each attempt to save as or publish / plot to DWF in Autocad 2014 fails (Device not found) other than the device what am i missing?
tried from the Output tab on the ribbon as well as the application icon save as , publish, and plot all with the same result
I cannot export my .dwg file in other formats!! i want to save in .sat format or .iges... when i do export it does not get saved nor give any indication that it has been exported..

i need to export Geometry Data (in properties) X,Y,Z coordinates/points from a Sold 3D object into Excel (csv.file) I have tried data extraction (EATTEXT) but it doesn’t pick the points up unless I add points manually.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a character model in Mudbox 2014. I exported the face, body and hands as individual .obj files, each at its maximum subdivision level. But in Mudbox 2013 the sculpting layers are all flattened on the main layer.
Is there an option to keep the sculpting and painting layers intact?
My layout is 11x17 and within the printable area displayed. Page setup is 11x17, Landscape But my layout gets cut off when Publishing to PDF. But is OK when Plotting PDF. I found an earlier post talking about PDF scaling having to be set to None. I found a scale setting in my CutePDF Writer that is set to 100%. There is not a None selection.
Another interesting observation is that Publishing will print the sheet upright. Plotting prints the layout rotated -90.
I am using Publish to print multiple layouts to one file.
How come when I publish to plotter the layouts in a dwg in 2014 they stay in perpetual publish status and don't plot, but open same dwg in 2013, publish and almost by the time I get to the printer, all 7 layouts have printed.

As you can see from the attached screenshots my settings are the same in both versions. The command freezes up during plotting of the second drawing in any group.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

I have never had trouble publishing to DWF's or PDF's from the sheet set manager. Now recently, when I try, It asks where I want to save it then briefly pops up the progress box. Nothing happens, though. The box dissappears and it doesn't create any files. I have tried changing the publish options as well as the publishcollate variable. This is happening to any files I try it with including ones that it worked on just last week. Have I gotten a setting changed somewhere? I tried to run a repair on AutoCAD, but that didn't work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to Map3D 2014 and work in 2D Drafting Workspace. In 2013, the export button was located in the Map Drafting tab, Map Output panel. In earlier versions it was under output tab as map 3d export. However, its position in 2014 from 2013 has been replace by a "To FDO Connection". it directs me to the older location of under the output tab - map data transfer - map 3d output, however this does not seem to exist. The only panels I have there are Plot and Export to DWF/PDF, no map data transfer. I can find it if I switch to Map Drafting Workspace in the Map Drafting pulldown - inport/export - export, or if I use the command "mapexport", but from both it only asks where and what to name the file and what type (shp, tab, etc), and then the routine stops and goes back to the drawing instead of opening the dialog to select objects, etc. Some of my clients insist on shp files.

When I publish multiple pages with either pdf or printing, it only prints the first layout. I tried to repair/reinstall AutoCAD and the problem still exist.
why the iDrop functionality included in the Publish to Web feature still inside AutoCAD 2013 no longer works...
We use this to tool to host AutoCAD Detail Libraries so users can open details in Design Review or drag and drop details as blocks, exploding the blocks and editing the details to suit the need. However, this no longer works on our webpages!
FYI, We are using IE9 both 32 and 64 Bit.

When i go to export, the options button doesnt work. when i click save, it pops up a windows and says "Problems encountered while saving the document." On my desktop with 2014 it works perfectly. how can I define the plot style/ page setup within the PUBLISH command?
When I select multiple PS tabs and Publish them all to a pdf, the pdf file that is created has a small lock next to it UNLESS I select AutoCAD's default location (my documents). If I select a project folder and name the pdf whatever I want, it puts the small lock. If I let it put it wherever it wants, it doesn't.
Even if I change the default location through Publish Options, it will add the lock. I need to be able to select different folders every time so I need the option of selecting where to put it.
How to stop it from making files with the lock icon on them?
Just as of a week ago, it was brought to my attention that my publish stamp has changed to "C:usersjoshuaappdatalocal empacpublish_3412Gi1.dwg" (for example) even thou the location on the drawing I am working on is located on a server, which is normally H:/...../.../...../ Could this be from a adobe pdf driver? View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just recently updated to AutoCAD 2013 from 2011. We use Publish to create PDF files that we send to our customers. When I tried to create a PDF in 2013 some of my drawings are oriented landscape while others are oriented portrait. I went back to 2011 and used the same drawings and it created them all oriented landscape.
Am I missing a setting somewhere in 2013?
From time to time and more than bearable as all the published pictures need to be manually checked to detect if the probleme occured, LR5 publish a picture with only the watermark applied and not the picture ! Which results in the watermark on a white background as below.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have C3D 2010, 2011, and 2013 installed on my pc. I use the Publish command almost daily, and haven't had any serious issues with it when using 2010 or 2011. But in 2013, when I publish it just sits on the same screen and never actually publishes. I have tried turning off Publish in Background, I have checked that the printer support paths are the same as in 2010 and 2011, and I have tried Publish with different Page Setups.

I have a material library in Inventor 2014 containing lots of custom defined materials. I would like to create a master list that I can give to someone who isn't using Inventor. The only property that I really need to export is the material name, e.g.' CSA G40.21-44W'.
In this case, engineering is trying to coordinate better with purchasing, by making sure that materials are specified in the same way in both departments.
As stated, my wipeouts are working just as desired when I plot single layouts, but when I publish multiple layouts they do not work at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am working on several drawngs at the same time, I use the Publish command to plot them as a group. However to save the settings as a DSD file for future use, every open file needs to be saved. Why is this? Is there a way to disable that requirement?
There is no reason I can think of besides "by design" for this. The DSD file is only a list of drawings and their plot settings and is not dpendent in any way I can think of, to whether or not one its drawings is open and not saved.
when I trying to publish in single-sheet file. so I type publish on my command bar, then I chose publish to pdf but when i try to click on publish options to set the location where I need to put the pdf files the publish window freeze. same thing when i click on add sheet button.
NOTE: I have this problem especialy when I used AUtoCAD from home. to use AutoCAD from home I made borrow licence.
I haven't tested every single combination yet in the publish menus. To save me trying them all, is there any option that works to publish all the shots in a sequence together with alpha channel?
I have a sequence of CFXa clips with matte output connected in CFX, I duplicate the sequence and commit cfx... every clip has a matte container. So far, so good. Now I want to output the whole sequence as individual shots with alpha.
Tried the EDL option, changing file type to OpenEXR... no alpha. Tried EDL, changing output type to movie and then selecting ProRes 4444. Alpha was solid black.
Is it possible to get publish to create individual movie files for each shot at all? Everytime I try this it writes one continuous quicktime file even though I select a shot number token. Writing individual shots seems only to work with image sequences, is that the case?
I am on a Windows 7, 64-bit machine running Lightroom 5. I am having problems running certain Publish Services and also while trying to import from another catalog. On Publish Services - I am able to publish to a remote desktop but not to my own network. I have also been seeing issues with publishing to SmugMug (since before they updated their site).
Similarly, I am trying to merge some catalogs and when I import from another catalog, the process seems to hang about halfway through (I left it running all night long - the catalog is large but not THAT large!). The process did bring in what seems like most files so I wonder what I am missing.
after 2013 was installed in my colleagues computer he now has the option to include Layouts when opening the publishing command, which didn't happen before. It is a slight pain removing these from the selection to be published and I was wondering how I get it to only select models and not layouts when opening the publish command as default.
