the publish command in Autocad 2013. The command works fine in 2010. I am able to plot normally in 2013. As you can see from the attached screenshots my settings are the same in both versions. The command freezes up during plotting of the second drawing in any group.
when I trying to publish in single-sheet file. so I type publish on my command bar, then I chose publish to pdf but when i try to click on publish options to set the location where I need to put the pdf files the publish window freeze. same thing when i click on add sheet button.
NOTE: I have this problem especialy when I used AUtoCAD from home. to use AutoCAD from home I made borrow licence.
I'm using Autocad 2013, and im trying to freeze layers in certain viewports, but the VP freeze/thaw button is greyed out for all my layers and wont allow me to freeze anything. I dont want to use the New viewport freeze/thaw button.
This has been occurring numerous time more than it should. While in a drawing mid command, panning, typing anything pretty much my cad freezes. The rest of my computer is fine everything works properly but CAD is frozen and when i bring my pointer into the program it disappears. I can even open cad up again and the old CAD will stay open. It shows the drawings i have open on the tab bar and i can’t close out of them. I have a computer that’s more than capable to work properly.
Every time I try to hatch a larger area, my AutoCAD 2013 program freezes and I need to close the program and restart it, losing anything I hadn't saved prior to the freeze. In addition, certain areas won't hatch because the program is telling me I have open boundaries which is not the case.
Everything works fine until the center of my cursor passes over a 3d solid, the cursor then disappears, the spinning circle icon spins for sometimes minutes, and the display greys over, and I cannot click 'ESC' or Ctrl + C to abort this cycling. I have to wait, sometimes 30 secs, sometimes 2 minutes for it to stop freezing and the screen returns to normal.
As I work in 3d solids a lot, this makes Acad 2013 unusable to me. Acad 2007 was not an issue with this problem I still have it installed as I have to revert back to 2007 to do anything with 3d solids in it.
I have installed AutoCAD 2013 student on my Laptop (Win7 32Bit) and want to work now.
But I have the problem that my Menubar always freezes / becomes instabil.
-> When I open ACAD, the menu bar is by default on "Home", when I click on the tab "Insert", the tools of "insert" aren't visible, there are still the tools from "Home" shown (Line, Polyline, Circle etc.)
But when I click on these wrong shown tools, the tools of "Insert" become active. (Only the 'surface' doesn't react)
Well, I see always the Home-tools. All the other tools aren't displayed to me, but they work (if u know where they are, you can guess and click and hope you hit the right one )
The problem is when I select a solid, autocad freezes for about a minute. After that minute, I can execute a command. During that minute of inactivity, I can use anyother program or part of windows normally with no apparent degradation. If I click in an autocad window, toolbar, etc, all the open autocad windows cloud over and the cursor turns to a spinning cursor. Outside of an autocad window the cursor is normal. This is how it works in the noun/verb process, grip editing. However, if a command is issued first, then the selection of solids is instantaneous. The solid(s) are appropriately highlighted and everything proceeds normally in the verb noun approach.
I have played with a variety of suggested performance settings in windows and in autocad. I have updated the graphics drivers so I always have the latest version. I have a quadro fx 3700, 16gb ram, and 2.5 tb of disc space.
Every time I use the drop down menu to select unit to save OR open a file, it freezes and then all the programbecomes not responding (have to force close from windows utility).
I have never had trouble publishing to DWF's or PDF's from the sheet set manager. Now recently, when I try, It asks where I want to save it then briefly pops up the progress box. Nothing happens, though. The box dissappears and it doesn't create any files. I have tried changing the publish options as well as the publishcollate variable. This is happening to any files I try it with including ones that it worked on just last week. Have I gotten a setting changed somewhere? I tried to run a repair on AutoCAD, but that didn't work?
In previous versions of Autocad 2008 and earlier you could start a new drawing xref in a drawing then switch to layout and create a viewport that would show the xref. Then you could click inside that viewport and run the FL (freeze layer) command and selectively freeze layers by clicking on them.
In my current version of Autocad Civil 3D 2010, when I follow the same steps as above and run the FL (freeze layer) command inside the viewport, the entire layer contents within the viewport freeze as if everything is on that one layer.
I notice that if I pull up the layer manager box and go down the list of xref'd layers and select the freeze in viewport option for each of the layers I need to freeze it will do what I need to have done, But I'd like to be able to be able to selectively freeze these layers visually within the viewport like I've always been able to do, instead scrolling down a long list of layer names and freezing them that way.
When I publish multiple pages with either pdf or printing, it only prints the first layout. I tried to repair/reinstall AutoCAD and the problem still exist.
why the iDrop functionality included in the Publish to Web feature still inside AutoCAD 2013 no longer works...
We use this to tool to host AutoCAD Detail Libraries so users can open details in Design Review or drag and drop details as blocks, exploding the blocks and editing the details to suit the need. However, this no longer works on our webpages!
When I select multiple PS tabs and Publish them all to a pdf, the pdf file that is created has a small lock next to it UNLESS I select AutoCAD's default location (my documents). If I select a project folder and name the pdf whatever I want, it puts the small lock. If I let it put it wherever it wants, it doesn't.
Even if I change the default location through Publish Options, it will add the lock. I need to be able to select different folders every time so I need the option of selecting where to put it.
How to stop it from making files with the lock icon on them?
Just as of a week ago, it was brought to my attention that my publish stamp has changed to "C:usersjoshuaappdatalocal empacpublish_3412Gi1.dwg" (for example) even thou the location on the drawing I am working on is located on a server, which is normally H:/...../.../...../ Could this be from a adobe pdf driver? I dont know what changed this,
We just recently updated to AutoCAD 2013 from 2011. We use Publish to create PDF files that we send to our customers. When I tried to create a PDF in 2013 some of my drawings are oriented landscape while others are oriented portrait. I went back to 2011 and used the same drawings and it created them all oriented landscape.
how to change the publish settings so that it prompts asking for a location to save when I publish to PDF? Right now it's just saving to the default output location and I need it to ask every time where I want to save the file.
I have C3D 2010, 2011, and 2013 installed on my pc. I use the Publish command almost daily, and haven't had any serious issues with it when using 2010 or 2011. But in 2013, when I publish it just sits on the same screen and never actually publishes. I have tried turning off Publish in Background, I have checked that the printer support paths are the same as in 2010 and 2011, and I have tried Publish with different Page Setups.
When I am working on several drawngs at the same time, I use the Publish command to plot them as a group. However to save the settings as a DSD file for future use, every open file needs to be saved. Why is this? Is there a way to disable that requirement?
There is no reason I can think of besides "by design" for this. The DSD file is only a list of drawings and their plot settings and is not dpendent in any way I can think of, to whether or not one its drawings is open and not saved.
after 2013 was installed in my colleagues computer he now has the option to include Layouts when opening the publishing command, which didn't happen before. It is a slight pain removing these from the selection to be published and I was wondering how I get it to only select models and not layouts when opening the publish command as default.
I have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
The Autocad 2013 x86 or x64 is not installed on Windows 8 Consumer Preview because programs can not read .NET Framework versions 2 and 4 which are integral parts of the OS.
I have 2013 inventor/mechinical a cad did not have enought memory on c: drive added another hard drive E: need to move my files to the e drive. single seat all on this computer.
Trying to change the color of a layer in a viewport (different than the default layer color (i.e. model layer color)). Objects are set to bylayer. Changing the VP color in the layer dialog brings up the color dialog, select a different color, click OK and the VP Color DOESN"T change in the layer dialog. It stays at its previous color. Occurs on several machines.
